Failure Date: 08/06/2022

Vehicle abruptly malfunctioned (lose of power) while sitting at the traffic light during a heavy storm. Fortunately, I turned the vehicle off and restarted it, which gave me enough engine power to get a a safe place. I had the vehicle towed to love Chevrolet, columbia, SC. Dealership stated the entire wiring harness needed to be replaced. The replacement cost would be $3500. They also stated the wiring harness for this vehicle has been discontinued and I have to take the vehicle to an electrical shop to be fixed.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2018

The engine doesn't slow down imediatly after you release accelerator. . Also the electric system comes on and off in motion. . . Also sometimes speakers work and sometimes the don't . . . In motion or not. . I lost control of the truck and hit a tree going about 40 mph no airbags were deployed. . .

Dash board cracks everywhere! I been using sun reflector sinc a bought the truck but cracks still coming out cheap material!!!.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2012

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact was driving 5 mph when the vehicle abnormally accelerated. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic and the manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 23,000 and the current mileage was 23,050.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while traveling 40 mph, the check engine and power train waring lights illuminated as the vehicle stalled. The contact also mentioned that a message stating that the engine power reduced had also appeared before the vehicle stalled. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer, who stated that the throttle body position sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where the throttle body was cleaned and the computer was replaced but to no avail. The manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
