Lifter ticking and lifter collapse. Stability and traction control system working improperly and flashed on and off and the truck started to hesitate and jerk. Oil consumer is excessive. This all occurred while driving on a city street without any prior problem. There were no check engine light or other �idiot light� warnings before the lifter clicking started or the stability and traction control system acted up.
The check engine light blinks off and on,traction and stability goes off then back on ,engine runs and idles rough and sometimes shifts hard. This happens while driving and sitting still (for the lights and rough idle) not the hard shifting. While searching on internet ,found it was a common problem with the 5. 3l chevy/GMC engine.
