I got a error message power steering issue, & then the key stuck in the steering wheel & won't come out. The vehicle was parked in my garage. I was getting ready to drive it. Now my car won't start & I still get the error message.
Having problems with the eassist system. The auto stop function cause the car to stall and stop and shake sometimes while driving and stop at the light or stop sign I have to drive in manuel mode to drive the car. If the car not in part of it's neutral the car has rolled backwards off the parking pad. That happened just one time to me. After reading about other people reporting this, I keep the safety break on. Also I read about the recall on the e assist . I'm currently having the same issues but my VIN number is not included. I got the car used and only had it for a little over a year.
2019car overheating sensor had to be replaced due to the sensor moving up and down while driving it. In a less then 10 min drive the car said it was over heating and when mechanic touch engine it was still cold. The fans are also not turning on while driving the car and heater is not working. Now in 2020 the car is doing the same thing sensor is moving up and down while driving after a 5 min drive the fans turn on as if engine is hot when turned off but heater isn't working while driving it. Another thing when turning on a/c sometimes heat come on instead of cool and cool during heat setting.
Lose all power going down the road doesn't matter speed and lose all control of steering, brakes. While at red light car will die or try to give itself acceleration. Changed all sensors and other codes given. Shows engine reduced power or engine overload.
While in motion, the front defrost stopped working and all air started blowing from other vents. This caused the windshield to fog obstructing vision. Multiple attempts were made to turn the defrost back on without any success. Air continues to blow from all other vents. It appears as if a recall has been issued for the 2014 Malibu for the same problem.
While at a stop light on a very busy city street the engine stopped running and the car shut off. My foot was still on the break and the car was in drive. I put the car in park then restarted the car and it started running like it should, there was no warning lights displayed before, during, or after this happened. In another incident while I reversed the car the engine shut off without any warning lights, I had to put the car in park again and restart it to get the engine running again.
Ac control not send signal to ac compressor. Stuck in heat on last setting I had the control on. I bought new ac compressor because was told the ac compress has power but not working. After replacing the compressor problem still was on going now told ac is not sending message to compress to turn on.
Takata recall when I'm in park or at a stop sign it red light the car will shutdown it keeps doing it no shops can find the problem they check engine light is not on its reading as if nothing is wrong with the car ! my friend has same vehicle and her is doing the same thing.
The car shuts completely off when driving. The steering wheel starts to lock in different places as you turn. All electronics shut off and sometimes cannot be restarted for days. You can be sitting in park and turn the steering wheel and it will still lock up. Not at the stopping point of the steering. Even if you try. A little. I also have a video of it happening it will not let you turn it at all. Unlock losing power steering makes it harder to turn but still possible. With this it stops completely like the car is shut off. When you switch your turn signal on and then turn all electronics and car shuts off until you turn the signal off or let go out the steering wheel. I have almost wrecked 4 times with kids in the car. I have personally read other people. Not just a few but at least 200 other people with this same problem. Currently looking into legal action against this before someone dies in a wreck because nobody wants to issue a recall.
I received a message on my interior screen that air shut off due to engine overheating yesterday. Three weeks ago, my service engine light came on and I had autozone run a diagnostic test and it said to replace radiator. This car is a 2013 chevy Malibu and I keep it in good condition. It has 75,701 miles. These warning messages occur when the car is moving on the highway.
Door locks engaging and disengaging randomly while driving, headlights turning off and on randomly while driving, car starting while parked in garage (no remote start). Dealership replaced bcm, could not guarantee this fixed the problem. Indicated they had never seen the issue before. Within 2 weeks, all issues repeated themselves. Returned to dealership. The dealership kept the car for 2 weeks and then called me and left a message to pick it up as they could not find the issue. When I called back, the dealership said "it was a good thing you haven't picked up the vehicle yet, it started on its own 3 times this morning". If I had picked this vehicle up, the issue would have happened again while I was at home. Case has been filed with Chevrolet customer car, and sufs (gm global safety). No action has been taken. No engineers have been sent down to look at the car from gm headquarters. After the car started on its own at the dealership, they changed out the ignition switch, but again, cannot guarantee the issues won't reoccur. Car was returned to the dealership for a third time on may 2nd after the headlights turned on and off 3 times on the way to work on may 1st. After having the vehicle until may 10th, I was informed that the dealership could not find an issue, and I should pick the car up as they could not diagnose the problem if they do not see it. The response from gm has been a joke. The car is not safe to drive. I cannot drive it at night, and cannot part it in my garage, as it could start and cause my entire family to die from carbon monoxide poisoning, or could overheat from running in park while we are sleeping and start a fire. I cannot in good conscience sell the car either. So, I am stuck with an unsafe vehicle that general motors will not take responsibility for. My concern is that there may be other vehicles on the road with the same issue.
The car will stall while pulling into traffic or at a red light or stop sign. After mmseveral stops it drains the battery completely. No problems when driving long distances on the interstate. Very dangerous. L.
The knob that slides and opens the hidden compartment behind the radio has melted and gets black goo all over everything. It's definitely a widespread problem that many people have experienced and should be recalled. I can't find just a replacement knob without replacing the entire thing.
Driving to dealership to have oil changed, check engine light on,battery on an battery saver activated, dealer said battery was good ,,when starting car ,put in gear, steering wheel won't move, turn off ,start again, then moves,an car dies,an restarts by itself. While driving hesitation in accelerating. I called 1-800-521-7300,spoke to nash ,,I am told there is no recall on this . Very upsetting to buy a car an have this happen ,,first an last chevy I ever buy ,,,thought gm would taje care of their customers !!!!.
Saturday I was parking my car and the car all of a sudden stopped. The wheel locked and then the car just shut off. I had no problem restarting it. Today I was on the highway and my vehicle did the same thing.
I am having a problem with my speedometer jumping, and there is also an indicater light that keeps popping on saying that my car is losing power. I've taken to the landers dealership where I am purchasing my car from six time's now to be fixed, and yet it continues to happen.
Trunk release : the trunk randomly releases and pops open even while driving down the road. This has happened several times and last happened on 01/10/2018 while it was parked.
While driving the car informed me that I had an accident and onstar called. This happened several times. In order to stop the flashers I would have to pull over and restart the car. I informed the dealer and they have been testing , calling gm, and repairing for 6weeks. They keep telling me it is fixed and I drive it and the same thing happens again. This has been going on for 6 weeks now and it's still at the dealer. They can not seem to find the issue. The last time I tried to drive the car in addition to to the other problems the car would stop all together. This seems like a major saftey issue to me.
Key fob breaks in half. Manufacturer makes a key that can not withstand life of vehicle. Have had 2 key fobs break since purchasing vehicle.
While getting on the expressway the car cut off on the ramp while going 24mph. I was unable to turn on hazard lights, nothing at all would work. I could not immediately restart the car. I could not remove the key either. I had to wait approximately 3 mins for the car to light up and then I could restart the car. On the way home on the ramp on the expressway the car lost power steering and jerked to the left. The enigine did not stop this time. In this case fortunately there were no injuries.
Since we bought this car the check engine light has come on every few months. The engine has been rebuilt to fix "a stuck cylinder" and the water pump had to be replaced. The check engine light is on again and it seems that the car has no pick up when the gas pedal is pushed. It seems to hesitate. This is the worst care I have ever owned.
The brake booster gave out while approaching a red light. I was able to stop but it was difficult and my check engine light came con and engine had a rough idle. Had to tow car to dealership and verified that it was unsafe to drive. There is not a recall or warrantied so $800. 00 later it will be safe but but I will be set back. After doing research I found that there is a current recall for the exact same problem on 2014 models. Good for those owners.
Heating inoperable without warning, defrost unable to operate, happened after receiving an oil change at a certified gm dealer. Worked fine as I entered the dealership.
Rear window blew out, was told something to do with the rear defrost possibly, still had to pay out of pocket for something out of my control, so far very unhappy with chevy/gm, second car with an unvcovered issue.
Car randomly losses power at any speed. During this time, I am unable to control the car. The power steering is off. This happened to my wife as she made a left turn on a green light on bell road, az (a busy road). There is no way that this should be taken lightly.
When fan is on there is a loud knocking noise. Chevrolet dealership informed me that my air compressor is bad. This will also affect the ability to defrost the windshield.
Rear wheel bearings failed at 45000 miles. Humming sound from back of car gets louder as you increase speed. For someone who is deaf this could be disastorus. Many complaints on gm websites and the web regaudring this premature war of the ac delco wheel bearing hub. .
I have a Malibu eco boost. On June 23, 2015 I was driving on 96 and the charging system failure light came on the car began to shut down. The power steering went out. I was able to pull over on the shoulder but the keys could not be removed from the ignition. I had it towed to graff Chevrolet andthey said the only thing they could find wrong was a speedsensor. The guy tom said I could come get my vehicle at 8pm since thepart was enroute. I drove over 80 miles to get there at8 and my car wasn't ready but the guy said I cold take it with me. I did not. They fixed that then said it was a right wheel hub. I know these two things havenothing to do with the charging system. Tookmy car home and the same thinghappened on the holiday July 4th. Why didn't thecomputer or the mechanic detect a problem with the charging system.
The chrome finish is peeling on the interior drivers side door handle. The chrome plastic is very sharp and causes cuts when opening the door.
Trunk lid opens at any time on it's own.
While driving home, I received a warning to service my battery charging system. Eventually, the battery saver was activated. I lost my power steering eventually and my car stopped running. I could jump the car to start but my car would die when put in gear. My vehicle has 51,000 miles and yet the drive belt broke. While repairing it, the technician discovered that the drive belt tensioner pulley was bad and needed replaced. My vehicle is not old enough nor with enough mike's to warrant this part going bad. I had to pay a $700 repair bill because it is outside of the warranty.
When I first got the car it was less than 4 months of owing it 38,000 mile, and I had issues. When I would come to a stop and the auto stop/start would kick in my car would die. And at one time it smelt like a burning rubber. The initial time the car died and would not start. Called dealership mathews Buick in marion indiana, had it towed but they could find what was wrong with it. Well it happened again not a few months later this time by the time I got to my home the serpentine belt busted from where the "auto stop/start feature" locked up and broke it in half. So few hundred dollars later "they said they fixed it" but I have had problems with it since then. Now my engine leaks dont know why, and my car wont even start. I could not even tell you what they fixed, but it cost me. I tried the lemon law but everything has to be in a certain time, and it has to be fixed so many times. I feel the dealership sold me a bad vehicle and knew it!! this car had nothing but caused me headaches all because of the auto stop/start feature. I hope you can help me because now my car does not run no power and I have been told it could be the altenator but apparently you can only buy parts from the dealership and just for that it is $900!! this covid-19 has caused me a hardship and now that I have a good job I have to rent a car for $800/month to get to work. I still owe on this car so I am making car payments on top of the rental. Please help these issues happen when I was driving. I am currently at sons house and all my paperwork is in storrage. I am unclear of the date it happened.
On Saturday morning I was about to go to work I stared the the car as usual but when I got in the express way when I try and accelerate the it got hard and the car wanted to stop so I got out of the expressway and the malfunction indicator lamp show up. When I try and hit the gas again the car stop.
Metal plating on the passenger door handle peeling off and is extremely sharp. Have had 2 people slice their hands/fingers on the door, resulting in a painful "paper-cut" like injury. Research on the internet suggests this has been an issue for gm vehicles in the past. Car is 2 years old and shouldn't be falling apart.
I am the 2nd owner of my 2013 chevy Malibu ltz we bought at 19,000 miles, it has been in the shop more than any car I have had!! when I first got it the wheel bearings went out and not just one they went out one by one at end expenses of $900 at one time at xmas!! it's been running good now, it now has 130,000 miles on it. But from day one the rims have been peeling off they had some coating over it and it's slowly peeling off making my car look really bad!! I called chevy and they refused to give me any replacement rims! now we are in the process of sand blasting them and painting them. But why chevy wouldn't replace these ans make their own cars look cheap and crappy is beyond me!! I'm just hoping my car isn't going to have all these stalling issues that people are having! I plan to drive this car until it's a rust bucket!! lol ;-).
