My car was driving fine then all of a sudden the service stabili track light flashed on my screen and my check engine light started flashing but went off after about 1 minute . The next day while accelerating the car stuttered and felt almost like I was driving down a road with little rivets . Its stopped and again all the lights dissapeared. This morning as soon as I started my car the check engine light is on and every time I accelerate it stutters and feels as if I'm driving down a riveted road .

2 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2020

On January 15th. At 08:26am while driving to work my check engine light came on. On January 19th. The car was dropped for service at westgate Chevrolet in edmonton, ab. After two weeks of testing and multiple part changes the dealer established that my car has a faulty "intake oil control valve". This is a well known failure of the gm ecotec 2. 5 lkw engine. Gm has been trying to redisgn the part since September of 2019. As of today may 20th, 2020 the replacement part has still not been made available and my car has been sitting at the dealer for 4 months now. Multiple owners of 2014 and 15 Malibu's and impala's are suffering the same faith. Lately gm corporate has not even returned e-mails from my dealer as to when the new part will me made available. This is an absolutely unacceptable behavior on part of gm.

3 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/07/2019

My check engine light came on towards the beginning of Dec 2019. I took it to a chevy dealership who stated it was due to the rocker arm oil control valve and that they needed to order the part. I waited until Feb 2020 with no update on when the part would arrive so I took my Malibu to another dealership who stated it need the same part and that it should be there within a week. As of may 2020 my car is still at that dealership without an estimated date in when the part will be available. I called gm and the only thing they can do is offer $2500 towards a new car.

4 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2019

I was stopped at a light at a very busy intersection (auto off engaged). When I started to move, the car would barely go (auto off was disengaged). It was jerking as I was giving it gas. The service stabilitrak message came on and my check engine light came on. I managed to pull into a parking lot , put it in park and then I tried to rev the engine and it just didn't want to. I shut it off and then turned it back on and the message disappeared. I drove back to work and it seemed fine, but for months now, it seems when I go to take off, it hesitates a bit before going.

5 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2018

No problems prior to a simple spark plug change(ac delco iridium/oem). Few days later, car started hesitating, and losing acceleration, check engine light & service stability display on screen. Checked with obdii. Gave code of missing spark in #3. So I changed spark plug, thinking faulty plug. After driving a bit, code and same problem again. Took to dealer $170 later, bad coil. . . ! 86k miles and bad coil, after changing plugs. . . Hum! ok so if bad coil why is it giving me a service stabilitrack display? and not coming up on obdii diagnosis? I'm a certified transit desiel mechanic of 15yrs, and this puzzles me. I've ordered coil, changing tmrw. Lets see what outcome will be after chaning coil!.

6 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2018

Purchased a new 2015 Chevrolet Malibu 1lt with 8 miles from imperial Chevrolet in mendon MA. At 44 miles the vehicle was taken to imperial chevy. Service for a massachusetts state inspection sticker. The brand new 2015 chevy. Malibu failed the emissions portion of the state inspection test and I was informed by the imperial service dept. That the vehicle failed the state inspection and he (service dept. ) did not know why the vehicle failed but I was instructed to drive the vehicle around for approx. 100 miles and after the 100 miles to bring the vehicle back and imperial would re-test the vehicle. After driving around for approximately 100 miles I returned to the dealership and the vehicle passed the state inspection after the second test. At approx. 3,000- 30000 miles (at times) the vehicle would indicate (via indication panel) that the gas cap of the vehicle was loose. The tighten gas cap indicator light would come on and go off during operation of the vehicle. During several oil changes to the vehicle, I informed the service dept. Of the tighten gas cap indication but due to the light not being on during the oil charges the service dept. Could not find any issues with the vehicle. At approx. 33,000 miles the "tighten gas cap" indicator stayed on and after a while the check engine light also came on. I brought the vehicle to imperial chevy. Service and they found the "vent solenoid sticking" "code 0455" and replaced the vent solenoid. At approx. 40,000 miles the same issue started again, the vehicle would indicate that the gas cap was loose, the message would come on and then go off. At 45,000 miles once again, the light came on along with the check engine light. Once again, the vehicle was brought to chevy for service and once again the vent solenoid was found to be sticking and the same part (vent solenoid) was replaced. Same issue 3 times.

8 Check Engine Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2015

On may 28, my husband and I noticed these fumes in the car, but we didn't know where they were coming from. When we opened the car trunk, we found that the tire sealant in the compressor kit was leaking on it's own. He brought the car to the dealership's auto shop and the compressor kit was replaced. On July 19, the check engine light came on. I brought the car to the dealership's repair shop, again. I was told that the computer module that controls the engine wasn't working right and it had to be reprogrammed by updating it. They were very vague in explaining the problem. My husband called the repair shop on July 28 and asked them to explain what was wrong with the car. They still didn't explain the problem very well and they said that they already told his wife. The statement that the the repair shop gave us says "customer states that check engine light is on, verified concern scan code p2096, as per TSB pi409 perform ecm re program clear codes / rechecked system all at specs. " the mileage at that time was 2470.

Driving down I-65 sounth in nashville TN middle lane with no compromising road conditions of any kind, I got a warning about the stabilitrac system and then within 25-30 seconds the engine shut down completely. I was nearly rearended by numerous vehicles as this is a very busy interstate. I was finally able to restart the car -it would not go over 25 mph and get to the shoulder. The check engine light remained illuminated.
