Two problems related to fuel hoses lines/piping and fittings have been reported for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Brake lines and fuel lines must be replaced due to excessive rusting. Blew a brake line and had no brakes at all. Additionally, the frame has rusted through and had to be welded. Looking at repair costs between $1500 - $3000 depending upon how this goes.
2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 4 wheel drive z71 off road, 58420 miles, was stopped with foot depressed on brake pedal, felt pedal go all the way to the floor. Had to accelerate and had no brakes. Brake fluid leak due to rusted brake line. After further inspection all brake lines, fuel lines, ehcu brake line connection are all rusted. Brake line is in the process of being replaced but at a stand still at the moment due to a leak at the ehcu connection due to pitting, there isn't a tight connection. Still in the process of repairs. Have all parts.
