general problems of the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Unknown fuel leak needs added to recall list . It is currently at the chevy dealership in van buren arkansas getting looked at on the fuel leakage. I'm going to upload some documents for y'all to look at and consider. Everything that has been stated in these recall is exactly what my car is doing and has wrong with it. I'm just asking for it to be added on this recall list because it needs to be y'all will be able to get all the information at the chevy dealership on the fuel leakage it is currently up there right now getting looked at in van buren arkansas. When I walk up to my car all I smell is gas and my gas tank doesn’t last as long as it should the first half of my tank is gone within 2-4 hours the second half last a couple days . I just had a child and I wanna make sure I can get these things fixed . I just purchased this car like 3 months ago from a dealership . . He’s been giving me the run around so I’m trying to see what I can do.

I was driving the car was perfectly fine I only had it for 4 months it's only had two owners me and one other person and all of a sudden the power steering just went it immediately stopped working the gauges are bobbin up and down it's telling me to service esc sometimes even the car won't start right away the lights on the gear stick won't turn on right away the engine light turned on the traction control turns off it's telling me power steering service tire monitor even though there's nothing wrong with it I don't know what's going on this car brands like brand new at first and then within a month of driving it it immediately just started crashing and that's when I read that there's been a lot of recalls on this model everything's electrical there's no power steering fluid nothing like that sometimes when the gears are changing they stick and it makes buffering sounds now it's starting to sputter and I have no idea what's going on this is dangerous having to stop and restart the car sometimes just to get the computer to recognize that the system is fine every time I call gm and I tell them that this car was never serviced when the recalls first happened they automatically reject me I don't know what to do as I said this car is basically brand-new it's only had two owners me and one other person it never was brought in when the first recall was acknowledged so this is still has all the original parts in it is there no one around that can help me?.

My car's check engine light has been on and flashing for the past two weeks. I have had my car repaired several times by autobody shops. A diagnostic test have never been done before today. My car is pulling to the right. The rack and pinion was replaced last year. I hit a deer and according to the repair shop I only had body damage. Six months later they are telling me I need to replace my engine. I have replaced the brakes on this car more than seven times. I am in the process of getting the rotors replaced. Then every four months I have to get my tires replaced.

Lighting not working in car, power lock not working, power truck open not working, bad suspension.

Keep getting a message saying �esc off� , �traction control off� comes and goes. Sometimes seems like the vehicle is stuck in a gear makes a loud roar. Starts to vibrate while driving at certain speeds. Having a problem with brake light staying on a even after replacing switch. I have the recall problems for this year/model car but VIN doesn't seem to meet the qualifications.

Fuel leaks/ignition fire; took vehicle to chevy dealer to have recall items fixed and inform them the fuel leak problem with regards to NHTSA campaign #13e-043 and the article of 10/01/12 siting that gm was recalling 41,000 cars sold in warm weather states including CA, because of defective plastic part might cause "fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. " gm told NHTSA that it began investigating the problem in 2011 after a dealer reported fuel leaking and that it would notify owners and replace the fuel module free of charge including those who live outside the states affected by the recall. The offer is valid for 10yrs or 120,000 milesfrom the date the vehicle was sold, gm spokesman alan adler told the associated press. Chevy superstition springs, mesa, az will not honor this and wants to charge me $900 to repair their manufacture defect. Please help!! I have a child and family members I transport in vehicle with potential hazard of igniting a fire while driving.

Takata recall, my 08 Malibu will not start after driving no matter how long. I've been stranded multiple times. I bought a new starter, relay switch, ignition, switch, and paid for multiple diagnostic tests. Every mechanic sends me to the dealer ship and says they can't find the problem but believe it's the ecm. I'm taking it to the dealer today and praying this doesn't cost me another car!.

Gas leak. Gradually began to notice strong fuel order and now an actual leak.

The air bag light comes on and it says to be serviced. Sometimes it comes on and it can stay off for long periods of time. The service air bag light can come on while the car is in motion and then turn off, sometimes it does stay on. My vehicle is giving a strong smell of fuel coming from the rear of the car. I notice it being a stronger smell after I station it after a drive. I have not seen a noticeable leak yet. I will have a mechanic check that for me.

Takata recall my 2008 chevy Malibu got stuck in reverse when I was backing out of a parking spot and I fixed it with zip ties but the plastic pin that holds my shifter to my transmission got stuck.

Electrical and module problems safety hazards with traction control. Tc on when it should not be. Fuel system problems. Car powers off during driving. Gm refused repair without charging 120 to look at. Had to disconnect fuses and had to pull actuators pressure. Sensors fuel and electrical. Door latches going up and down even when car is off. Cannot drive highway. Gm refused vehicle from repair or compensation.

Went I bought the car had been give problem now the car smell like is leaking gas and the airbag system turn on my front wheel crack went I turn right or left I took to the dearlship they said they fix the problem but still does same thing they don't help anything make me waste my time my car I peace shit I wanted my all my money back.

Noticed gas smell for a couple of weeks and progressively got worse. Took vehicle to chevy dealer and they immediately noticed the smell of gasoline. They found that the vehicle was leaking fuel from the fuel module hose. They stated that the entire fuel module had to be replaced at a cost of $868. 35 which was not covered under warranty or manufacturer recalls even though there have been recent issues with the fuel modules on many gm modules including Chevrolets in areas that have extremely hot summers like the san joaquin valley in California where I live. The mechanics stated that we were fortunate that the vehicle did not catch fire and I don't understand that such a thing could not be related to a defective product. The chevy cobalt 2007-2009 models and equinox 2007 model had the similar issue. Thank you.

Turn signal isn't operating correctly, it no longer cuts off automatically, three of my four door latches aren't working--don't respond to key fob (the one that works), have to lock all three doors manually. Check engine light comes on after filling up car and has been on for about 7 months with no one at the dealership knowing why. Also have a problem with water settling in my car every time it rains. Key fobs both went out also but only one is now working at 75%. All of these problems have been going on since I first got the car with the dealership either pretending as if I did it or that they do not have enough staff to correct the problem. I know this was only done because I am a female and the car was under warranty. I am so disappointed!!! I bought this car brand new with only 100 miles on it and it seems as if gm wants their dealerships to do this. I know so many people with the same problems from the same parent manufacturer (tahoe, enclave, impala, Malibus) this car seems to have a lot of minor/major problems that all rear their ugly heads at various times of ownership. . Thinking about getting rid of it even though it was my dream car and almost paid for!!!! gm needs to get on the ball!!!.

The car started jerking and the engine light started blinking. The service esc and traction lights came on. Then the esc and traction off lights came on and the engine light is still on. The jerking continues to happen at 40mph and at 65mph.

Chevrolet Malibu ltz 3. 6l, as you drive down the street at any speed the traction control light comes on check engine light comes on and the display say check traction press esc I have had it checked at the chevy dealership where I purchased the car and the tech said the engine misfired that it was probably due to bad gas or a particle in the gas but it has happened about ten times with gas from several places and all grades regular to premium and know the check engine light has come on and am know taking the car back to the dealer to have them scan the car again I have had the car a little over a month, if the dealer decides it is no longer there problem I will report this problem and hassle I have gone through to gm management and will return the car back to the dealer or owner of dealership for a refund.

In the last year I have purchased four gas caps and have the same problem. The engine light keeps going on and off. I have had it tested at auto zone and they stated it is the gas cap. Gm stated that there is no problem with there gas caps.

Fuel guage is innacurate resulting in engine code and inability to properly monitor fuel level. Potential for out of fuel stalls.

On multiple occasions while driving, speed doesn't change outcome, door locks will continue to lock and unlock by themselves and car alarm will go off and will set itself while driving down the road. This is very distracting to the me, the driver and to the drivers around my car. Thus potentially causing a crash. Also, the brake lights will illuminate until you press the brake pedal then they go off. This is definitely backward! the doors will unlock, sometimes. However, you will have to guess which ones will unlock. Usually, the ones that unlock are the front-right passenger and back-left passenger. The reason the unlock is because they don't lock! no one can "duplicate the problem". The driver door and right-back door sometimes are unable to be opened. This requiring me to find a door that can be opened or that did unlock and climb through to the drivers seat. All of this while making sure my autistic son and daughter remain safe in a parking lot. This is very unsafe, as I park in a parking garage several times a week on a college campus. Unfortunately, neither key less remotes work either! most recently the shifter cable has broken. The care wouldn't budge. Chevy was notified, we were told to have it towed to the closest chevy dealer. Just to be charged a diagnostic fee, we told them the problem, and they decided not to cover it under the power train like we were told would happen. Then two weeks ago, the shifter cable broke again! this seems very odd. The entire time I have had this car when I press the accelerator pedal it feels like the car is running out of gas or like its having a hard time shifting. This has been reported from the beginning with no help. So, this is my last reach out for help. As I hear about all the carjackings, cars getting stolen and robbed, I just think my car is an open invitation! please help. Chevy wouldn't help us even under warranty.
