1 Instrument Panel Failure problem

My 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500's gauges on the instrument panel are malfunctioning. While on the interstate the speedometer reading started showing speeds of over 100 mph while cruising at 70 mph. When I turned the truck of the gauge did not drop below 75. Since I first noticed this issue the gauge has continued to read an improper speed. The misreading has fluctuated from 20 to 75 mph off of the correct speed. The rpm gauge has also been doing the same thing.

2 Instrument Panel Failure problem

My speedometer on the instrument panel either fails completely, works when it wants to, or reads inaccurately, thereby causing a serious safety situation when driving my vehicle on public roadways; putting me and the other community members where I drive in harms way since I can't tell how fast/slow I am going!.

3 Instrument Panel Failure problem

Failure Date: 12/31/2007

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact noticed that the instrument panel gauges malfunction and display inaccurate readings. The dealer replaced the oil semi-unit. Immediately after the repair, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they stated that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced at the cost of over $500. The manufacturer did not assist. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 56,000 and current mileage was 107,000.
