Note-we are visiting DE, but reside in virginia. I recently experienced problems with my "wheel speed sensor system" on my 2014 chevy silverado, lt, 5. 3l v8 4wd, crew cab. My local garage in DE (our condo is in DE- our home-residence is virginia) looked at the vehicle and said I was having a problem with the wheel speed sensors partially locking up my brakes and causing a drag when driving. The garage in newark, DE- littles garage told me that their system said there was a recall on my vehicle and that I'd need to have service done at a Chevrolet dealership at no cost. I went to 2 dealerships who stated my truck's VIN did not show up in their system as having any active recalls. Reading the recall notice, I see that gm contacted the dealerships directly (I guess not to make the recall public) who have/had sold this vehicle with instructions to contact owners directly; however, I purchased the vehicle in SC from a Ford dealership in 2017. Since recall # n192261050 is stated as a safety problem that could cause my truck to be a dangerous safety hazard that could cause serious damage and even death to occupants of the vehicle. I understand from my garage that the issue is intermittent once discovered, even as I have not experienced anything for about a week, and it can re-appear at any time. You can understand that I need the NHTSA to help me resolve this issue and if I am deserving of a recall fix, to help me with dealerships in DE. Nucar Chevrolet of new castle, DE has been recommended to me by littles garage as one of the best chevy dealerships. Note I am visiting DE and need to get back to virginia shortly (I'm hesitant to drive this vehicle at highway speeds). I appreciate any help to resolve these issues and to possibly help me to have a dealership in DE provide me the applicable safety fix in accordance with the subject recall.
Transmission slipping.
Vehicle has intermitten reduced engine display while traveling down the high way. Causes the vehicle to downshift and significantly increase engine rpm. I’m fearing if this continues to happen it will blow up my engine. The ecu shows code p2138. After some research I’ve learned gm is aware of this fsult in their vehicles and I believe they should be the one paying for their mistake. Not me.
Stabilitrak light and engine light comes on causing vehicle to lose power, steering wheel locks up, lights flicking on and off, and time engines shut off. . . This is an hazard while driving vehicle on highway road and regular streets especially.
This problem was a recall and was repaired before at no cost. Now it is happening again. I took a 100 mile round trip day trip. . . On the way back I got a steering warning that flashed 2 times on my dashboard while going 75 mph on the highway. Then when turning into my subdivision the truck stalled and I lost all power steering. This happened one other time in a home depot parking lot. I feel the truck is unsafe to drive. And I haul a 36 foot travel trailer occasionally. Obviously this is the second time the same thing has happened. . . The first time it was a free recall repair. . . Please advise on how to proceed. I plan to trade the truck in ASAP due to the fact that my husband and I are up in age and no longer able to travel.
Vehicle steering is interrupted while in motion and turning. ( ~10 mph city streets) vehicle shuts off at low speed or after idleing and vehicle is placed into drive from park. (city streets 0-7mph) while at highway speeds speed/cruse control disengages (shuts off) when right turn signal is activated. (multiple hwy speed ranges 50-75 mph) note-date below is the latest of these repeated issues. The three events described have repeated occasionally recurred since ownership. Now steering interruption and vehicle losing power after idleing more frequent. Speed/cruse control disengagement when signal light is activated is also recurring.
Bad injectors.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet silverado. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the accelerator pedal seized to function and started to accelerate. The contact stated he was able to change to neural to stable the acceleration to get to his employment. The vehicle was towed to local dealer feldman Chevrolet of lansing located at 2801 e michigan Ave, lansing, mi 48912, (517) 507-4948, where it was diagnosed with no failure found. The contact stated he continues to experience failure on the vehicle. The manufacturer has been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 64,000. Dp.
My silverado frequently "shuts off" when I am making turns. This is extremely dangerous - the latest time I was pulling out into traffic and the engine and all electrical parts turn off. I was nearly hit by another vehicle. There was a recall for this exact issue and my local Chevrolet dealer said they have "fixed it". I keep bringing the truck back to them, but they won't attempt to fix it again citing lemon laws because they can't get the truck to replicate the issue. I am beyond frustrated and at this point concerned about the safety of my children and myself as I drive.
Loss of steering and power dealership has performed recall 17276 reprograming power steering control module twice and this has not fixed problem.
Vehicle is presently at the dealership for the fifth time. While driving with cruise, when changing lanes after turn signal is used the cruise shuts down. On several occasions while in the middle of a turn the dash lights flash, locks flip up n down, steering wheel jerks back n forth then vehicle dies. The incident that is reason for being in the shop now is, while in a parking lot, steering locked n unlocked, door locks again flipped up n down, vehicle died with no power. Could not unlock the vehicle, no power what so ever, key would no turn. Eventually I heard a psst noise and the power came back. The previous times taken to the dealer, I'm always told, cannot duplicate. This is a danger to me,my family. After being a faithful gm fan for over 40+ years they have lost this guy to another make of vehicle, especially after reading so many of the same complaints, as I, without resolve. They have lost my trust.
While driving, slowed the vehicle down to start a decent in the road, once vehicle reached level ground, I pushed the accelerator pedal, and vehicle would only rev up, would not got forward, while in drive. This continued until the vehicle was close to 5 mph, then vehicle started moving as the accelerator pedal was pushed. This has happened on several times, and the dealer states that they cannot duplicate the occurrence. Tried to record the occurrence, but with the constant turning of the steering wheel, makes it hard to record for proof.
The vehicle ignition turned off while driving (vehicle in motion) causing the power steering to fail. This has happened three times in the past 3 weeks. Gm does not list this model as part of its recall and when I contacted gm they recommended taking it to a dealer and having it repaired at my expense.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet sliverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle shakes and rattles until the vehicle shifts into six cylinder mode. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front right drivers side tire was not balanced and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure occurred shortly after. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure 2,000. Pp.
I purchased the vehicle, brand new in may of 2014. The first malfunction of the vehicle was June 19 2014. The steering wheel, ignition, and cylinder remained locked and I was restrained from starting vehicle I contacted Chevrolet roadside assistance in which they were no assistance. I was able to start car after aprox 30min. The second malfunction was in March 2015. My truck turned off while driving on the freeway in the fast lane causing loss of power steering, speed and all functions of the vehicle. Onstar and highway patrol were contacted and highway patrol assisted in pushing vehicle to the shoulder. The third incident was July 30. Immediately after taking my truck into paradise Chevrolet for an oil change. A gas attendee noticed I was leaking oil. The oil cap had not been tightened causing oil leakage. The most recent event was August 11,2015. My vehicle turned off once again while being driven on the highway with my husband and five month old daughter in it, causing loss of power steering, speed and all functions of the truck. The vehicle did restart aprox. 20min after. However, when restarted the truck made a noticeably shakey motion. Both events in which the vehicle turned off while driving were followed shortly after paradise Chevrolet of ventura CA "upgraded software", without my knowledge. Both times I went in for an oil change and I was informed after the fact that they had upgraded software/ preformed a "recall".
