The power steering has been lost on multiple times and now it happening more and more frequently. It has been happening during this past year. It usually happens without warning. The power steering light will come on and simultaneously the power steering is lost. It takes a great deal of effort to steer the car and move over or turn a corner. It's a critical safety factor! for an senior women, it's very difficult to maneuver. Luckily, it's only happened on city streets while in motion. It has come on when the car has stopped, like at a traffic stop. Usually, I can turn the car off and turn it on again. A dealership informed me that it was the power steering sensors and my car is not covered. There have been recalls on this problem for other 2007 Malibu's. I also have safety concerns because I transport my elderly mother. Can't understand why my car is not covered. Drivers seat belt is not engaged - indicator light shows problem that it is not engaged. Concerned it won't work in an accident.

Was driving vehicle when I heard a "metal piece drop" and my drivers seat belt unrolled in my lap. I guess the metal thing I heard fall was the tension piece that lets the seat belt pull out & retract back when not using the seat belt. I called the dealership & they say it is not a safety recall on this and it would cost me app. $365 to get a new seat belt installed. I feel it is a "safety" issue!!! in north carolina, we are required to wear a seat belt and although I can put the seat belt on, it would not hold me in the vehicle if I was to have a wreck.
The buckle for the passenger side seat belt stop working on my 2007 chevy Malibu, airbag light on for no reason , I lock the car come back all doors are unlocked.

Seat belt retractor driver side spring has come unhooked from square sided shaft that retracts seat belt . Seat belt is rendered useless when this happens , as entire belt pulls out and is unable to be tightened down across lap or shoulder as this happened when I was driving down highway . If this were to happen before a collision serious injury could occur . On examining retractor I found that plastic cover that covers and also is to hold spring clamp onto seat belt shaft is not strong enough to hold device in position to keep tension and engage collision lock of belt . This is a very serious safety issue.
I was going approximately 40 mph and was slowing to stop at a stop sign when the I heard this loud sound like a spring being popped. Then my sealt belt released. It had come out of the winder and had to be fixed at the dealership.
Drivers seat belt unspools completely when driving and stays that way. Dealer quotes just under $400 to repair. Have it repaired and two months later does the same thing while standing still and pulling out seat to buckle. . Auto is now unsafe to drive without working seatbelt.

The following codes are active; p0463 fuel level sensor a circuit high input, b0561 abs $43 sys disabled and c0561 sys disabled issues. The fuel gauge was fluctuating, but has now stopped working. The service engine soon light came on and will not reset to off. The service seat belt warning message came on. The problems were intermittent prior to 50,000 miles, but now, just after 50,000 miles nothing resets. I have found that this is a common problem and the repairs are very expensive, yet nothing has been done to convince gm to recall and make repairs. We own a 2006 Malibu with 35,000 miles on it. Now, I'm worried that it is going to have the same problem as our 2007 Malibu. And, who wants to face those repair bills!.
