Two problems related to trunk lid have been reported for the 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
If the trunk was in the open position and the slightest wind blew, the trunk slammed down abruptly. Please describe further.
The springs on the trunk seem very weak and have had my head hit by trunk lid coming down while loading in a slight wind. The trunk lid springs should be upgraded as newer models come out.
