1 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2011

The fuel gauge will randomly go from full to empty even after being filled up at times this causes the car to start hard dur to the car computer thinking the car is out of gas there has also been times were the car will idle very rough as if starving for gas.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2011

Steering shaft failure - power steering motor failure steering box replaced gas gauge sensor replaced struts replaced passenger door won't seal I have hated this car almost from the moment I bought it. So many things wrong with it. 2007 car shouldn't have all these problems. 1989 blazer still going and has none of this crap.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2011

The fuel gauge will randomly go to empty turning on the low fuel light this also caused the check engine light to come on it will go up and down all the time every few minutes when driving no matter what the speed or type of driving conditions it is believed to be a fuel sensor and interference with a vent tube.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2011

The following codes are active; p0463 fuel level sensor a circuit high input, b0561 abs $43 sys disabled and c0561 sys disabled issues. The fuel gauge was fluctuating, but has now stopped working. The service engine soon light came on and will not reset to off. The service seat belt warning message came on. The problems were intermittent prior to 50,000 miles, but now, just after 50,000 miles nothing resets. I have found that this is a common problem and the repairs are very expensive, yet nothing has been done to convince gm to recall and make repairs. We own a 2006 Malibu with 35,000 miles on it. Now, I'm worried that it is going to have the same problem as our 2007 Malibu. And, who wants to face those repair bills!.

6 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2010

I have a 2007 chev Malibu LS and every time I get gas the low fuel light comes on then the check engine light follows, eventually the gas gauge goes back up, but check engine light stays on. This has been happening for about 6 months now.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge would not provide an accurate fuel level reading. The check engine light was constantly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and after inspection the contact was advised that the vehicle needed a fuel sensor. The manufacturer was not notified and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 89,455. The VIN was not available.

8 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving 60 mph the fuel gauge displayed zero. She continued to drive to her destination and later called the manufacturer who advised her to call the dealer and schedule a diagnostic test. The dealer advised her that the fuel sensor level needed to be replaced. The dealer advised her that the fuel sensor level had deteriorated and it was replaced. The manufacturer advised her that the vehicle was no longer under warranty; therefore, she had to pay for the repairs. The failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was 66,000.

9 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2010

Fuel system failure - gas hand downs and low fuel light comes on and eventually the check engine light comes on. This was repaired in 01/2010. As of July 2014 this issue has reoccurred. This is a issue which I feel there should be a recall based on the number of complaints filed.

10 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2009

My 2007 chevy Malibu gas line broke and leaked into the back seat of my car soaking my backseat with gas and filling my car with a strong gas odor. This happened on a trip after filling up with gas.

11 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2008

Have had problems with the fuel sensor, thought it was fuel level sensor but apparently from all others reports these are several problems with the fuel system. This causes the check engine light to come on and will not allow the remote start to work. Also have problems with sensor in passenger seat. Just works randomly. Very concerned this will interfere with air bag deployment. All of these things were fixed while still under warranty but started doing it again after it expired and too costly to fix on my own.
