An independent mechanic was unable to duplicate the failures. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control); however, the parts needed for the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer was notified and did not know when the parts would arrive. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

2010 Chevrolet Malibu applied brakes and car continued to travel and not stop. On July 16, 2014, the consumer was involved in an accident, due to the above mentioned statement. The vehicle was totaled. The consumer referenced recall # 14v252000.

2004 Chevrolet Malibu experiencing power steering problems, abs and shift cable, all replaced. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the repair shop seven times, due to power steering failure, which resulted in the steering locking up. The consumer was involved in two accidents, in which the air bags failed to deploy. The consumer received a transmission, steering and brake recall. However, the parts were not available.

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact indicated that the esc sensor, traction control sensor, and the engine reduced power warning sensor illuminated several times. The contact mentioned that the failure mainly happened during cold weather. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). The recall failed to remedy the failure. In addition, the contact stated that while traveling approximately 70 mph, the vehicle started to shake violently and drastically reduced to 10 mph which made operating the vehicle extremely difficult. The vehicle was merged over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

I was driving down the road at 50 miles per hour and the abs,traction control, and esc service lights went on the dashboard. Felt a small jerk in the car and then it continued to drive normally lights remained on.

I've had my car in the warranty repair shop 6 times in the last 3 months. First occurrence I was driving down the road and my warning lights came on for esc off, service traction control, service esc at 20 mph. They've replaced 4 parts on my car and today the same lights service traction control and service esc have come on once again. It varies (speed doesn't matter) whether or not going down the highway or stopping in a driveway when it comes on but warning lights will come on when you touch the brakes. I also observed that the brake lights stay on while going down the road (when its dark outside) but when you apply the brakes the brake lights go off. I feel this could be dangerous if someone is following behind you and thinks that you have let off the brakes but you are actually slowing down. I don't think that they have an apparent fix for this issue as I see several reports from vehicles ranging from 2008 to 2012 online complaining about this same issue. I am to take my car back again for service next week to hopefully get it repaired but I am not so sure they are going to find the problem after already having it in there so many times for the same issue. It is intermittant. When you turn the car off after this occurs the lights will go off. Sometimes only for a short period other times for a week to 3 weeks before it comes on again.

I own a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. When driving at various speeds, the service traction, service esc and esc off warning lamps illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician advised that the body control module was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 57,000 and the current mileage was 67,000 plus. When my foot is on the brake the brake lights go off. Upon taking foot off the brake the brake lights stay on.
