Have had the vehicle at piles chevy and dan cummins chevy multiple times along with tire discounters everyone says vehicle is in spec and the shaking at 70 to 75 mph is normal however I've owned multiple vehicles non of them has ever had this issue I can't get the dealer to fix it they only say it's a known issue truck only has 57000 miles on it.
Ok so I took my truck in for the brake recall which nothing was wrong with it but now when engaging brakes vehicle won't stop brake peddle goes to the floor then brake light stabilizer light there's one more light that comes on can't seem to remember so I have no idea what they did to my truck but I would really appreciate it if chevy could fix it at no charge being that nothing was wrong in the first place and now after they touched my truck my brakes is fucked up peddle shakes like crazy when slowing down.
The truck shakes uncomfortably at varying intensities between 70-80 mph.
Front driver seat is not tight. Heated seat not worming light on but no heat.
Air bag error lights error.
Suspension makes noises when turning or going over bump. Driver seat feels like it moves/shifts slightly when making a turn. No brake pedal or rock hard brake pedal at low speeds, in traffic, or when in reverse.
When driving (sitting in drivers seat), when you go around a corner you can feel the seat moving. It seems tight when you get out and try moving it but when driving and turning corners you can feel the seat move sliding side to side. Talked with dealership on problem, they claim it needs a shim kit. But they want to charge to diagnose what I deem to be a safety problem. At some point the seat may come completely free.
Heated seats working to mfg specs per dealer but no heat can be felt. Dealership says they hear this complaint from many and that it is a poor design on the part of the mfg. I looked on social media & message boards to find this issue is a common complaint. Chevy says there is no issue because seats are working to specs, won't give any info for who else to contact at chevy to address this widespread common complaint. Chevy rep says they will need to be compelled by federal gov to issue any recall and will not voluntarily address it even if it is determined to be a poor design. Consumers paid for heated seats that due to a poor design, do not get hot, and Chevrolet is refusing to address the issue. Based upon social media & message boards online, the complaint seems to be specific to the heated & air conditioned leather bucket seats in the 2014 & 2015 silverado and likely GMC sierra as well. Chevy apparently knows about the issue and possibly redesigned the seats for the 16 and newer models as there are few complaints that I could find for those model years. It seems to be limited to 2 model years and one type of seat. Please investigate this and contact the appropriate contacts at Chevrolet to compel them to address this issue and give their customers the feature they paid for, heated seats that actually get warm. Mine stay cool to the touch on my 30 mile, 45 minute drive to work despite being told that they are working to mfg spec. I have heated seats in both my camaro & impala that heat up nicely in just a few seconds and that is what I expect in my newer, twice as expensive, silverado high country. Please compel them to issue a recall or monetary settlement to reimburse for a feature that does not perform the task advertised.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the the front driver and passenger side seats would move and rock when making a turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer(ray skillman Chevrolet(3891 south post rd, indianapolis, id) who replaced a part(unknown) and the failure was remedied. Approximately 1 year later the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 50,000. Jft.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the driver seat track was fractured and bent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat track was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The representative acknowledged that it was a safety issue and stated that Chevrolet would not issue a recall until forced by NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Waited 12 years to afford a new truck and were stuck with this lemon. 14 active recalls paid over $1k for repair work not covered by warranty had the vehicle one year (2015) had to have the seats repaired. Air bag issues and the dealer said it wasn't covered either. As of today I have spent almost $3k on this truck for something that you wouldn't think a new truck would have to repair. The rear end went out at christmas (2016) really. Come on chevy you've gotta do better than this. Offer is something for our troubles. Will not buy or recommend a chevy product.
I was involved in a hit and run accident (I was stationary at the time at a dry, mutli-turn lane light) Nov 15, 2016. After collision repairs to the visible damage to the vehicle, I found that the driver's side seat would not recline. Dealership worked on it and claimed to have fixed it. After the first attempt, it reclined but would not lock into place on the right side. Returned to dealership and required metal seat back frame replacement to fix the failure. Dealership couldn't or wouldn't identify this as a problem that resulted from the accident. Insurance would not cover the damage as the direct hit to the truck was on the right side, opposite the driver's side seat. The vehicle is only 2 years old and as I have never had a seat failure of this type and have owned other new chevy trucks similar to this one I am concerned that this is could be a faulty production run of the seat back frame. The passenger side seat did not experience problems after the accident. I'm now concerned that there may be other hidden critical failure items that may have been the result of the accident or could possibly be an installed factory failure. I don't have photos but I do have the old seat back frame in my possession if needed.
1. Driver's seat reclining mechanism jammed and stopped working. Had to have seat back frame assembly replaced just after warranty. 2. Six speed transmission generally works good most of the time. On occasions (about 50 so far) when backing out of a space and shifting gear from reverse to drive, the transmission does not shift, there is a 2-3 second delay before it shifts and jumps into gear with a clunk. This causes problems when you are backing out into traffic in parking lot, onto a street, or making a 3-point turn and the transmission does not shift when you anticipate it should and you are stuck there for the delay. This could cause a crash. Took to dealer under warranty, they could not reproduce problem. Date at bottom is a guess. Have to check dealer records at home.
Driver seat is not anchored securely. It moves at times such as when turning. Some models of this same year truck is on the recall list for this same problem, but I was told mine is not included. It looks like maybe more of the 2014's needs to be recalled, I know this one does.
Drivers seat shifts from side to side when maiking a left or right turn the seat will shift.
Tl - the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver seat started to shift and come out of alignment independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who inspected the vehicle and replaced the seat cushion. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and contacted the dealer. The technician stated that the shim kit needed to be installed in order to remedy the failure. Shortly after having the repairs performed, the seat experienced the failure again but the manufacturer and dealer refused to provide any additional assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 12,000. Pm.
The seat of my truck is loose. There is a service advisory the dealers have in their system which is #pit5223: front driver or passenger seat cover / cushion loose. . . . . . Dealer has attempted to fix it 3 times following guidlines from gm but it is still a problem. A friend of mine purchased a 2015 GMC sierra (which is the same truck) and he is having the problem with 2000 miles on it. . . . . He to just picked his truck up from the dealer and on the way home the seat was doing the same thing. . Read more...
Incomplete weld on seat hook bracket assembly. Recall#14340 ref. #14v446000.
Purchased my 2014 chevy silverado at the end of June 2014 and by July 2014 while traveling to work my truck experience a severe vibration that shooked my entire interior and especially my center console. Took my truck to two local dealerships and they say my truck drives and handles normally. After reading other complaints by other owners, I decided to write my own complaint. Chevy corporation needs to investigate this matter before any tragic incident happe ns like the ignition switch recall that innocent people died and now they are paying mega bucks. Also requesting other owners to file a complaint so other truck buyers will stay away from Chevrolet automobiles entirely. My next purchase will probably a foreign because I am having to many problems and nothing is getting done. Thanks alot chevy, from soon to be ex-Chevrolet owner.
Purchased a new 2014 chevy silverado in June and after drving a few hundred miles, I noticed the drivers seat was not very comfortable on long trips. Soon after a noise was coming from under seat. Dealer replaced seat track but was not installed properly and my seat cushion came unattached. Dealer attempted to fix the problem but noise is still apparent. I have read other complaints about seats being uncomfortable and I can confirm. Why is Chevrolet putting out this type of vehicles and expect people to buy. If you are reading this do not buy a Chevrolet/GMC truck. Save your money!!!!!.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the drivers seat was not stationary and was moving around versus secured while the contact was operating the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to two different authorized dealers who stated that the shimes, clips and hooks were not available to repair the vehicle. Both authorized dealers were not able to indicate when the parts would become available. The manufacturer was contacted and was not able to confirm when the contact would be able to receive the parts to get the seat secured. The failure continued and was not remedied. The seat was moving around and was not secure while the contact was driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000. Dyd.
I was cleaning the inside out and noticed a hole in the passinger side seat in the bottom aera and the leather was thin where it was torn and I went to my dealer and they said it would take most of the day to take it off to see if it was torn or a puncture so I just wanted to add my truck to this list for defects.
While driving in 4wd 'auto', off pavement in waterfront area, I did not think 4wd was engaging. When I shifted to 4h, the seat immediately clam shelled in and down on me. I reset seat, and noticed mirrors also had moved. A few minutes latter I tried the same maneuver while moving <5 mph, with the same results. I drove the 20+ miles back home in 4auto, but ready for a surprise shift into 4wd, with the accompanying, dangerous seat position change. It occurred 1 more time, while driving slowly approaching my driveway. I tried to duplicated it a few more times during a 2 week period; no occurrences. The sales people told me to use 4auto as my regualr mode. I decided to try 2h. Now when I go from 2h to 4auto, the seat moves backward in short jolts. Going to 4h or 4l, as directed in the manual, a clam shell effect occurs. I have done it with others in my truck, so they can witness the seat try to devour me. The last time it happened, I left it in the driveway with the seat & mirrors in their final position, so others could get in and see if they thought they could drive in that position. I have not set the set memory, and was very careful to not touch anything but the 4wd control while changing drive modes. As an aside, I noticed others owners had complaints about the seats. My 'safety alert' seat, 'heated and cooled (perforated)', 'front full feature', 'leather appointed buckets' developed a small tear in the lower, middle portion of the seat. I wanted it replaced, and of course, the friendly dealership staff tried to say this was 'normal wear and tear'. This was at less than 500 miles, 350 of which the dealership put on while driving it from another dealer. This truck is used for pleasure only, not work, no tool pouches or in pockets. . . If it wasn't such a bad example of how customers are treated by some dealerships, it would be laughable. Current millage: 1,711 mi.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated the driver seat was extremely uncomfortable and the padding was very thin. As result of the problem, the contact had to constantly make adjustments while traveling. The vehicle was neither repaired nor diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the safety concern and provided no remedy. The approximate failure mileage was 6.
