Dashboard Crack problems of the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Cracked dashboard in several places. Possible obstruction of passenger side air bag in the event of deployment. Pieces of dashboard might become sharp pieces flying around the cab in case of a collision.

My dashboard has a few cracks in it and they appeared over time due to the quality of the product. The safety concern is it is cracking around the passenger air bag which could affect the efficiency of the airbag. The product wear was mostly affected while the vehicle was stationary.

My dash has cracks in many places that started within 6 months after the warranty expired. It continues to get worse. However what concerns me the most is they're three located around the passenger side airbag. How is this not a safety issue? if my airbag inflates the dash could puncture the airbag or pieces can be thrown toward the passenger or even the driver. If you search gm cracked dash you will find endless articles and videos of people with the same issue. This vehicle is driven by my teenage son who I would definitely want the airbags to work properly and not get punctured when inflated during a crash. Also as stated by many others we don't have a $1000 + to spend on a dash that should have never cracked in the first place.
