The contact stated that while pulling out of the driveway at approximately 5 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard before stopping the vehicle. The check engine and service braking system warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the engine power reduced and power steering assist failure messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the power steering was temporary and returned to normal operation. The vehicle was taken to joe basil Chevrolet (5111 transit rd, depew, NY 14043, (716)683-6800) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the braking system needed to be reprogrammed. The contact was informed that the brake failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 20v116000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The recall repair was performed. The mechanic was unable to identify the cause of the power steering failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,451.
