After having driven vehicle a short distance for an appointment, truck would not start an hour later; however, lights came on dash. I waited 10 seconds and tried it again, and it started no problem. Then no problem starting the next time but driving around town the radio start shutting off for about 3 seconds before coming back on. This happened a few times, then as I am driving, the entire electrical system starts going haywire, lights flashing on dash with warning lights & messages going off on dash, then everything but the engine shuts off (dash lights, gauges, radio and a/c), after about 5 seconds everything comes back on. I immediately drive to my mechanic who hooked up the computer to my truck and said it was my ignition switch. He said he could not get me in that day and asked me to bring it back the next day. So the rest of that day I did not have any further problems with it. The next day I took it to my mechanic and got the ignition switch replaced. While the mechanic had my truck for several hours until I could go back to pick it up, he said he started it many times and it appeared to be fixed. So I leave the mechanic shop and go back to work, then get off work 2-3 hours later and my truck will not start. After attemping it 3 times, it started. I drive home which is 10 minutes away and turn the truck off and back on. Only when I attempt to turn the truck on, it will not start. This time nothing happens. . . No clicking sound or any attempts of the engine wanting to start. . . . No lights on the dash like before. It was 2 hours later before I was able to get just lights to come on the dash, then another 30 minutes went by before I was able to get my truck to start. This is day 3 of dealing with it and I drove it to work and back home with no problems. I called mechanic who said sounds like a grounding problem. I said sounds like computer system.
Door locks stick when hot outside and break lights won't go off. . I have been pulled over by police and given a warning to get lights fixed. . I took it to a repair shop they think it could be the wiring harness or don't know what is causing it. . But it's dangerous to drive.
On multiple occurrences, driving at varying speeds, without traction control disengaged, the parking brake and traction controls warning lights and sounds activated for no apparent reason. The lcd dic indicated stabilitrak off and service brake system messages. Tried engaging and disengaging both the parking brake and traction control with no change. When the parking brake was engaged however, the sounder began sounding again and when disengaged it would shut off. Service brakes, rotors and calipers were replaced approximately 4000-4500 miles ago. First occurrence was about 1000 miles ago. Has occurred 3 times total. Possible bad abs sensor?.
Passing a vehicle on county black top road, accelerated to intiate passing gear. Accelerater stuck eng rpm at full speed. Attempted to alleviate to no avail. Attempted to shift to neutral but went into reverse also applied brakes. As a result there were 420 ft. Of skid marks then right front wheel hit shoulder of road and vehicle went end over end landing in ditch on its top. The air bags did not deploy and there iwas no recorded incidence on the data recorder. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance CO. My concern is that this vehicle could be rebuilt and put back on the road as drivable vehicle since it had only 13,000 miles on it. If no cause for the malfunction can be determined there is a distinct possibility this could happen again with possible loss of life.
