Wiper problem #1

Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that while driving, the front passenger window dropped down independently. The vehicle was taken to catalano motors inc at 8327 erie rd, angola, NY 14006 where they diagnosed that the steel cable fractured due to rust and the needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,209. Ak.

Wiper problem #2

The wipes starred while driving going slow and would just stop. Which after talking to car specialist was told it was tge motor had hone bad. The truck only has 90k on it should this happen so soon? this is very dangerous to suddenly happen with no warning or indication the motor was going bad. My husband was driving to work on highway and in city a 30 to 40 minutes away from home.

Wiper problem #3

Wipers run very slowly and sometimes stop. This can be dangerous when it's raining and has caused me to stop due to not being able to clear the windshield. This has happened two other times. The problem is intermittent. I've read this may make the wiper motor work harder which could lead to a fire.

Wiper problem #4

While driving on a cool morning (55° f) the driver side defogged, but the passenger side would defog. I turned the temp warmer and the airflow up, but the passenger side was still very slow to defog. There was very low airflow coming from the vent on the passenger side. After the temp/airflow was adjusted to a reasonable setting, the passenger side suddenly fogged up again, immediately impeding visibility out of the passenger side of the windshield and the passenger window, also blocking visibility of the passenger mirror. Was advised by dealer that the cause was an improperly installed seal adjacent to the heater core, but not covered by any recall or warranty. This should be recalled, as sudden fogging and loss of visibility at highway speeds could likely result in an accident.

Wiper problem #5

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving at a highway rate of speed, the window wiper motor failed and caused the wipers not to work. The contact had to quickly adjust the wipers in inclement weather. The vehicle was to be taken to a mechanic for diagnostic testing and repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Wiper problem #6

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 60 mph, an abnormal sound emitted from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the leaf spring fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the passenger side windshield wiper became inoperable without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed; however, the windshield wiper module was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,000.

Wiper problem #7

I brought my '13 silverado in for service because the a/c would not come on and defog the windshield in the recent snow storm. The service rep (correctly) informed me that the a/c compressor will not turn if the temperature is below 40ºf. So no fix by the dealer was done. This is a safety issue in cold/freezing weather conditions where the windshield fogs up severely when you get in the truck. The fogging continues even after the heater is warmed up and blowing hot air out the defroster ducts especially if the passengers are wet or snowy when they get in. I do understand that gm is trying prevent the a/c evaporator from being blocked by freezing condensation, but it seems to me that this situation could be helped by recirculation of cabin air plus bleeding some hot air from the heater core back to the a/c evaporator. This issue really needs to be fixed so that the truck is truly an "all weather vehicle" in falling snow below 40º.
