Two problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When driving at any speed engine check light came on and stayed on. The vehicle was taken to a service station, they diagnosed that the transmission code #1870 component was slipping.
While driving about 35-40 mph tried to shift gears from forward to reverse, and caused vehicle to go into a full spin. Vehicle was towed to the dealership. Dealer was not able to find out what was causing this problem. Consumer experienced this problem again on December 14, 1999. Vehicle is at the dealership again for this problem.
