Theft system keeps coming on can't start car comes on while I drive, turn signal has a mind of its own works when it wants to,rpms go up real high while I drive and when it park, take foot off gas pedal but car seems to speed up kind of hard to stop a car that speeds up when not giving gas to it, break lights don't work when turn signal doesn't work all this happens as I am driving down the road with my to small children and of course in my driveway when the car doesn't want to start as it thinks I'm stealing my car with the key theft system break lights don't work when turn signal won't work excels in speed on its own all started in March 2016 as I just bought in February 2016.

I am issuing a complaint regarding your id number for recall 14v400. Gm recall number 14350. This recall does not fix the problem of the ignition shutting off during driving. It is merely a band aid. I want national highway traffic safety administration to re-open this recall and force gm to actually fix the problem with a new safe key slot or ignition switch, or whatever will actually stop this extremely dangerous problem. This is outrageous that you administration has allowed such nonsense.

After experiencing numerous steering lock up and key not turning in ignition (locked up) my Malibu would not budge out of the lock position when inserting key. I had to call a tow truck and since the key would not turn in ignition the Malibu had to be dragged onto tow truck with wheels locked. Car was towed to dealership at the cost of $70. 00. At the dealership the Malibu had the ignition lock cylinder and case replaced and reprogrammed theft system at (labor) $247. 50. The cylinder kit was (parts) $225. 90 and subl code new cylinder was (other) $20. 00 for a total of $493. 40. With misc. Charges of $5. 00 and sales tax at $29. 90 the total was $528. 30. Add the additional $70. 00 towing expense and total is $598. 30. I believe I am entitled to reimbursement for my expenses as this has been a recalled vehicle. I experienced on numerous occasions a locked ignition and steering which caused me to have to sit and try and try to get my key to turn the ignition. Many times I was late for work/school as I could not get the key to turn. I had to call friends and family for rides.

Approached intersection in turning lane to make left turn. Upon making such turn, vehicle did not accelerate as fast as it should. Was told second driver ran red light and collided with my vehicle in a head on collision. I was informed that my vehicle was struck on front passenger side. I remember hearing the crash and the car spinning out of control. Both airbags did deploy, as I was floating over the gear shift. Was told at the scene left leg was broken at the ankle per paramedic. Right leg was confirmed broken at the ankle at the hospital. I was wearing my seat belt, I had a burn mark that lasted almost six months. I spent 22 days in the hospital, I started as ortho-truama, went to surgery the next day to repair my left leg with 1 plate and 8 screws. Three days later, I had complications from my injuries. I went to pulmonary icu (picu). Two days after being stabilized, I went back to surgery to repair my right leg with 2 plates and 10 screws. It took 10 months to be able to walk again, with a cane and a limp. . . Right leg is noticeably shorter than my left it took a year to have feeling to the top of my right foot at my big toe. I have lost my nursing career due to not being able to do my job. Walking and standing, lifting, bending or pushing a medicine cart for long periods of time is impossible. I have been declared dis-abled.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2011

When I tried to start the car, the engine turned but the car would not start. The theft light in the dash would flash. I called gm dealer and they explained that many of the gm models of these years had a similar problem. He said there was a fault in the ignition switch where the theft system was not recognizing the key as being the correct key for my automobile. He told me to turn the ignition switch to the on position for at least 10 minutes and the theft light would go out, and then I could start the car. He said to bring it in and they could repair/replace the problem for around $500 dollars. After starting the car and having the repairs made, again within two years, the theft light in the dash started flashing again and the car would not start until I left it sitting with the key/ignition in the on position for the 10 minutes it takes to reset the theft security system. I think gm should have to repair this problem.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/04/2007

I have a 2001 chevy Malibu and I have been having a problem with my turn signals periodically not working. Some days the signal will not work one time and then the very next time it works. Other days the signals will not work at all¿both the right and left. I turn them "on" and they just don't work. Sometimes it will click a few times and then turn off. This will last for about a day or so and then they work ok for about a month sometimes longer. I can't seem to find a correlation between anything such as rain, using it a lot, etc. It can¿t be the bulb or the fuse because when they do work they blink at the normal speed. Also this has been going on for years. The first time it happened I made an appointment to have it looked at and before the appointment the blinker started working again, so I canceled. I started researching online and found out there is a recall for cars manufactured in 2001 with this same problem, the recall notice said the hazard switch needs to be replaced. It was suggested in one article when the signals stop working to push the hazards and the signal will start working and that¿s exactly what happened for me. I can fiddle with the hazard and get them to start working. I called my local dealer explaining the problem with my blinkers only to find out that my VIN number falls outside that range. This is a travesty. Why is it only some are being recalled and repaired with the problem, but not all? how is this decided which will be recalled and which will not? I am not sure of the actual date this started.
