The cable harness in question runs from the fuse box under hood through firewall to the passenger side foot area. At this point it connects to another harness that connects to various items at the rear of the vehicle. One circuit in particular the rear window defogger is burning wiring and socket and plug of the two wiring harness. Either the wiring or connectors burned apart without the circuit fuse blowing. The circuit has a 40amp fuse. The wiring harness for this circuit is 12 garage. I can't find any manufacturer who recommends using 12 gauge wire on a 40 amp circuit. This isn't even close to being correct. This is so agreegessly out of specification it would appear gm knew they had an issue with the circuit and fixed it by over fusing the circuit. This same issue on multiple models over several years.

Today my wipers decided they would park in a straight up 12 o clock position, due to a tab that gets bent on the wiper parking mechanism. I know my car isn't the only one that has done it, a lot of other chevy's have as well, and its a safety issue for sure, kind of hard to see with 2 wipers in my vision, due to a faulty tab that needs to be recalled. General motors/chevy is well aware of the issue to, as they've released a TSB on it, and even made an updated parking mechanism with a stronger parking tab to stop this issue.

Passenger side wiper failed, had to spend $50 in shop to get it to work properly.
Rear defogger quit working. Fuses all checked to be good. The wire harness by the interior fuse box had a burned contact. The plastic was charred and melted. The contacts for the defogger damaged. Luckily, this did not result in a fire, though looking at the damage, it was entirely possible. I have pictures if needed. Repairs have been made to allow for visibility while driving.

Went out one morning to start my car and let it warm up. Turned the wipers on to clear the windshield, and they went h alfway up and stopped. Shut them off, and the parked in the up position from then on. When traveling down the interstate with them in the up position, they would vibrate excessively due to the wind, and I thought they would be ripped off the glass. Had to have the entire assembly fixed, for $700. This has happened a lot with this model car from what I've seen and read.
