When variable timing of vehicle shuts down two cylinders, switching truck from v6 to v4 with rpm's at or below 1,500k, the truck begins to miss/shutter. This occurs and on road type, any weather condition. At times the vibrations of this miss/shutter can be a bit violent. If further accerate to force the truck back into v6 mode, the issue resolves itself but as soon as the truck switches back to v4 mode, the problems begins again immediately. I have had the truck at dealer service department 5 times with no resolution to the problem. Instead, the technicians continue to perform unrelated work items that do not alleviate the real issue. Upon my last service for the issue I was informed that "gm doesn't currently have a solution for the problem" and that all of the service work that the technicians continue to perform is "nothing more than a way to try to mask the symptoms so that you don't notice it. " upon researching, I have discovered that this exact same issue has arisen in multiple gm trucks. The long term affects, which are unknown at this time, are a concerning.
