3 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

Have had two different door actuator/locking mechanisms fail on both rear doors. This is an easy part to replace and is able to be replaced by the consumer. Both times it was replaced the actuator failed immediately in the locked position. Door could not be opened from the inside or the outside and had to have door panel cut off to reopen. After the second failure, the gm dealer tech showed me a "trick" that was only known to gm techs and that if the consumer did not replace the latch with the undocumented "trick" and only used the standard repair manual the latch would fail as such. I approached gm for an answer on this and they stated that I am not a licensed gm technician and should not attempt to do anything on my vehicle other than put gas in it and drive it. While I do understand that at times it is necessary for a trained professional to be involved, but that should not be the case for a door latch. The lack of concern on gms part as the door had to be cut off because of this is irresponsible. There are plenty of other stories of the same issue occurring with this same style of latch. Someone could easily be trapped in the vehicle with this issue and killed.

4 Body problem

Failure Date: 03/29/2022

Door actuator failure left rear door, symptoms are the door doesnt lock and unlock from the switch or keyless, when this problem presents it self the door fails to open from the inside. Like child safety is on/when it is not engaged, this could be a safety risk to someone trying to exit the vehicle quickly and not know that they have a problem. After inspection I found there was a broken pin in the oem connector, yes I have it available for inspection. No problem wasn't reproduced or confirmed at a dealer. No inspection from manufacture, police, ins etc. . . There weren't any warnings, door lock just worked intermittently.

5 Body problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2021

Undercar body excessively rusting and corroding.

6 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2021

Transmission locked up and failed. Acted like it bound up. This happened during a normal shift sequence, acted tight then engine just kept over revving. Happened about 3-4 months ago. Dealer fixed for free. Said it was common. This happened right at 60k miles. Said if it happens again they will not warranty it as there is no fix for this problem. Suggested I buy another new truck. Next problem is my right front caliper has failed twice and needed complete replacement. It is now failing for the third time. This is seriously unsafe and crazy. I have only about 73k miles on this truck. Third thing is my chrome trim on my door handles has repeatedly failed. I was told by my dealer this is normal and it is not fixable unless I pay them. It is not normal wear and tear. The truck is babied and kept in perfect condition.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2019

My son was backing out of a tight parking space at our hotel. He checked his rear camera and saw there were concrete poles close behind him so he braked, but the truck jumped backward and hit the pole denting his bumper.
