I have a 2011 chevy Malibu ltz with 44,589 miles and I have an issue with my screens reading that my esc system is bad and will reduce my engine power, I took it in to airport Chevrolet in medford, oregon and they pluged my car in and told me he has seen this issue countless times, and has seen people have to replace things as simple as a sensor all the way to it being an issue in the wiring harness and people will bring their car in and do the small repairs first ( economically makes sense) and it will not fix the problem. . Until they fix this huge expensive issue all because. Chevy has an issue with a system they put into a car that doesn't work properly! I have read other reviews very similar to mine where people have been hit in traffic . Now luckily I caught mine before a wreck. This needs to be fixed!.
The passenger side low beam bulb keeps going out. I've had this bulb replaced multiple times and had the wiring harness replaced because the bulb kept going out. After having the wiring harness replaced the bulb went out again.
Takata recall dealers are to attach the wiring harness to the bcm with a spacer, apply dielectric lubricant to both the bcm and harness connector and on the bas and harness connector, and relearn the brake pedal home position free of charge. And also dealers will replace the outboard lap anchor mounting bracket to re-locate the tensioner 30mm rearward. Dealers will also inspect the cable, and if necessary, replace the lap pretensioner. These repairs will be completed free of charge.
The wiring on my vehicle has always been messed up causing my check light engine to stay on at all times. I've had multiple machinists look over my vehicle and have spent lots of money trying to get this issue fixed.

The driver's side body seam of my 2011 chevy Malibu was not properly sealed. This allowed water to leak into my electrical panel cause corrosion to all of my wiring. I determined this after driving down a high way at 60 mph and having my car drop down to 10 mph with service engine lights, engine power reduced warnings all lighting up my panel. It had been raining that day. I am lucky that the car behind me was following an appropriate amount of distance behind me.

While driving my car a service light came on. The message was "service traction" and "service esc". The car will loose power and act like it's going to die. I took my car to a Chevrolet dealership on 2 different occasions and the first time they would not look at it because they could not figure out if it was under warranty. The second attend at the dealership they diagnosed the problem as the wiring harness and it needed to be replaced. On may 14, 2014 gm recalled Chevrolet Malibu's for the model year 2004-2014. I contacted gm about the recall and was denied help to fix the problem with my car. I informed the person I spoke with that my car had been diagnosed by a dealership with the same issue as the recall. Gm informed me that I could pay to have the vehicle fixed out of my own pocket and maybe get reimburse at a later time. I explained my concern for the safety of my child that gets transported in the vehicle and they did not care. The lady on the phone just kept repeating that I could pay out of pocket for the problem. I have read online that it was all models recalled from 2004-2012 but I am still getting denied help.
The manufacturer forgot to install a clamp on the moon roof drain. The tube fell off and flooded the interior of the car with 3 inches of standing water on July 12, 2013. The entire passenger side including ceiling, dash (in front and behind), seats, flooring, and electrical componets have water damage. It then happened again on July 14, 2013. Contact was made to the dealer on July 16, 2013. After numerous, meaningless phone conversations with Chevrolet, they would only replace some cosmetic parts. Only the flooring was replaced at first. After more complaints, the seat covers and head liner were replaced, but not the factory carpeted floor mats. They refused to replace or inspect anything else that water came in contact with including electrical components, seat cushions, safety restraints, wiring harnesses, or airbag system behind the dash. Our 10 year old son had a kidney transplant two years ago and has a suppressed immune system. Due to this, he cannot be around mold which Chevrolet is refusing to test for. Being that only 50% or less of the components have been replaced, we are concerned of the presence of mold. Our physician has requested that the car be tested and signed off that no mold is present before our son can ride in the car again. Our son's health depends on having a safe, clean car to be transported in. Cevrolet has no concerns for his saftey or life threatening issues. Unknown electrical safety components may or may not have been compromised with this much water or moisture in the vehicle. These parts were not checked, tested or replaced.
