Throttle body?/ accelerator pedal sensor?.
This in addition to complaint form number:11699917 I have found the two forms issued by the gm global corp. One is a recall the other a bulletin about the hpfp fuel regulator to be replaced because it was known to fail. The first actual recall (13370 ) states that 25,000 vehicles were involved. The symptoms they stated are all the same that the vehicle I own are having including fuel fumes in the cab and under the hood . In 13370 right at the top it states urgent so this problem is definitely a safety concern for fire or explosion. In 13370a they eliminated a lot of these details including the words urgent and the amount of vehicles that were involved in this recall. And at the bottom of 13370a it also states that the following two paragraphs does not pertain to canada , this is important because my vehicle was born in canada ????. So everything stated above that involves canada manufacturing also. So this means my vehicle should be included in this recall also like I stated in my complaint to this safety commission 11699917 . My vehicle has the 5. 3 , it’s a 1500 silverado and it’s a 2014. Recalls don’t expire for safety as far as I heard. There is no reasonable explanation as to why this vehicle was excluded except it was manufactured in canada and fell through the cracks of their recall . Without a recall they will not look at any bulletin for this safety issue on my vehicle. This is a very expensive repair to be done and gm knows this also.
My vehicle produced a check engine light then it started to be hard to start . Then I started to smell fuel in the cab and strong smell of fuel under the hood . I cannot see the leak so it has to be the hpfp located under the intake manifold and the fuel is being absorbed by the insulation located under the intake. In January 2014 the gm corporation issued a voluntary or bulletin for this year truck and the 5. 3,engine for having installed the wrong fuel regulator in these pumps. Bulletin number 13370a states this exact problem. This vehicle was produced in a canadian plant therefore fell through the cracks in there recall/bulletin . This is a safety problem that I cannot get repaired under warranty or anything. This vehicle is prone to start on fire that’s why they issued the bulletin but since it was canada born they really do not want to help me and say it isn’t on their recall list even though it is the exact problem they list . And since it isn’t on their recall list they won’t even look at the bulletin to see about goodwill warranty either to cover the repair. Why is this vehicle with the same year and same make and same engine excluded , because it’s made in canada it doesn’t make the list of recalls in the gm world.
When my speed decreases to slow for a turn, traffic, red light,etc-I lose complete power in my entire vehicle. A too fast message pops up on dash about stabilitrak. If I throw it in neutral fast enough it’s fine, but if I don’t, my truck loses all power and I have to open and close my door, restart my truck, the dash tells me to open and close my driver window, and it drives again but my time and date restarts on my dash screen like I disconnected the battery. It doesn’t happen every day. But when it does, it’s scary because I can’t get out of the road. This occurs unexpectedly several times a month for the past few months. I’ve checked for loose battery cables, etc.
I was driving into a parking doing less than 10 mph trying to angle park my truck. Suddenly my truck accelerated violently hitting another vehicle in the parking lot in the right rear and turning it around. Was hitting the brakes to no avail. Truck continued to accelerate and I aimed for a sign support pole while depressing the brakes as hard as I could. Truck hit the pole and the air bag deployed. Front of my truck was caved in and the truck was ruled unrepairable by my insurance company. I could have been badly injured or killed but thankfully sign support pole stopped me. Have a police report but was unable to scan it to my pc so I said there was no report.
Check engine light came on. P0442 code. Brought for service. Needed to replace fuel components but frame too rusted to mount parts. Told to see body shop for repair if possible. No rust on bed or body . Body shop could not repair frame. Body shop said frame is no longer safe to drive. Unable to pass state inspection. 97000 mi , no commercial use. Well maintained.
I have a couple issues, check trailer wiring light, heat from air conditioner, rusty frame undercarriage - really bad , plus rocker panels on both sides rusting out, is there a recall on issues with rusting of frame ? please help my truck only a 2014 plus had dealer work on air conditioner issues before, dealer never mentioned anything about rust on the frame, when I had multiple oil changes, and many other services done at dealer , I bought my truck from dealer in stow ohio ! is there any you can do to help me fix these issues?….
- 2014 silverado afm/dfm/lifter failure. - while driving, truck misfired and lost power without warning or check engine light. - truck abruptly slowed down, forced to pull over putting myself and others in danger. - turned off engine and restarted, still no check engine light. - started driving again but had constant misfires and ticking noises. - took truck immediately to the shop. - service center confirmed lifter failure and common issues with afm/dfm. - the truck is a one owner vehicle which is current on all maintenance/service. - no previous symptoms or warnings of premature lifter failure.
Heavy smell of gasoline in the cab and the bed of my truck as well as outside of the truck began on February 23, 2023. The truck is also harder to turn over or start since the smell has begun. Due to the gasoline smell, it is causing a nauseous feeling, severe headaches, coughing and a red flush over my wife’s face when she is in the truck. The transmission line leak has been leaking for quite some time and I have to replace the transmission fluid a least a quart of fluid every two weeks. I was not notified of the safety recalls for the fuel pump pressure regulator and the transmission oil cooler line leak/ fire danger on my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have taken my truck to be assessed by the Chevrolet dealer on 03/13/2023, and they determined that my truck does indeed have both of these safety recall problems but that they will not repair them. They stated it is a closed recall and my 95k+ miles were too high. The safety recall bulletin #14121 and #13370a both state no mileage limitation and declare my make and model affected by these safety failures. I have paid off the loan to my truck early only to be unable to drive it safely or enjoy it. I have never been late on any of my payments and was proud to pay it off early. This model truck has had several recalls including an incident with the front wheel falling off due to a mechanical failure, that was shocking and frightening when it happened after only owning it for approx. 2 years. With the fuel leaking and carbon monoxide, and the transmission fluid leaking, the dealer should take responsibility and repair these problems that they know are a safety and fire issue as stated in the recall bulletins and make my vehicle operable again. I am only asking that the dealership provide me with the repairs they said are needed to the failures caused by improper installations and or faulty equipment from the manufacturer as stated in the safety bulletin recalls.
2014 chevy silverado. Drove the truck 0. 9 miles from my residence to bank to withdraw money from atm. Noticed a strong fuel odor when I exited the vehicle. Verified fuel leak while the truck was running. Had the vehicle towed to local Chevrolet dealership where they inspected and confirmed fuel leak under the manifold. Removed intake and found low pressure line, at the high pressure is blown off. All 4 retaining tabs were broken and secondary latch was laying off to the side. No warning lamps and no other symptoms were noticed prior to failure. No tampering or previous repairs in area. This is a major safety/fire risk, l am lucky no one was hurt.
My 2014 silverado had a hose leak in 2018. Three years later I have the exact same issue. It’s a refrigerant leak. It has not been inspected this time around because it’s clear that this will be an ongoing expensive problem that I cannot afford. It’s in the 100’s out here and even hotter in a vehicle. My family and are getting sick from heat exhaustion I need immediate relief, please.
Started leaking gas from the back side of the motor.
I chose a used 2014 chevy silverado with 180k miles. I met my salesperson, bernard, on site at pugmire Ford, in carrollton, GA. When I test drove the vehicle, the truck had off road tires, so I requested that pugmire put regular tires on the truck before taking possession. They agreed and the truck was delivered a few days later. Soon after delivery, I noticed a soft noise seemingly coming from the engine. I informed my salesperson bernard of the issue. He asked me to bring the truck back for review. I did & bernard told me it had something to do with the exhaust so don't worry about it. It will go away after a few drivecycles. I didn't believe him so I had the obd checked, that indicated that the catalytic converter had failed. I sent the document to bernard, then I asked if the vehicle had a recent emissions inspection, he said he didn't know. He apologized, but stated that they would not be responsible for any repairs to the vehicle. At this point, I reminded bernard 1. It is illegal to sell a vehicle that cannot pass emissions 2. That my bank had not yet mailed the check. With that mind, pugmire Ford finally agreed to pay for the replacement of the catalytic converter. So I agreed to authorize my bank to send the check. Pugmire had arranged for the truck to be fixed at g&s auto and they paid for the work. But after repair, the check engine light returned. So I took it back to g&s to ask why. That's when they determined the catalytic converter had failed due to internal engine damage. They recommended another shop for a 2nd opinion. That shop is called all pro automotive. All pro confirmed the damage and provided a quote for the repairs. Pugmire Ford voided all claims of the vehicle being an an as-is purchase when they paid to replace the catalytic converters. They took ownership of it, and opted out after they received the check from my bank.
I have experienced engine failure in my 2014 silverado 6. 2l on 3 separate occasions. All caused by the afm system. Rockers lock into the wrong position while transforming from 4 cylinder to 8 cylinder operation. The first two occurrences bent lifters and caused a failure to the catalytic converter. A certified gm service department at a local dealership replaced parts covered by warranty. On the third occasion the rockers locked into the wrong position, bent push rods, damaged the cam shaft and caused a failure in the catalytic converter. It was taken to the same gm service department at lou fusz Chevrolet. My 5 year warranty had expired and gm refused to cover the parts they had previously replaced a year prior. I was quoted approximately $10k for repairs and $16k for full engine replacement. After some back and forth with the service department manager I requested to speak with the lead mechanic. He informed me that it was an afm system problem he was very familiar with. He stated to me that I would be better off taking it to a private shop and bypassing the afm system as he was “working on” 10-15 vehicles a month with the same issue. At the time I had reached out to gm corporate about the issue and I did not receive a correspondence. I have all of the paperwork and receipts and all other service records dating back to my purchase of the vehicle in 2018.
Flex fuel sensor malfunction, causing check engine light to go on and inability to remote start car. Verified with local third-party shop that nothing else would be causing this. Did not take into local dealership as have had previous issues with incorrectly fixing a voluntary recall so we utilized the third party shop instead. Located a gm special coverage bulletin (#14289) from 2014 that included our make/model regarding this specific issue, but the VIN is not included in the recall. But Chevrolet can not tell me why the vehicle is not included and cannot look up the specific coverage I was talking about. This has happened several times over the course of about a year, mainly in the wintertime.
Bad injectors.
2014 model year Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC sierra 1500 vehicles, equipped with e85 flex fuel capability (fhs), the flexible fuel sensor may become inoperative during normal operation due to an electrical failure caused by road salt and other environmental contaminants. With a faulty flex fuel sensor, the service engine soon light will illuminate and remote start will be inoperative.
Tl-contact owns a 2014 chevy silverado ---- had not received recall notice --- transmission coolant line leaking ---- contact paid 500. 00 to have coolant lines replaced --- truck has 37000 miles on it . . . 0 recalls associated with this VIN. . . Cb.
"takata recall" driving on n loop 820. Vehicle driving ahead of me began to swerve, and I avoided the car. Roads were moderately wet--I was travelling around 40 mph due to possible ice on overpass. I was in extreme left lane, began to slide and turned into the direction I skidded and made contact with center median of highway. Next exit was campus drive. The airbag did not deploy and the sensor was illuminated. I called 911 and police vehicle arrived an hour later. The truck was in the most extreme left hand lane blocking drivers behind me. The sensor remained on, but the airbag did not deploy. Was towed to bruce lowrie Chevrolet.
Per dealership the upper ac hose that hooks to the condenser will crack due to needing a bracket that was not installed at all. The cost for me to repair is 1200 to 1500 bit why when there is a known issue will Chevrolet not fix it. Please respond the a. C. Worked fine one day and then absolutely nothing the next day. Does not cool at all. Can't afford to fix a Chevrolet error and prefer not to take it further. I would just like my a. C. To be fixed! please.
The truck has a raw fuel smell under hood and drawn in the cabin when the engine is running both while stationary and moving. Attached is len lyall Chevrolet's diagnosis of leaking high pressure fuel lines under the intake manifold. This vehicle has been driven 40,866 miles. I was told this is not covered by powertrain warranty but by the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty. There is one (TSB #15-na-002) and two recall/ campaigns (#14858 and #13331) for this known failure. This is a safety, health and emissions concern due to possible fire, high/ failing evaporative emissions, and respiratory health problems. I feel this vehicle system failure should be covered by warranty or emissions warranty.
Purchased new from dealer, I have already had it in for corrosion at three months, 8+ recalls. Now it won't shift correctly when slowing down (stoplight) and then taking off again. It idles rough all the time and even dies at take-offs unless I can finagle the gas pedal just right. I took it in to a great dealership, they acknowledge it idles rough, however, they said gm said that is normal. The corrosion started at month 3, and progressively getting worse. I took it back in for the corrsion and gm told the dealship I am on my own to pay for the (same location) corrsion repair, as the warranty was up (36,500 miles).
I was traveling up an incline when vehicle started jumping. Engine light came on, as well as stability or skid control and when turning on turn signal the wipers came on. Did not feel safe but drove to nearest dealership with vehicle jumping and missing out, about 4 blocks. Diagnoses was faulty fuel injector at 4577 miles on vehicle. After picking up vehicle when repair was done it missed out again but no engine light. Dealership could not duplicate the problem. Hope this isn't going to be ongoing issue.
