I came to a red light the car went into auto stop mode, the brakes started loosing pressure I let off of the brakes it continued to roll backwards almost hitting the car behind me then it finally kicked into gear and said service stabilitrak and and also said power assist reduced drive with care then had the codes p3055 and p3056 and the car has 100,000 miles and is serviced regularly.
My Malibu only has 34k miles on it and is meticulously cared for. On August 10th, I went to start it. It would not start or turn on the lights. So I trickle charged it and 4 hours later when it finally turned on I had the battery checked. The battery is fine. However, the stabilitrac is not coming back on along with my cruise control and lane assist. The back up camera, back up camera lines, crash aversion sensors, and screen were not working properly for the majority of the 10th of August after the car came back on. The sreen has had issues in the past as well with not turning on along with showing the proper time, temperature, and more.
Vehicle transmission issue. Stabilitrak service warnings. Acceleration issues.
During highway speeds, engine light comes on, esc warning comes on, vehicle loses power and shudders. Was merging onto freeway when engine light and esc light came on, causing vehicle to reduce power, forcing an immediate reactions to avoid collision. Dealership says issues cannot be found.

The main issue with my vehicle is that when the vehicle is parked and I turn the car off the front panel will say that the vehicle is not in the parked position and won't allow the car to turn off. I have to push the start button on and off multiple times and shift the car in and out of park before the sensor can gauge that the car is in the parked position and will allow the car to be turned off. This often takes 5-20 min. When this happens the radio won't turn off, the dash board won't turn off and carr won't shut down. Also the car often gives me incorrect readings on the dash board.
My husband and I have a 2016 chevy Malibu. We bought it back in 2016 brand new. Since then, this has happened to us multiple times. We'll be on a busy highway then all of a sudden in the middle of fast paced traffic the car suddenly won't go above 30mph. It's very scary. The third time it was winter and I had all my younger siblings in the car, and I was pregnant (all under the age of 13) and we were on I-94 and it suddenly wouldn't go over 30mph again leaving us temporarily stranded until a family member had to come pick us all up. We brought it in and paid about $500 out of pocket due to throttle sensory issues. Now I am currently stuck at home today (5/6/2020) once again because it just happened again even though we got the issue fixed a couple months ago. Yesterday I was on a county road in the middle of the country with my infant/baby in the car and it happened again, the engine light went on and it said engine power is reduced and would not go over 30mph. It took me an hour to get to an autozone shop at this crawling speed with my flashers on (and a restless screaming baby) to have them read the engine code. . Sure enough they told me it is a throttle sensor issue. This is exhausting and dangerous!.
I was driving on my way to work and all of a sudden my cars lights come on the dash and say service stabilitytrak soon and reduced engine power as well as the check engine light. The car decrease speed to 25 mph and almost caused a wreck. I was not able to go over 25 miles an hours and was finally able to pull off and stop.
I purchased 2016 Malibu 10/2016 and after having the car for 6months the check engine/reduce speed lights starting coming on. I have taken it back over 20times and the issues was never fixed. I ask could they just replace the call since they are not able to fixed it. So, and still having this issues. Gm extended the recall and I took it back in yesterday March 18, 2020. I was told that my car was fixed and to pick it up. So, I get there didn't make it out the lot. So, I return back to the service desk and I was told my transmission is going out. So I ask why this isn't on my service sheet I was informed that it was wiped out and that I had to request it. Putting me back in danger. This has been a headache. I file a lemon law complaint and they offer my 4500 and I owe 18,000 on a car that have been giving me issues from the day one. Gm offering to settle out for 4500 is admitting fought.
While driving my radio turned off several times, engine light came on. A message saying low engine power came on several times and started to go slow while in motion.
While driving to my job and I pressed on the pedal brake, it felt like the brakes was having trouble to brake so I had to brake hard and drive carefully. It would make a sound when I would press down on the pedal. Took it to a mechanic and he told me that the abs is broken and that's what giving me a hard time to brake. He checked all of my brakes are still good and nothing wrong with them.
So I feel like there should be a recall if I had to read a lot of stories that are similar to mine. My vehicle was driving fine and then I get a signal on my dash as I am going up a hill saying that "engine power reduced" and my check engine light came on. I'm in the middle of a street trying to get to work and I could barely get up the hill. Thank goodness there wasn't a lot of traffic that time of day. I managed to make it to a store to get it checked out and the said something about a throttle unit replacement. It is supposed to control my acceleration. This is quite dangerous to keep happening and nothing be done about it when I have seen multiple complaints on it. I just wanted to share my story too and hopefully something can be fixed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that upon depressing the brake pedal at a stop light, the brakes became hard and would not operate normally. No warning lights illuminated on vehicle. The contact decided to changed the two front tires and had the brake pads replaced by an independent mechanic. Despite the repairs, the failure with the brakes continued to occur. The contact called landers Buick GMC 78 goodman rd e, southaven, ms 38671 where she made an appointment to have the vehicle serviced. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. Press on the gas and the car slows down to an almost stop position. While driving on a street or on the freeway, the car decides it wants to shut down. All electrical regarding the front and back cameras have gone black.
When I am driving my 2016 chevy Malibu will reduce speed in the middle of traffic. The dash reads engine reduced power. This has happened a lot times since I purchased my vehicle in September 2016. The dealership has notes of many times I have reported.
Every so often I get a stability control error on my dash as well as power engine has been reduced with a check engine light. Also every time it rains my car seems to be getting wet from the interior. All back rear seats and my ceiling.
The car when stop at traffic light shuts off and will not start. On star diagnostic have stated several times its due to engine issues. It sometimes seems as if it's drops in speed when driving. I was informed by the chevyland dealership that I had a software update and a thottle body injection issues that ironically my car didn't make the recall last however the same make, model cars have been listed.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving at various mph the brake pedal would make an abnormal grinding noise and the contact had to forcefully depress the pedal. The contact also stated the vehicle at random time skid when the brakes are depressed. However the vehicle was not taken to a local dealer or independant mechanic for diagnosing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of this failure. The contact is referencing the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v272000 ( electronic stability control) however the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 76,000 tp.
As I was driving from the va hospital in new orleans coming down the high rise bridge in dead traffic the car cut off the breaks got stiff it wouldnt start back up the engine power reduced light came on the stearing couldnt be controlled I thought I was going to die rolling out of control down the bridge thank god poeople moved out the way it could have been really bad I struggled to turn the stearing wheel so I wouldnt go of the side of the bridge and I finally rolled all the way down the bridge and got on the side I sat for alittle tried to start it the brakes was so stiff that it wouldnt start at first then I pushed hard and it started but the breaks didnt work and it would only go 20 to 30 miles an hour every time I hit the breaks the car would turn off I feared for my life because I had two more bridges to go over until I got home and been sitting at home no transpertation called chevy matt bowers and they told me I had to pay to have it towed plus pay 135. 00 dollars an hour for them to just look at im a disabled veteran I bought this brand new car thinking it was liable transpertation to get me back and forth to my doctors I bought this cxar brand new in 2016 and had nothing but problems with it im not a healthy man and I depend on this to get me to my doctors I get alittle money and didnt buy this car so it could break down this early in time I trusted them with my life and they told me I wouldnt have any problems getting to my doctors at the veterans hospital in new orleans.
Brought the car August 2019. Began having problems the next month. While driving on the highway. My engine light popped on and a warning message read, "engine speed reducing. " I was almost rear-ended because of this. This is very dangerous and a common problem that needs to be fixed. Nothing is covered under warranty.
My car just stopped cranking and its like I have all the power turned off, I was in my yard. I thought it was the battery, changed it still no change. My airbag repair light keeps coming on and my car had been running fine all day fine until I parked it and everything stopped.
takata recall I found 2 recalls that match the systems of my vehicle perfectly however when I put my VIN in. The recalls do not come up. Here are the recall numbers I am referring to. 51230, and 39440. When the engine power reduced happens usually on the highway only has happened a few times on the street. When braking a noice is coming from under the hood and the engine light comes on.
When I come to a stop the auto stop comes on but when I try to accelerate it stalls and I get a message on dash steering asst assist reduced and another message thst states service stabilitrac, then the car moves.
Takata recall- my car is decreasing speed, switching gears while driving, my car keeps telling me to shift to park while the car is already parked and not cutting off. The car keeps dropping to zero on my dash board while I'm driving and shaking while I'm driving. My sensor system keeps flashing stabilitalk and steering power service, reduced speed.
Engine failure. My car went completely out while driving home. The stabikitrak pop on, engine light pop on, brakes locked up making it hard for me to stop the car in traffic. I hope they are planning on doing something about this because I shouldn't have to be afraid for my life. This car is definitely not safe.
While on vacation road trip to several northwestern states, while turning around in a parking lot, about to exit, car completely shuts off - no warning lights or nothing, just shuts off, looked under hood, nothing unusual, waited about five minutes, car started with stiil no warning lights . We were able to make it back to texas with no other problems. Checked internet and there were no recalls - however there were several other occurrences of this happening to other Malibus. Upon return home phoned my dealership and made them aware of what happened, they informed me that they were not aware of anything like this happening, they encouraged me to file this complaint because there was nothing they could do at this time due to they have nothing stating this has happened.
The car shuts off in traffic. I can be at a stop light and the car just shuts off. All the lights in car flash and vehicle just shuts off. The engine light stays on in vehicle. This has been happening everyday for about a month now.
The high mounted tail light pops up and has caused leakage inside the vechile. Also the esc warning light come on for no reason under regular driving conditions and occasionally when you put car in park it will state the car is not in park so you have to play with the shifter a little.
While driving on highway my "stabilitrak" light flashed on and I was unable to accelerate. I pulled over and while breaking the car was hopping. Turned the car off and back on and various lights came on (stabilitrak, check engine, traction control and steering assist). I attempted to start driving again and the car would not accelerate appropriately. Had it towed to dealership who couldn't find anything wrong with it because all the alerts had turned off.
Car completely turned off at a red light and had no power. Steering locks up and had to push car have towed& then it started right up after. This is happening to many people and it stops even when the car is driving. This is a safety issue.
Takata recall my windows don't work at times no power my trunk will not release it's not unlocking my dashboard reads engine is reducing power while driving & it shuts off while driving my radiator light is on been on for 8months now the car won't pick up speed without me shifting the car in l6 while driving my throttle not working the fuel system has been repaired several times.
When shifter was placed into park in a public parking lot, the vehicle displayed a "shift to park" error and would not turn off. The issue continued despite two dealer repair attempts. I have been unable to shut off the vehicle in my garage, in my driveway, and at numerous public parking lots. Later, the vehicle smacked the brakes without driver input while I was driving on the highway and displayed a "stabilitrak" error. When I pulled into a parking lot and shifted to park, it again displayed the "shift to park" error and would not turn off. Eventually I was able to turn off the vehicle. When I restarted it, it displayed "stabilitrak" error and "power steering" error. I disabled the stabilitrak system in order to get back on the road because I was in a remote area with no place to get the car fixed. While driving, the vehicle would turn the stabilitrak system back on and smack the brakes. A few seconds later, the speedometer and tachometer dropped to zero while the vehicle was still moving on the highway, and the climate control system stopped working. This issue continued to repeat itself while I was driving the vehicle to the dealership for repair.
