On Monday, 6/15/26, with approx 45,400 miles, I was driving down the road and truck said service transmission. The gears would shift, but it lagged a little bit. I scheduled an appt for two days later, and only drove it when I absolutely had to, which was only twice before my scheduled appt. I get in it to drive and it says service transmission- unable to shift soon, then on my way to the dealership, it says all of that, plus service driver assist system. Chavy's quality assurance team needs to get it together! this is absolutely ridiculous.
My truck has the l87 motor on recall. I purchased it brand new and paid top dollar for it. I've had issues since I've bought it. All of my maintenance has always been done at the dealership from regular maintenance to purchasing brand new tires. I am very disappointed to have a truck that concerns to drive, I do not take my family out in my truck because I am not confident in its reliability and safety. Multiple times I've taken my truck in for service and let them know to complete an oil change, tire rotation and to check an issue with a "tick, clunk and knock" just to be told it was "normal for the 6. 2". My normal dealership has blocked off appointments online and you'd have to call to try to set one up. I demanded a diagnostic one time when the truck was acting weird and the tech stated "stop by, I'll squeeze you in" in which I did. However, I wasn't given any documentation since "I didn't have an appointment". After reviewing all of my service records, I come to notice not once time did they mention they did a diagnostic check. Only the recall test shows on one of the service records. I've had 3 different viscosity oils in my motor from the dealer stating gm recommended it. I had to night drop my truck on June 14 as it was making a weird noise from the engine and it felt like it had less power. I waited 2 days and the dealer did not contact to even state they have my truck in service. When I called to ask the status I had to agree to text message communication in which they replied, "at best it will take 2 weeks just to look at it". I asked for a loaner since I need a truck for work and transportation, they replied they do not have any and I will be placed on a list. My truck is still under original powertrain warranty and they cannot even provide a loaner. I feel that they are brushing me off to buy time and here I am making hefty car and insurance payments for a truck I do not have nor a truck that I need to provide for my family. Gm does not care!.
6/12/26 ( 2023 chevy silverado - 6. 2 liter engine) while driving at approximately 40 mph on a two lane road, the truck shut off. After multiple attempts, the engine failed to restart. The transmission locked up in park and would not release. This required the truck to be dragged up on the flat bed wrecker instead of rolling freely. Prior to this instance there have been several issues with the electrical system. 1. Radio sound shuts off. Does not come back on. 2. Head lights stay on for 10 minutes after vehicle is turn off. 3. Tail gate opens on it own. Tail gate doesn't open with fob. 4. Door locks fail to operate correctly. 5. When drivers door is opened a beeping sound starts and doesn't stop until door is closed. I have reported these problems to gm & have two case numbers. The dealership reports that the 6. 2 replacement engines have had multiple failures.
Engine failed and no light or warning besides check oil was shown on truck. The electrical system also went out (a year before engine failure) so car wouldn’t start.
I was travelling on the highway at approximately 72 miles an hour in the left lane trying to pass a vehicle in the right lane. While accelerating my truck was like the brakes were slammed on and all kinds of lights starting flashing. This included the check engine light, low oil pressure light and lane assist lights. The truck shifted into neutral and I could not place back into drive. I swerved and almost lost control of the vehicle and nearly missed colliding with the safety rails on the left of the road and then with the car on the right side. I then pulled onto the shoulder after nearly being rear ended by another vehicle approaching on the left. The vehicle would not react to the gas pedal. I pulled onto the shoulder and turned the vehicle off. Tried to restart but again nothing but mutliple lights and warnings. I checked my app for Chevrolet and it stated that the vehicle needed engine and transmission system service. Variable valve timing system needs serviced. Ingition system needed serviced. The onstar diagnostic alert indicated p0016 was detected. I opened the hood to inspect and the coolant overflow was spewing coolant. I checked the oil level at that point and it was just a little below full. I had taken this vehicle into the dealership two other times stating that the vehicle had stalled before on the highway but not to this degree. The other two times it stalled when accelerating it would allow me to pull over and restart. But both of those times I never had any flashing lights or diagnostic codes. I explained this to the dealership and how unsafe it was. Both of those times almost ended in a vehicle accident with other vehicles around me. The dealership said they could not diagnose any issues unless the truck created a diagnostic code. These issues have been ongoing with these vehicles for a long time and the dealership just did not want to deal with them. I had the vehicle go thru the recall diagnostic tests. It did not fix them.
While driving, the vehicle suddenly displayed “service esc” and “service traction control” warnings. Shortly after, the engine stalled and the vehicle became difficult to restart. Vehicle experienced rough running/misfires and loss of power. Diagnostic trouble codes retrieved included p0300, p0106, p3498, p00ff, and u1962. The issue appears intermittent but creates a serious safety concern due to unexpected stalling while driving. Concerned about possible electrical, engine management, or stability control system failure affecting safe operation of the vehicle. No prior warning before incident.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? engine seized and vehicle was towed to dealership. It is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? loss of propulstion, described below. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, dealership where originally purchased. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? inspected at dealership by gm/Chevrolet technician. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? none prior to failure detailed description: on 5/21/2026, during normal driving, the engine in my truck lost propulsion due to a major internal failure. This is a 2023 general motors 6. 2l (l87) engine that was inspected at the dealership where it was originally purchased for the previously issued NHTSA "loss of propulsion" recall and passed without any noted issues. This engine only has ~20,000 miles on it. The engine failed in relatively heavy traffic and could have easily resulted in a serious accident due to inability to route my vehicle to a safe area while under power. This all happened without any prior warning, no check engine lights, noises or lamps or symptoms. The dash simply illuminated with a "press start" message. The truck was towed to the dealer for evaluation. The dealer called me today (5/26/2026) stating the engine was seized and a new engine would have to be ordered from gm for installation. This event occurred while the vehicle (2023 silverado zr2) is still under the original 36 month/36,000 mile warranty.
While traveling on the interstate towing a fifth-wheel camper going 55 mph, a message appeared on the dash instructing me to press the start button. I pressed the start button, but the vehicle would not start. When I pressed the start button the entire instrument cluster and navigation display went out. We were able to safely coast to the breakdown lane, skidding to a stop. We remained in the breakdown lane on a busy highway on a holiday weekend in 90+ degree heat for 7+ hours before being towed to a nearby dealership. When the right type of tow truck arrived (capable of towing the truck and camper off the highway), the driver had to remove the driveshaft before the vehicle could be towed to the nearby dealership. This is because of the electronic shift. If the vehicle is not running it cannot be shifted out of park without a special tool. We felt very unsafe sitting in the breakdown lane with cars whizzing by shaking our camper and vehicle at each vehicle passing. Not 1 time did the police stop to provide assistance/make sure all were ok, etc. The vehicle has since been towed to the local dealership and after they inspected the vehicle it was determined the engine seized due to debris in the engine. A replacement engine is on backorder. The engine had already been inspected for the recall and gm 6. 2l l87 "fix" was performed, but this did not stop the engine from seizing.
At approximately 24,000 miles the engine had catastrophic failure under normal street/highway driving conditions. The engine is the 6. 2l v8. The issue began with a high pitch squeal or chirping sound and noticeable power loss. I parked the truck over night and then drove it to the dealer first thing the next morning. While on the way to the dealership, which was less than 20 miles away, the engine began having much bigger issues. A loud knocking noise was apparent and the rear end began locking up causing the tires to also lock up. Once at the dealership the engine completely failed and locked up. The engine did have the newly recommended 0w-40 oil installed prior to the failure.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 65–70 mph, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact attempted to pull over to the shoulder of the road, but the vehicle lost automotive power. Additionally, the engine had seized. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not inspected. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift to neutral. The failure had occurred while driving on a busy highway and created an unsafe driving condition. In addition, the contact stated that new york state troopers assisted with the traffic control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
I'm reporting a 5mpg fuel economy reduction immediately following the 6. 2l l87 engine recall (NHTSA #24v795000). I use 93 octane and monitor my fuel mileage consistently. I bragged about my fuel economy in my 6. 2l until after the recall was applied. This is going to cause a financial hardship as I'm on fixed income after servicing 29 years in the army and 100% disabled. There is no other reason my mpg should have changed as my driving habits have not.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle continued to lose power with a huge cloud of white smoke coming from under the hood. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled off to the shoulder of the roadway, and the vehicle shut off unexpectedly. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the engine failed after the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 25v274000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The message "hot oil shutting down" was displayed. The contact coasted to the side of the road, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,500.
I am reporting another engine failure on the 6. 2l l87. This engine passed the initial recall testing and the oil was changed to 0w40 on September 30, 2025. However, my engine in my 2023 lt trail boss started knocking on Friday, March 20, 2026 (at 22,500 miles) after I picked up my children from school. Thankfully it started as I pulled into my driveway with them so they weren’t in any danger. No loss of power on the truck or warning lights visible. However, it was loud enough and odd enough for my [xxx] olds to even notice the sound in the cab. It was dropped off at the dealership on that Saturday morning and the gm dealership was finally able to look at it on Wednesday, March 25th and confirmed what was expected. The advisor stated the engine will need to be replaced due to the engine heading towards bearing/crankshaft failure. I am still currently without my truck as of today (April 4th) with no repair date in sight. I will say that the dealership service advisor has been very good about communicating about its status. However, he stated that he has had no luck finding an new engine and is unable to give a timetable in getting one. He did offer to start a po for a rental car through enterprise. He stated they are not giving loaners, but could get a rental car. He also stated that it would not be a truck due to gm only giving $50 per day towards a rental. So here I sit currently without my truck. I see multiple reports about the engines being on back order and even the replacement engines are failing within the fist 500 miles. Some reports indicating they are on the third or fourth engine. Something needs to done about getting these trucks bought back by gm. They have clearly failed with this engine and are replacing the failed engines with the same thing! it is a well documented manufacturing flaw and design! I am thankful it occurred near my home. I would not have been happy with a catastrophic failure on a highway with my [xxx] old children in the truck!! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of inf.
While driving on the freeway without warning, my engine stopped working. My vehicle was towed to the chevy dealership where they confirmed that I was the latest victim of the ongoing engine failure problem with the 6. 2 l engine. There was no warning, no sign that I had a problem. My engine just simply stopped working on a busy freeway. I was barely able to make it to the shoulder where I had merging traffic coming on the freeway behind me. I’m deeply concerned that chevy will replace it with the same faulty engine and I will be put in the same danger situation again in the future.
The vehicle is currently exhibiting a loud, rhythmic metallic ticking/tapping noise from the top of the engine. This is a known precursor to a sudden, catastrophic loss of motive power as documented in gm service bulletins pip5847a and pip6101. The cause is attributed to manufacturing debris within the hydraulic valve lash adjusters, which prevents proper lubrication and causes valvetrain desynchronization. This defect leads to severe engine misfires (dtc p0300), "reduced engine power" mode, and potential engine seizure. ?1. Component/system: the 2. 7l l3b engine valvetrain / hydraulic lash adjusters. The vehicle is available for inspection. ?2. Safety risk: the audible ticking indicates imminent mechanical failure. This defect causes sudden and unexpected loss of motive power at highway speeds. Driving in this condition puts me at extreme risk of being stranded in active traffic or losing power while merging/passing, creating an immediate risk of high-speed rear-end collisions. Gm is aware of this debris-related defect via tsbs but has not issued a safety recall to prevent the resulting power loss. ?3. Dealer confirmation: yes, confirmed by Chevrolet dealer on 3/18/26. The dealer knows about this particular issue, and decided not to act. ?4. Inspection history: inspected by authorized Chevrolet service technician. ?5. Warning symptoms: loud metallic ticking/clacking that increases with engine rpm. This is a known precursor to a sudden, catastrophic loss of motive power as documented in gm service bulletins pip5847a and pip6101.
Driving at highway speeds the message center prompted us to restart the truck and put itself into neutral. Upon attempting to do so, the message center read conditions not correct to shift. We were traveling in a single lane highway thankfully on a decent where we coasted into a parking lot. The truck list all power steering and brakes. We turned the truck off and attempted to restart. Lights were randomly flickering on and off, but the starter couldn’t turn the engine over. After 3 hours of waiting on Chevrolet roadside assistance we obtained our own tow service. The truck tires had seized up causing the driver to drag the truck into the flatbed. The emergency brake kept resetting itself. The following day 7/13 Chevrolet had the truck towed to the dealership. On Monday 7/16 we were informed the engine had catastrophic failure with less than 24k miles. This is the second major engine breakdown as the first was at 5k miles where one side of the engine had collapsed lifters. Engines are on back order but in reviewing other experiences the replacements experience the same issues. The truck is not a safe vehicle to drive.
2023 1500 rst 6. 2. Recall was done and performed last year. Truck passed so they changed the oil and sent me on my way. I have had zero issues up until last week. My gut tells me the replacement is going to be the same engine with the same failing parts that I already have so expect I may have issues in the future even after the new engine. -on interstate going 55mph, went to accelerate to 70mph and throttle did nothing; no rpm,no down shift, no speed change. Just dead. Suddenly the truck shut off the engine and kicked my transmission into neutral. I tried to restart the truck hoping it would fire just long enough to get me to a safe zone with no luck as the starter would turn but nothing from the engine. Mind you this was rush hour in a construction zone with no shoulder available at the moment. Luckily I coasted, got to the slow lane and was able to veer off safely onto the side of an exit ramp. No notice, no way to safely limp my truck, just a complete shut down. How this isn’t a lawsuit or more people haven’t been seriously injured or worse is beyond me- a total shutdown while driving highway speeds and no way to overcome or at least limit the speed for a short period is unbelievable. Even though warranty is now through 2033/150k miles for the powertrain due to the recall, and I’ve also thought about adding 3-4 years extended for bumper to bumper with all the tech, I now have zero faith in my truck or my safety once I get it back. I’m sure the trade value will also be considerably low due to the 6. 2. I’ve owned chevys for 12 years and am either going back to the 5. 3 or switching brands altogether. Possibly a 5. 7 hemi without etorque.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 41,100.
Formal complaint–recall fraud & VIN tampering subject: falsified recall n252494000 & 18 u. S. C. § 511 violations vehicle: 2023 chevy silverado (VIN: [xxx] ) incident: March 7, 2026 from: [xxx] | [xxx] I am reporting severe federal recall fraud and VIN tampering by kunes auto group (WI). Gm records and physical evidence prove kunes falsified safety recall n252494000 (l87 loss of propulsion) and sold an illegally rebuilt wreck with mismatched vins. 1. Falsified recall: on 4/9/2024, kunes logged a picoscope inspection marking the recall "passed" (trans #xx-xxx). The NHTSA remedy requires installing a 0w-40 oil cap/flush. When the engine seized on 3/7/2026, it still had the factory 0w-20 cap. Kunes billed gm for a safety remedy never performed. 2. Concealed defects: despite the "closed" recall, the truck exhibited l87 defect symptoms. I brought it to kunes three times (oct 2025 - Feb 2026). They dismissed the warnings and released the truck as safe. 3. VIN fraud (18 u. S. C. § 511): the 2023 truck has 2025-stamped frame/axle parts. Holz motors (authorized gm) blacklisted it on 3/6/2026 (ro #1583470), stating in writing: "due to. . . Mismatched vins door to dash, salvaged rear axle. . . Holz will not bring this truck in. " 4. Highway failure: on 3/7/2026, the l87 motor suffered total loss of propulsion at 70 mph in traffic. The sudden loss of power steering/braking nearly caused a multi-vehicle fatality. Requested action: 1. Audit kunes’s picoscope data for the 4/9/2024 transaction. 2. Investigate remedy fraud (missing 0w-40 cap). 3. Investigate tampered/mismatched vins and off-the-books rebuild. 4. Sanction dealer for fraudulent safety certifications. I declare under penalty of perjury these statements are true. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The vehicle lost power and went into limp mode on 3/3. I had it transported to a dealership and they said there was metal containments in the motor. I got it back on 3/17 and they said all was well but it never drove right. It broke down again on 3/20 and the said the throttle body was out. Why had they not found this issue before? this seems to be a recurring issue with this model truck.
At 29k miles, truck was receiving an oil change and general maintenance. Metal flakes were found in the oil and small shaving in the bottom of the drain bucket. Vehicle was sent to a gm dealership to be tested. Engine passed pico test even though metal was present in the oil.
On [xxx], my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lt caught fire while parked in my residential driveway at [xxx] . The vehicle had been started approximately 10 minutes earlier using the factory-installed remote start system. The vehicle was unattended at the time. My neighbor noticed the vehicle on fire and called 911. The andover fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The fire department indicated the fire appeared to be electrical in nature. The fire appeared to originate in the dashboard and steering column area based on visible damage and fire progression. The vehicle had approximately 60,000 miles and was properly maintained. There were no prior warning lights, messages, or symptoms before the fire. The remote start system was factory-installed and not aftermarket. The vehicle is currently available for inspection by insurance, manufacturer, or investigators at [xxx] . The vehicle is likely a total loss due to the extent of the fire damage. This incident posed a serious safety risk as the vehicle caught fire spontaneously while parked near my home. The fire could have spread to my residence or caused injury if someone had been inside or near the vehicle. The fire department responded, and an official fire report is pending. Insurance claim has been opened and inspection is pending. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
My engine completely died, and a complete loss of propulsion happened. My safety was put at risk due to no power while on busy highway. This problem with l87 engines (6. 2) has been reported extensively. The vehicle was inspected for gm program # n252494000, NHTSA 25v74 for above issues and was inspected on 2025-08-28. Inspection passed, but the failure ultimatel happened on 2025-02-25. Dealer indicated engine was covered under original powertrain warranty and gm would send a remanufactured engine. Dealer has still not received the engine as of Monday (2/23), which is almost a month later. While driving on a us highway in a rural area, my engine suddenly died while driving approximately 60mph. The restart engine light came on, and I quickly was unsure what was happening as I felt myself slowing down slightly after realizing I had no power and the engine would not restart. I believe it went to neutral automatically. I was in the inside lane, and it was incredibly dangerous due to traffic around me. I could not easily exit to side of road due to the traffic, but luckily a gap formed, and I was able to abruptly get off the road. I have kids in the car daily, and this would have been life threatening had it happen in any other scenario, or especially in a larger city or busier highway. I am confident this is related to gm's issues with the 6. 2 liter engines. I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 zr2 that this happened to. The loss of propulsion is clearly due to the defect in these engines.
Purchased 2023 Chevrolet silverado zr2 with 6. 2 l engine in November 2025 with 3400 miles on it. According to the dealership the engine passed the recall on 09/25. At 6,500 miles the check engine light, esc light, stability control light came on. Engine was running rough, degradation of engine power, and very rough transmission shifting. Vehicle was taken back to purchasing dealership and was told the lifters and rods will have to be replaced.
Loss of engine propulsion while traveling down a highway towing a #5000 trailer at 65 mph. Less than five miles before the failure the vehicle experienced a momentary downshift of the transmission such as you would experience while climbing a hill or extreme headwind. No warning lights were present at that time or at any time prior to engine shutdown. Upon failure panel indicated "press engine start" and transmission indicated "park" though we were rolling/coasting at over 60 mph. Realizing that we had lost propulsion I guided the vehicle to the shoulder and stopped. Solid check engine light on at this time. Depressing the "start" button while stopped would not start or crank over the engine. Boost box would not crank engine, slight noise from starter as if unable to turn engine over. Called tow truck, seewald's towing in st. Ignace, mi. Towed to nearest Chevrolet dealer wheeler motors cheboygan, mi.
Engine failed, started making noise and was shutting off, engine was locking up.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? engine how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the truck exhibited an abnormal, rough idle, severe shuddering, poor acceleration, unable to maintain speed on highway and in traffic has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no, only the dealer were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, check engine light appeared and was cleared by dealer, then reappeared a week later.
My truck took my truck to austin and back. Woke up the next day. Started it at approximately 4 o'clock in the afternoon and had engine oil low alert. Got out check the oil in my truck and there was none on the dipstick with the truck off of course. Checked at two other times allowing the dipstick to stay in for three or four minutes. Still no oil on the dipstick. Did not drive truck any further. Truck has the 6. 2 l and I had the recall applied to the truck on December 8. The truck has 88% of the oil life remaining according to the truck.
My husband was driving on plank rd/rt 219 towards ebensburg PA when the truck started to buck and he turned off the main road and it shut down. It would not start just said low battery. I had it towed to the garage we use. They just confirmed it is the engine it locked up. I had the inspection for the recall and had the oil changed prior to this happening.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet silverado ld crew. The vehicle was taken for a recall repair due to a the crank shaft bearings failure. The contact stated that awhile after the repair was completed , the engine was ticking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, where it was diagnosed with metal shavings in the engine. The dealer stated a new motor may be needed which would be the fourth motor installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 45 mph, the message “reduce acceleration – drive with care” was displayed. The vehicle was driven to the residence with an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the failure was associated with a coolant sensor failure; however, it was unknown whether the dealer had repaired the vehicle. The dealer then informed the contact that the vehicle was safe to drive. However, while driving 65-70 mph, the engine overheated and the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The failure was initially related to a coolant sensor, and the dealer advised the contact that the part was ordered; however, upon following up, another technician advised the contact that a digital multivalve was ordered. The contact stated that upon returning to the dealer, the dealer advised the contact to sign the service documents. The contact stated that after insisting on reading the service documents prior to the signature, the dealer provided the documents to the contact; however, the dealer later snatched the documents from the contact while the contact was reading the documents. The contact stated that it was unknown whether the vehicle was serviced. The service manager later informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired because the contact and the dealer could not come to an agreement. The contact informed the dealer that the vehicle should be repaired under the warranty. The vehicle was picked up from the dealer unrepaired. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the dealer's denial by the dealer to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer informed the contact that there would be a follow-up with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
On 1/21/26 traveling on a 4 lane divided highway, vehicle stalled, several warning lights came on and vehicle came to a complete stop in driving lane. Vehicle locked in park and could not put vehicle in neutral to push it out of highway. Several vehicle swerved to avoid and until tow truck came blocked a lane. It was about 3:30pm fortunately. So vehicle was visible and no accidents to our knowledge occurred. Thai created a dangerous traffic situation. It was caused by a fuel pump control module whig was repaired 2 days later at local chevy dealer. We were advised there were no recalls on this part but it is a common problem. Gm should somehow find a solution and repair said problem.
My vehicle was part of the recall n25494000 l87 engine loss of propulsion. Vehicle went in for recall on Sep-30th 2025, picoscope inspection was done and vehicle passed. Oil was changed to 0w 40 with new oil filter. Dec-26/27 of 2025 vehicle started stalling, for no reason but no engine light. The dealer said there was no problem because there was no engine light, so there was no way to find out what was wrong. January 11th 2026 vehicle lost propulsion 7 times on the freeway, vehicle had a hard time re-starting and started smelling oil burning smell. Vehicle engine light stayed on, 1/11/2026 vehicle was running a little rough with abnormal tapping noise but made it to the dealer for inspection.
