12/15/2020 - noticed service air bag warning in morning as I pulled into parking for work. When leaving for lunch no warning on - as I pulled out of parking warning appeared again - as I leaned forward to read - loud bang and was pulled back into seat by hard retraction of seatbelt. Followed by smell of burning. Parked car, struggled to get out of seatbelt - looked around for damage - nothing - only seatbelts stuck retracted. Drove home carefully - plugged in obd 2 reader - four codes; b0015-04, b0022-00, b0052-04, b101d-00. First two indicate seat belt pretensioner deployed, third is deployment command, final is ecu hardware. Took to ase shop and was informed that the control unit indicated a collision - there was no collision - and belts were deployed. Asked what caused this and response was computer error. . . . I am just thankful I was moving at 5 mph vice 65 on the highway. Gonna cost $2500 to fix replacing seatbelts and srs control unit, and a few day to get over a bruised shoulder.
