My driver’s seat started moving slightly then by the end of the day it was rocking back and forth at least 2 inches. The dealer said it’s not under warranty and it would be $1,200 to repair it. I had it welded but the weld didn’t hold. I am afraid this is a big safety hazard and should be covered especially since the truck is only 5 years old. I only weigh 200 lbs and I am the only one who’s ever driven the truck. There is no reason the seat should be broken.
Have been experiencing a disconcerting side to side driver seat movement when navigating corners. Had truck looked at as there have been numerous online posted issues with this issue. Upon inspection, was told the seat frame was broken at a weld point and seat would need to be replaced. Also told they have replaced "many" broken seat frames for the year and model of my silverado. Note, this truck has only 16,000 miles on it and is maintained like new.
The seat shifts during a right and/or left turn. I was told at the dealership, this was a problem, however there has not been a recall. I jerk with the seat during the turns. I am afraid that if I have an accident or the truck rolls over in an accident the seat will not be secure and may crush me or the driver.
I was driving and the brake strength went extremely low. I took it to the auto shop and they said the brake vacuum pump went had. Also, the driver side seat has a rock to it when your weight is shifted sometimes.
The drivers seat makes a lateral movement and/or clicking noise. The seat is not stable and can cause a loss of control of the vehicle because of the seat movement when driving. Gm is completely aware of the problem. The problem exists on 2014, 2015, 2016 silverado's and on other gm vehicles. Gm will repair the problem if the owner notices it during the 36 month/36000 miles but is refusing to repair it after that. Gm has supposedly corrected the problem in 2017 and newer vehicles. Service bulletin #18-na-377 dated Dec 17, 2018 document id # 5185379 applies. This movement and noise occurs while driving especially while turning and is completely distracting. This defect in the front seat mechanism allows for safety concerns that the seat can become dislodged especially during an accident. Gm has refused to repair and correct this defect that they have known about for years.
It seems that my vehicle is leaking somewhere around either the sunroof or the xm antenna. I already had the leak around the third brake light which not only filled the lens up with water and kept blowing bulbs for my third brake light fixed. But from the research I've done it seems that a lot of different year and models of the silverado have been doing so. But some how when it rains or I wash my truck or go thru a car wash I get water dripping from my headliner onto my heated seats, down behind my dash and water puddling up into my floorboard, on the drivers side. When the third brake light was leaking my whole rear floorboard would be completely soaked. The condensation on my windows would make it hard to drive and be able to see thru the windshield, the water dripping on me while driving was a distraction also and if I turned on my heated seats I sometimes would feel electrical shocks in my butt, and the fact that I have mold growing on top of my headliner and in my carpet makes my truck smell and I'm sure breathing the mold in isn't health for me or my 10 year old son. I took the truck to the local chevy place and they won't fix it due to it having over 36,000 miles yet I have the extended warranty which doesn't cover this, my insurance company doesn't cover it either.
