Check Engine Light On problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu

This has happened twice now, once for my wife and the second time I was driving. Both incidents happened while in motion on the highway and the vehicle display showed reduced engine power and the vehicle DE-rated and slowed automatically on the highway. The check engine light displayed and after connecting a code reader to the obd and code p2138 was logged which is potentially a faulty throttle position sensor/ foot gas pedal. I replaced the throttle position sensor cleared the stored code and a couple weeks later the vehicle again went into limp mode and DE-rated on highway. The check engine light came on and the same code p2138 was logged indicating voltage difference between app sensor 1 and app sensor 2 of the throttle positioning sensor. After further research on line I found that a gm service bulletin was issued for potential moisture intrusion of the connectors from the throttle position sensor to the ecm. (see attached) it seems like my vehicle is experiencing moisture in the connectors as both incidents happened within minutes of taking the vehicle through an automatic car wash. In my opinion this is a safety concern for this model vehicle to DE-rate and slow down suddenly at highway speeds with cars following behind and has been a known issue by gm and should have a recall issued.

When I stop at a stop sign or red light, my car go into auto stop. When I press on the gas to go, the car shut off. After months of this I just understood what was really going on. No check engine light is on. This is hard to detect. Not even the dealership found this out. My auto sound guy explained this to me now I can explain this to the dealership . This should be a recall . This is dangerous. Why did Chevrolet put this option in cars.

Check engine light on and check stabilizertrak and reduced engine speed diagnostic test says misfire and vvt sensors sensors replaced everything still on car lost all speed and power on highway.

The check engine light won't go off and there's only 78000 miles. The auto stop isn't working. The tracking light won't go of and the abs light wont go off.

The engine variable timing oil control valve is malfunctioning as I have seen with thousands of others on the internet. Gm is no longer making the part. I was driving my car on a highway and the check engine light came on. The car drove normally, but when I attempted to accelerate to merge onto another highway, the car seemingly stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas. The car was stuck with no propulsion for a few seconds before I could accelerate again. The car now only slowly accelerates, or dies if I try to accelerate quickly. My fuel economy has been worse and according to reports the emissions of the car are worse. No action is being taken by gm to fix this issue.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted who referred contact to local dealer. The failure mileage was 46,000. Ap.

2014 chevy Malibu 2lt 75,000 miles. Omaha, ne. Check engine light came. Hesitation in acceleration. Diagnostic code p16cf - intake rocker arm solenoid valve 2 control circuit. Chevy dealer has 17 on backorder. After research this appears to be a known issue, with no recall. Shop ordered part 2 weeks ago. They are telling us they hope to have the part by first of February.

The check engine light came on and the code reader showed that the variable timing solenoid needs to be replaced. After searching for a replacement part, I keep getting told that this make/model consistently has this problem. The engine light comes on, the car loses power and seems to have a tugging feel when driving especially when accelerating. This happens both with in town driving and freeway driving. Happens at any speed.

While driving my check engine light came on. Plugged it in to see what codes it was reading both O2 sensor and well as as cam shaft,check engine litlght is still on sensing the same codes. Went to 2 different garages and they are unable to find the issue. I'm unable to get my car inspected due to the issue.

My vehicle shows the check engine light, the dealer made a check and found problems with the rocket arm valve part number 12633613 (engine variable timing oil control valve). That was in December 2019, they request the part to gm, and so far the part is unavailable. I tried to buy it through internet and friends in other states, and no auto parts have this part. This part is necessary because control the timing of the engine. My car can get ruin if I do not change that part. Gm is being irresponsable to have this important part of the car available.

Bought car brand new from the chevy dealership in 2015. The check engine light comes on within a year. Code 305f. Replaced aux battery. 1 year later, code 305f, again. Replaced aux battery under warranty. Another code popped up. . This was a sensor; replaced under warranty. Nov 2018, again, code 305f. Another aux battery replaced. Here we are, Dec 2019, code 305f. Dealership states since we've replaced with a gel battery and both batteries are reading good but recharge, that it is the computer module on top of the battery which controls the auto stop/start and the remote start. In the almost 5 years I have had my car, it has been in the shop for this problem more than 3 times now and 2 times for hub assembly that should not have gone out at the low mileage of 42k. There is a clear problem with this 305f and the hub assembly as chevy has a service bulletin on the 305f and many chevy Malibu owners have made several hundred complaints according to online sources. This is a safety issue because the car will "die"(shut off completely) while at a stop sign or light which could result in a rear end. This car, along with the other 2014-2015 are being treated as though there is no problem. I'm sick of spending $140. 00 on an aux battery and wasting time for something that they know is worthy of a recall but are to cheap or just don't care about the buyer. As I write this, I am sitting at sterling mccall Chevrolet in houston for the wonderful 305f code. Do something about it! I was sitting at a light when the auto shut off/start kicked off and back on which caused the car to lunge forward. That's when the check engine light illuminated the first time. I drive my car because I have to and still paying it off, but I no longer feel safe in it and it puts me and my family along with other drivers at risk. I have about 2 years left on my payments.

Vehicle has had failed oil arm rocker valve (part# 12633613) since October 2019. Gm has advised they do not know when this part will be available, and has no other resolution to provide except to wait and that they are sorry for inconvenience. Check engine light illuminated means it will not pass emissions testing in CT (or state inspections in a lot of other states). Car is not usable because of this, some power loss issues being experienced at highway speeds. Gm has not offered any resolution other than $2500 off a new gm vehicle. Will not assist further and state that there is no eta for replacement part. Car not serviceable and gm will not resolve.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the parts were no longer being manufactured. The contact was also informed that a third-party part was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

My wife was doing 70 down one of our busier country roads in michigan and the check engine light came on followed by an engine power reduced message causing the car to decelerate down to 30mph causing cars to swerve and go around us. She could have been rear ended and extremely hurt becuase of this.

The check engine light came on and vehicle was taken to dealership to get a diagnostic of the problem. Turns out the code is p0014 a diagnostic trouble code (dtc) for "camshaft position b - timing over-advanced or system performance (bank 1)". I was informed on September 7, 2019 at the dealership that the part was on back order but I needed to pay for the part and once the part came in and to not drive the vehicle until it is repaired. Also, I would be informed and then I would come in and pay the labor fees. I've called Chevrolet numerous times and have been told the part is still on back order nationwide with no estimated timeframe of when the part will come in. They stated it could be about 1 month. I started doing some research and found the 2013 model of the Chevrolet Malibu had a recall for this same reason. If the part is completely out nationwide for Chevrolet Malibu's, there is a huge problem. Please help me find a way to get my car repaired.

The contact was informed by the dealer and the manufacturer who informed that the part was not available and there were no plans to produce the part in the future. The failure mileage was 20,980. The autostop feature has a malfunction when the car comes to a stop on down side of a hill causing the engine to shut completely off for up to 15 to 20 minutes before it cranks back up again. When this happens the steering wheel locks up and the car is able to switch gears and lights come on int he dash as normal. The check engine light appears while its in this dead state and once it cranks up as normal the light goes off. Local dealerships arent able to pinpoint the exact issue and the car doesnt keep a record of the check engine code. A new battery was given once but that disnt last long before the auto stop feature malfunctioned again.

My check engine light came on, I took it to the shop and replaced a solenoid, problem is still there. Now my car dies on me and when I push on the gas it hesitates. My car has under 75000 miles on it. I've already replaced both wheel bearings. My a/c doesn't want to come on at times. My radio will come on with no key in the ignition,.

The auto stop/start fail two time the check engine light came on took it in two time to get it fixed . When driving it will down shift whin I take my foot of the gas.
