general problems of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The bus is always parked on the road, my phone slid off the console, when I reached for it, I accidentally moved the truck to the right, and before I hit the bus, I did not have enough time to correct my mistake. I have forgotten everything that occurred from Saturday the 18th up until Friday the 24th. I kept massive migraines the entire week. Now I just have some headaches. The part that scared me the most, is when I realized, not one single air bag deployed. I personally, am so thankful I was able walk away from it. I will never buy another chevy silverado.

Hi, I had all my side curtain airbags deploy in my truck without any accident and under normal driving conditions. The fronts did not deploy. I had no warning lights or airbag light prior to this event. I spoke with my insurance and they wanted to have my truck inspected. I took it to my local gm dealer. They inspected my truck and looked at the data from the airbag system and determined that they found no reason for why they should've gone off. The force from the airbag was such that I was in a daze and did not know what was going on. If this would've happened on the freeway during heavy traffic I am certain I would not have stayed in my lane and caused a very serious crash involving other vehicles. Lucky this was not the case and there were no cars close to me. The next morning when I woke up I had severe neck pain and an impaired memory. I went into urgent care to get looked at. They performed an x-ray and said it was okay and that it was just severe whiplash.

The 6l80 is known for there bad parts and going out. The transmissions are braking down on accout of poor craftsmanship and cheap parts. Plus my truck is shutting off and back on while driving which caused me to rear-end another truck and not one air bag deployed and it pushed the other trucks bumper all the way under his tail gate and my front bumper has enough damage that the airbags should've went off.

On December 14th 2021 while traveling on interstate 90 from hardin montana to billings montana I hit a large granite boulder that had fallen off of a semi, I had my cruise control set where I always set it at 77 mph. The boulder was around 500 lbs and was roughly 30 inches tall by 24 wide. It launched my truck in the air and I flew about 17 to 20 feet before touching down. I impacted the boulder just to the right of center of the bumper and it tore everything from the bumper to the firewall. Extremely violent impact and I hit my head on the sun visor and chin on the steering wheel. Not one of the airbags deployed. The first person on scene was montana highway dept employee who was one minute behind me. He and myself as well as the responding highway patrol were shocked that the airbags did not deploy. Since that accident I have had multiple things wrong with my neck my knees as well as my hips and back. Im pretty sure im messed up for life.

I bought this 2014 silverado new. The headlights are fogging up on the inside which makes it unsafe to drive at night. Also , the steering wheel is coming apart around the air bag , which may get in the way of me safely steering it or might cause the air bags to deploy. This vehicle is stored in a climate controlled enviroment every day. It does not sit outside, so the sun had nothing to do with this. I contacted gm and they said they would'nt help me. Please help as this is a safety issue not being able to see at night. Thanks. This vehicle only has 26000 miles on it. I own several gm vehicles , but this is the only one I have had trouble with.

The contact called on behalf of the vehicle owner and driver his mother whom passed away due to injuries sustained in a head on collision. His mother owned a 2014 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated that per the vehicle's on-star report his mother was driving at 41 mph at point of impact however, the other vehicle was drifting in and out of the on-coming travel lanes. The contact stated that the point of impact was to the front driver side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle air bags deployed. The front seat passenger in the other vehicle was in a coma, sustaining injuries to the chest and head. The driver passed away on impact. The contact mentioned that NHTSA campaign number: 19v64500 (service brakes, hydraulic) recall notice was received several months after the collision and inquired if it was related to the collison. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

Air bag error lights error.

I hit a pole. Had a minor accident. Was able to drive away as I drive down the road, my airbags deployed while I was driving. All of the airbags. Nearly causing me to run off of the road. Because they deployed I suffered bruising. They did not deploy when I had the minor accident, but about 30 minutes afterwards.

Takata recall- since we first purchased the unit, we have been having problems with it. It first started with with suspension and the wheels, it was doing an awful lot of shaking in the interior and also causing the tires to ware out quicker. Now the airbags are not functioning correctly, we keep getting messages on the dash to service the problems but we I take it to the dealership they keep saying nothing is wrong and to not worry about it, but I am a mother of 2 small children and I am worried.

Takata recall - just received a letter saying takata filed for backrupcy to contact my dealer. They said no parts are available.

I bought this truck one month ago and was told there were no recalls. When I went in for service three recalls were found. I was lied to by the car dealer and I feel my life is in danger.

Traveling appx. 60 mph CT rte 8 when deer appeared swerved to avoid direct impact lost steering control struck unknown went airborne landed hard struck unknown no injuries however no airbag deployment either occurred 4/07/17 appx. 2200 hrs youthful driver w/one passenger both seatbelted suffered front end & subframe damage causing motor to move toward cabin currently at body shop to determine repairablity.

I ran the VIN for our vehicle and contacted the local Chevrolet dealership. I gave them the VIN, they explained that there was two recalls, so I made an appointment to have them fixed (both safety related). Upon arrival - they said there was no recall in there system. I checked both the NHTSA and gm recall sites, and they both show the issue as unresolved. Manufacturer recall number 2016007, NHTSA recall number 16v651 and n150822, 16v209. The dealership claims there is nothing under our VIN.

This truck had a steering failure causing a collision and it was a minor front collision. The worse part is Chevrolet denies a problem but the internet is full of complaints. During the collision on the front strangely the curtain airbags is all that deployed leaving driver completely unprotected!!! the steering came back on after. Then I get a notice that the airbag control module is recalled because it may not work or deploy bags wrongfully. That's what happened. The truck has 24000 miles on it and the steering failed in the rain making me swing out almost striking a school bus full of small children. I had it towed to a chevy dealer after having and photographing with a time stamp 6 codes for a module failure. The chevy dealer calls and lies to me and did there are no codes or voltage to the motor and it may be a wire from the accident I told them about. The accident was minor and only required minor repair and a bumper. I think general motors needs a investigation into this and owe me curtain air bags and headliner. This company is irresponsible and defiant in defective moister sensitive due to lack of sealing according to hundreds and hundreds of internet postings. I owe 34,000. 00 on this junk unsafe product and complained and only get jerked around. Abc news has contacted me back for a story as soon as I here back from you.

Waited 12 years to afford a new truck and were stuck with this lemon. 14 active recalls paid over $1k for repair work not covered by warranty had the vehicle one year (2015) had to have the seats repaired. Air bag issues and the dealer said it wasn't covered either. As of today I have spent almost $3k on this truck for something that you wouldn't think a new truck would have to repair. The rear end went out at christmas (2016) really. Come on chevy you've gotta do better than this. Offer is something for our troubles. Will not buy or recommend a chevy product.

Was in a accident and only the curtain air bags deployed. Was only and right front low speed bump and the truck barely hit and did night tilt. I paid out of pocket for repairs but the curtain air bags. Now trouble codes show everything as a open circuit. I feel the wrong airbags deployed. This truck only has 23000 miles on it too.

Electrical, get numerous warnings hood open, theft alert, air bag, transmission, horn beeps numerous all times of day evening, key fob afraid to lock doors have to reset numerous times to stop horn from sounding. . . Pia electrical been to dealer put new battery in still problem still persists stared at 20,000 car now has 40,000 mls.

On March 20, 2016, my right front tire went off of the shoulder of the pavement and I lost control of the vehicle. I slammed into a brick mailbox at a speed of 45 mph thus causing the airbag to deploy. I sustained an approximate 3 inch long gash on my forehead from the airbag.

There was a death in this vehicle on a state highway GA I-20 wb. Police reports were filed. The vehicle was unsalvagable. Recalls issued are dated after this date.

The vehicle was involved in a front end collision at approximately 45 mph resulting in serious injury to the driver and significant, irreparable damage to the vehicle resulting in a total loss. At no time did the airbags within the vehicle deploy, which further contributed to the injury of the driver.

While driving my 2014 chevy z71 down a bumpy gravel road the side curtain airbags deployed for no reason.
