Dive line vibration, not from out of balance wheels. It occurs around 70 mph and lives in and out. The shake/vibration is always present but gets fluctuates at a continuous speed. It can be seen that the rear end is shaking left to right from the drivers mirror.

4 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

My truck shakes from the moment we pull off from a stop and shakes until we get up to 70mph. We had an alignment and that did not fix anything. Gm is fully aware of the issue and has done nothing except put out a service bulletin for diagnostics that costs an arm and a leg! we cannot drive this vehicle because we are afraid we will lose control. This happens on paved and dirt roads and inside city limit streets (30 mph) and interstate roads (60mph+). We are also afraid to drive the truck fearing that it would get worse and the driveshaft might drop. $60k truck sitting in our driveway wasting away.

5 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2019

When truck is traveling at highway speeds (60 and above) the truck shakes violently and anything in the cup holders shakes violently. It is a very common issue from what I can tell and Chevrolet has done nothing to attempt to fix the issue. Something should be done.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2018

Purchased brand new chevy Silverado 1500 in 2016, noticed significant shaking of vehicle 11 months into owning. This vehicle is solely used for a daily to and from office job commute, consuming approximately 45 miles a day, mostly highway. The vehicle upon reaching 70 mph shakes terribly, enough to shake my coffe out of the cup. At the same time I also began to notice the quick wearing and feathering/warping of my tires on the inside tread area. Took the vehicle to the dealership and was told I needed new tires, mind you at under 19,000 miles and the shaking "should" stop. Had the tires replaced along with an alignment and the issue still remains. The dealership has been consistent with giving me the run around. Spoke with several silverado owners whom have the issues, some earlier in ownership while others sometime later. Apparently this issue has been given a name "chevy shakes". Searched on line for this issue and surprisingly the problem is well documented/discussed. I'm getting the perception that this is a huge problem and chevy is doing their best to cover it up. Filing this complaint to go along with the others. Hopefully this problem is addressed with a preventive mindset rather than waiting for someone to get seriously injured or killed. It's time for a recall!.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/30/2017

I have a 2016 Chevrolet silverado. Once you get to 70-80 miles per hour it shakes pretty bad. I noticed others have experienced same things. They even named it the "chevy shake". I just wanted to file a complaint so it could be added to the list of others.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 70 mph or higher, the vehicle shook. The higher the speed, the more it vibrated. The vehicle was taken to boch Chevrolet (381 providence hwy, norwood, MA 02062, (781) 332-4226) several times. 13 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2016

Issue since new: only 100 miles. Leaf springs on 2016 chevy Silverado 1500 lt 4x4 truck is defective. Have taken it in for service on multiple occasions. All they will do is place grease packs on leaf springs, quieting (masking) the real issue. This temporary "fix" last only approx. 7 days and the loud banging and bouncing of bed is back. The vibration that is causes in cab along with the bouncing gives passengers headaches and is also responsible for terrible wear of tires. Trucks tires from factory are also bad and unsafe. In for service and did nothing. Was stated that they were 100,000 miles tires. . . . All tires cupped and worn to 40% and truck only had 24,000 miles. Called dealer to have issue addressed multiple times - they blamed the owners. We drive back and forth to work (mainly highway), keep it clean. . . Maintain it to perfection and no off road driving of any sort. No way this is an owner-induced issue. Leaf springs need to be recalled. . . . Along with the goodyear tires provided by factory. Have filed a claim with general motors after several attempts to have issues fixed through dealership. They say gm will not pay them so they cannot provide any other remedies. No tire fix, and only temporary one week 'masking fix' for the leaf spring issue.

14 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2016

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle shook forcefully. There were no warning indicators illuminated and the vibration caused the head lamps to vibrate. The contact stated that the voltage speed only read through 10. 5-11. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,790.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2016

Steady driving between 35 and 65 mph, the truck shudders and the rpm tach needle jumps. It does not do it while shifting but when running at a steady speed. My 4th time at the dealership and they are only focused on the vibration of the truck and are now replacing the third tire. I agree the vibration is bad but the shuddering is ridiculous. There is a technical bulletin for the silverado with the 6. 2 transmission with the exact same issues. I called the service tech who has my truck and he said "your truck doesn't have that transmission. " I said "I realize that rich. . . However it is the same issue. " he said as soon as they get the new tire in they are going to test drive it some more. Did I mention they have had it five days this time and they still don't have a tire. Also. . . According to the technical bulletin #pip5337d, the shudder is torque converter.

16 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2016

Truck has vibration at 70 mph and upwards from rear of vehicle when on interstate - feels like a driveline vibration. Can be felt in the seat and not through steering wheel. Vibration at times is severe and other times minor or non-existent. Dealer keeps blaming tire/wheel balance but they are in spec (verified by third party tire dealer). Concern that vibration will cause control issues or something to break while traveling at higher speeds. This vibration has been present in the vehicle since new.

17 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2016

I purchased my truck in August 2016. I noticed a vibration from 70-80 mph. Very noticeable in the steering wheel and more recently in the driver seat. It's been to the dealer twice. They picoscoped (service tool) to isolate the vibration. Performed lots of balancing, new tires, drive shaft, differential (ring & pinion). Vibration more noticeable than ever. But they claim it's within spec. They have a field service engineer meeting my car at the dealer on Wednesday 11/09/2016, but the dealer is already setting me up for disappointment. This prompted me to search on line today where I found "chevy shakes". The stories match my experience completely. I love everything about my truck until I hit 75, then I become so infuriated that my $50k truck with 2,700 miles apparently isn't going to be fixable from what I've read. I wouldn't know what to tell a potential buyer if for some reason I had to sell it. It clearly has a problem. If I'm told it can't be fixed, I will demand my money back. I'm at 75 every day, and the vibration isn't only annoying, but it numbs your hands from the shaking.

18 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2016

Steering is bad and it shack alot the bkakes are not that good I slip on the car in front of me.

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

My truck shakes on the highway at 68-75 mph, the truck is one month old and has 800 miles on it. The vehicle has been back to the dealer every week for the month that I have owned it tires & wheels have been changed several times. The truck has been road force balanced the same & also by an independent tire shop at my own cost, as of this date my vehicle still shakes, gm has admitted the problem but they say it is not a safety issue at this time, so no recall is warranted, the dealer has been working with me & they are willing to buy my vehicle back at full value or trade, this vehicle was very expensive & gm knows there is a problem, but keeps selling them any way to unsuspecting consumers like myself in my opinion this is just greed & lack of caring for loyal customers that keep gm in business. "remember the bailout".

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2016

Sudden loss of steering including front end shake and braking problem. Vehicle only has 6000 miles and both country club motors and Chevrolet corp. Have denied and fault of there's. I am a auto tech of 26 years and ase certified in steering and suspension believe that defective front suspension parts are very much to blame but I am getting the run around from all ends. I believe this issue is a cover up and really needs attention.
