1 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2017

On November 1, 2017, while driving home on the expressway I hear this loud revving noise, I turn my radio off and realize it is my car making the noise and than the check engine light comes on. When I was able to I pulled over to the shoulder and turned my car off in hopes of the error clearing out. After a few minutes I turned the car back on only to find that the check engine light was still on, when it was save to do so, I pulled back into traffic with my hazard lights as I could not go over 20 to 30 mph without the rpm going up. I made it home, tried to back into my garage only to find that my car will not go in reverse. I put the car back in drive, pulled around to the front of the house and parked the car. Since it was after midnight, I called Chevrolet the next day and the only thing they could help me with was to get in touch with a dealership to schedule an appointment to take the car in for diagnostics as my car was no longer under warranty and there is no recall on this model year although there is a recall for models 2007 thru 2009 for the same issues. My service adviser called me later that day to tell me it was due to transmission failure, they found metal in the transmission and his advice was to replace the transmission. My diagnostic code was p0776( pressure solenoid 2 stuck off), my bill $3946 for car that has 84000 miles on it. A car that I am still paying a car note on. When I purchased it 4 years ago it had just under 30000 miles on it. I have done everything to maintain my car because my biggest fear is being stuck on the side of the road, especially since I am a woman working 2nd shift. I do not have my repair invoice yet as I have not picked my car up yet, its not so easy to come up with nearly $4000.

2 Transmission Solenoid problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

I've owned the car for 18 months. November 2012, I reported to my gm dealer of loss of power when driving. Car's resistant to acceleration attempts, loses power at varying speeds from 30 mph and up. Vehicle brought in, dealer stated there were no problems. December 2012, while driving at approximately 30mph, car engine stopped running, car came to stop on active train tracks with children in car, no power steering, not able to shift into drive, neutral or reverse, park. Once ignition was turned off, vehicle would not start. Towed vehicle in for service, was told transmission needed to be replaced due to a bad solenoid. Vehicle still having problems two months after. January 2013 brought vehicle in for same issue, losing power, no acceleration, rpm's would rev and then rapidly drop while driving without foot on gas pedal. Was told by dealer nothing is wrong with car. February 2013, change oil light was one for three months, even after having oil changed. Brought to dealer to have reset. May 2013, vehicle still losing power, rpm's revving and rapidly dropping, dash lights randomly dimming without touching dimmer knob, driver's door will not open from inside and will not lock/unlock despite multiple methods, once open door will not latch to close and door bounces open again, auto start lags at time and randomly doesn't work. I have an appointment to bring vehicle in for service next Monday, not optimistic as the dealer keeps telling me there's nothing wrong with the car and they are unable to replicate, they state they are not aware of any other known issues on this vehicle, despite there being many many TSB's online for the same issues I've been experiencing. I haven't owned the car for even two years, traded in a beautiful new camaro for it to transport my children in a safe car, yet this vehicle has been nothing but problems and headaches.
