As he depressed the brake pedal, the pedal fell into the floorboard much farther than usual. The contact inspected the vehicle and found that both brake lines on the driver's and passenger's side were rusted and fractured. The contact replaced the brake lines. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was contacted. The failure and current mileages were 138,000. Updated 09/28/10 updated 10/01/jb.
Consumer states: brakes failed, the brakes were fine all of a sudden brake pedal went to the floor. The brake line rusted completely. Brake lines were made out of cheap steel and were coated with some type of heavy paint. They only rusted in one spot, and that was on the portion of the brake line that was not coated in the heavy paint. The brake line components were replaced.
