While driving, the truck suddenly boggs down and gets sluggish. A message appeared once that said reduced acceleration drive with care. It is dangerous because it loses power and stalls in front of other vehicles. I took it to the dealership on Friday the 17th and they said it was the crank position sensor. They ordered the part and I took it back on Monday the 20th and they replaced the sensor. Today, while driving down the highway it did the same thing again. I will be taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. The truck has 26,000 miles on it.
Transmission- lost reverse and some forward gears too. Without any warning signs and no check engine light until hours after. It is going into the dealership on Monday (4/20) and this all happened on (4/17/2024).
On 04/03/2026 at approximately 0545 I was heading in to work . While at a complete stop I proceeded to accelerate on the highway 54 brf WI. 54615 when the truck made a clunking noise and jerked. At which point the engine light turned on along with reduced speed message across the display screen. Unable to pull over safely at the moment I had to proceed no faster than 25 mph on us 54 hindering all traffic behind me. Once safely pulled over I placed the truck in park, then neutral , which made a loud clunking noise and absolutely no reverse. Truck towed to local dealership. Vehicle had been inspected by dealer tech. Tech stated faulty valve body in the transmission.
The 6. 2l v8 motor is known to have faulty internals. I was driving down the highway and the motor shut off. The vehicle needs a new motor now. Gm has offered an oil viscosity change to 0w-40. That was done 20k miles ago. This vehicle now needs a new motor.

The vehicle is currently at an authorized dealership and is available for inspection by the manufacturer or NHTSA upon request. 2. Safety risk: the sudden loss of power at highway speeds created an immediate risk of a rear-end collision. Because the electronic transmission locked and would not allow the vehicle to be shifted into neutral, it became a fixed object on a high-speed shoulder. It could not be pushed to a safer location, increasing the risk of a secondary accident. 3. Problem reproduction: the vehicle was towed directly to an authorized Chevrolet dealership. As of this filing, the dealership is in possession of the vehicle, but the failure has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a technician as they are awaiting formal diagnostic commencement. 4. Inspections: the vehicle was inspected by a roadside towing professional for transport. It is currently at the manufacturer’s authorized service center awaiting a formal diagnostic inspection. No police or insurance inspections have occurred. 5. Warning symptoms: there were no warning lamps, "check engine" lights, or messages prior to the failure. What is happening with my vehicle is a major safety concern in my opinion for myself and for my family. I purchased the vehicle on February 18,2026 from ryan Ford in sealy,TX with approx 32,800 miles. The first incident was on March 16 with 33,718 miles, my daughter and I went to leave the lowe’s parking lot and my vehicle would not go in reverse. It however would go in drive, so after being pushed back out of the parking spot we left for our home. (this part of not going in reverse I do have on video) once on the feeder road and up to approx 45mph my vehicle went completely out of gear and had to coast to a stop on the side the road. Turned vehicle off and on and it went back in gear, after making it home I made and appointment with the dealership and dropped it off that day. I was informed no codes came up and the dealership could not get the issue to duplicate so I received my vehicle back. The second incident was on March 21 trying to leave the convenient store, I put my vehicle in reverse and pressed on the gas to go backward and nothing happened. Then I pressed on the gas again and it threw my vehicle in reverse and jolted my truck back several feet before I could press on the brake. Luckily no one or no object was behind me. The third incident was on April 3rd trying to leave walmart. My truck would not go in reverse again. I pressed the gas pedal several times and out of nowhere again it threw itself in reverse and jolted my truck back again. (I also have this on video as well).
I was driving down the highway and the vehicle suddenly shutoff without any warning. I coasted down an off-ramp and came to a stop in the middle of a round about. The vehicle would not re-fire and had to be towed to dealership. When at dealership it was discovered the engine failed. This is a 2024 6. 2 liter engine that was not included in recall. I could have caused an accident on the highway as I suddenly lost power. People who were included in this recall received a 10 year 150k warranty on the new engine. My truck should be included in that.
On 1/31/2026, while returning from an akc event with my xxx year old border collie, I was traveling on ixxx at approximately 70mph in the left hand lane passing other traffic. As I started up a hill in a remote area, I began to hear a knocking sound coming from the engine compartment that sounded like a rod knocking and the truck began to struggle to continue up the hill. It then lost all power, a message stating to shift to neutral and restart flashed on infotainment screen, I shifted to neutral and pushed the start button, but everything went blank. I had to struggle to merge back into right lane and eventually over to the breakdown lane, approximately 5 miles from the nearest exit. I was forced to remain on the side of a busy interstate for approximately two hours during an unusually cold day for florida that consisted of snow flurries while waiting for roadside assistance. Luckily, I was able to arrive at the dealership 5 minutes before closing and was able to get my truck checked in. The service writer knew exactly what the likely issue was when I described my ordeal, and it was partially confirmed when she pulled the christmas tree of codes from the computer that my truck was throwing. It should be noted that the truck would not restart after the catastrophic failure that stopped the motor at 70mph on the interstate and would not shift to neutral for the tow truck operator to load or unload onto flatbed. Subsequently, techs determined that engine failed due to suspected internal damage to crankshaft and motor was replaced under warranty along with torque converter. The failed engine serial number was [xxx] but I was never notified or included in current recall 25v274, it did not show as active recall in gm app nor was it inspected during lof visits at various gm service departments. My truck was in gm service from 1/31 - 2/21 for the engine replacement, mileage on 2024 Silverado 1500 high country was 25,274 at failure. Transmission failed at 15000 miles. Attempted to shift to reverse and instead car went into neutral. Allowed me to shift into forward but quickly went into “limp mode” once underway. Seems like the same issue as many similar gm trucks have had with transmissions but my 2024 is not included in active recalls when searched by VIN. Suspect it probably should be since issue appears to be the same as those that are.
Truck was purchased Aug 2024 during first few months, I felt a shudder/vibration when either holding speed and/or slightly accelerating between 30-45 mph, usually at 1100-1300 rpm. Current odometer 33,995 in the last month the truck has began to vibrate worse. I have a "rumblestrip" feeling when at the same speeds. More noticeable on surface roads when following behind traffic at 30-45 mph. Generally the shudder is felt at approx. 1100-1300 rpm. Took the truck to the dealer yesterday, and they performed a quick roadtest. Service tech was able to feel the rumble strip shudder multiple times, however their diagnostic tool only indicated a tcc slip 2 times during a 20 min drive. The shudder/vibration happens when in "d". It is not present in "l9", or in "tow mode". The shudder feels worse in 4wd. If the shudder/vibration is happening, I am able to hold the speed and rpm at the current spot, the sensation is continuous and does not go away unless I accelerate or decelerate. I tend to feel it more when on an incline, and decelerating. As or right now the data has been sent to gm for diagnostic viewing. Found multiple TSB for issue with 2500/3500 models, and 1500 models from prior years. L84 engine - 2024 Silverado 1500 rst.
Hard/delayed shifting, slipping, shuddering , like rumble strips at certain speeds. Jerking, bucking, or significant delays when shifting gears. Shuddering/vibration: a feeling like driving over rumble strips, especially at certain speeds and when warm.
After engine blows due to recall and engine not running, it is impossible to shift the electronic transmission into neutral mode for towing. This happened to me in November of 2025 and I was recently told that I should report the issue. Neither the tow truck operator nor myself were able to get the vehicle into neutral without the engine running. I could have easily been stuck in the middle of traffic and no one would be able to help me move to a safe location. Some way of easily getting the vehicle into neutral without the engine running needs to be added to all silverado’s with electronic transmissions.
The coolant control valve and the transmission control module are having to be replaced on thousands of Silverado 1500s from 2022 to 2025. Both parts have been updated, but there is no recall and many people are being left stranded due to this. Mine has not currently failed, but I am older and really don’t want to get stranded due to a known issue. Why wouldn’t they have been forced to do a recall general motors should be replacing these as a preemptive precaution.

Complaint description on Tuesday October 28th, 2025 while driving to work, my 2024 chevy silverado ltz suddenly went into limp mode during normal driving. The truck would not go into reverse at all. I had to use onstar to call a tow from my residence because the vehicle was not safe or able to be operated. The truck has been at the Chevrolet dealership since that day and as of today (November 7th) it still has not been repaired. The service department confirmed it is a failed transmission valve body. Research shows this is a recurring and known issue on many gm trucks and gm does not appear to have a permanent fix yet. Component/system that failed: transmission valve body failure. Component is currently located at the gm dealership and is available for inspection. Safety risk: this failure caused sudden limp mode, loss of power, and inability to reverse while in active traffic. This put my safety and potentially other drivers at risk due to sudden unexpected deceleration and inability to maneuver safely. Problem confirmed: yes. Confirmed by gm dealership service technicians. Inspection: the vehicle is currently at the gm dealership. No manufacturer field rep, insurance, or police inspection has occurred yet. Warnings / codes present: the failure occurred without prior early signs that morning. When it failed, onstar diagnostics reported: p2732: transmission system — “engine and transmission system not performing as expected. ” p0700: transmission control module requested malfunction indicator lamp illumination. Emissions related dtc set in the transmission control module. Both codes triggered at the time limp mode activated. Best assessment: this appears to be an ongoing recurring gm transmission valve body issue affecting newer gm trucks. The failure caused a sudden loss of drive capability and is a safety hazard that requires NHTSA investigation.
8 speed transmission without any warning, started shaking and clunking and slipping while doing 55mph in traffic causing sudden loss of momentum. 8 speed transmission failure. Dealership says bad transmission control module and won’t inspect internal components. Chevy is still playing games with people with their defective 8 speed transmissions. They have not fixed all of their previous problems.
2024 chvrolet 3. 0 diesel is losing oil at 3k miles on every oil change. Dtc p06dd , dealership did an oil consumption test, they have determined there is signifcant oil loss after every oil change after 3k miles. Truck is at 71k miles. Engine power loss while driving, check engine light on, drove straight to the dealership.
Truck did not have reverse. Service engine came on after going forward and possible loud shudder like going over a pot hole. Not sure if it was a pot hole or transmission. Dealer fixed the valve body in transmission after 1 week.
For the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle off a dealership lot…what a mistake. While the dealership itself was an awful experience I thought it was worth it for a chevy silverado. After all my previous one was so reliable. Wrong. The first issue I found was I was unable to shift into reverse to back out of the driveway of a fire station I volunteer at. After driving forward a couple times and shutting the vehicle off and shifting multiple times I had to be towed out in reverse. I was able to drive home but the transmissions slipped once and the vehicle slowed abruptly. The check engine light was now on. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership over the weekend and on Monday they called and informed me the 2024 silverado misfired once and nothing was wrong with the transmission. There was nothing they could do. About two months later I was driving to work as a career firefighter/paramedic when my vehicles check engine light came on and a message informed me that I was in “reduced acceleration mode”. I slowly and carefully made my way to work and brought the truck to the dealership after my shift. The check engine light was now on again. They informed me later that day that I had a faulty valve body in my transmission. They “unfortunately” could not give me a completion date on my repair as they had no eta for the replacement part. It appears the part is in high demand. This makes sense as a quick google search shows this is a widely known issue with the 10 speed transmission. So far I have been unable to get a rental vehicle between the dealership and gm. Aside from my house my 2024 silverado is the largest purchase of my life. And at 15,000 miles I am without it for the foreseeable future. As a first responder the communities I serve depend on me to respond from home at any hour. My family and I are living in a diy renovation while also starting a farm business. I need a dependable vehicle and regret spending $53,000 on a new vehicle. I have more to say.

The contact was informed that the valve body needed to be replaced, and the transmission was leaking transmission fluid, but the leak was not located. The valve body was repaired, and the transmission fluid was topped off, but the failure reoccurred 2-3 months later. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,900.

Experience hard shifting into park from a stopped position a week or more prior to incident. While driving, several hard shifts were experienced which resulted in the vehicle unable to surpass 30 mph. Cel illuminated displaying codes: p0747 and p0700. Suspected transmission valve body issue. Lost the high gears on the interstate. Had keep it under 60 to keep rpms under 4000.

New police vehicle on the road for only two months with only 6030 miles on it. Check engine light came on vehicle lost all power, no reverse, transmission would not shift. Warning came up about decreased acceleration. Managed to get vehicle to dealer, computer scanning stated that transmission valve body failed.
When in normal drive mode, an unexpected or accidental bump of the transmission t-handle shifter between the seats towards rear of vehicle while at a stop sign or parking lot, etc. Will "lock the transmission in low gear 1 out of 10 available gears". If one pulls out into traffic without noticing this event, the engine will approach redline without shifting into the next gear until the situation is acknowledged and the t-handle is one again pulled back to reset it into automatic drive mode. This is frustrating and potentially dangerous if the situation is not recognized quickly. I suppose engine damage could be at risk. There is "no save the engine by automatically selecting the next gear if this condition happens. There is also no lockout requiring the t-handle shift button on the side requiring to be pushed to acknowledge the desire to set this mode". I tested similar settings on Honda pilot and it does upshift even if in this manual mode to protect engine and occupants from this difficult situation. I personally will no longer allow any others to drive my truck until this situation is remedied. It appears to be dangerous to me and my truck for those who have no idea this can occur. Please try it for yourself. Vehicle must be similar to 2024 silverado high country w t-handle shifter between the seats. My hope is an over the air update can remedy this situation.
Valve body needs to be replaced. The truck is still under warranty. I have taken it to the dealership, they ordered the part and told me it was safe to drive in limp mode. I've since been waiting a month for the part to come in without a replacement vehicle. I can't drive to work and am losing quite a bit of business. There is a valve body in stock 97 miles away and gm will not ship it to my local dealer or help me in any way. The truck will not make it 97 miles for the repair. The check engine light stays on for a few days and goes off. I can only drive about 10 miles before it goes into limp mode and the dash will tell me I have reduced acceleration and to drive safely. As far as the safety of me and others unknown. The dealer has confirmed there is an issue but insists I continue to drive it even though I'm damaging the transmission.
My silverado has what seems to be a known issue with recent model silverados which is a broken/blown valve body at the transmission. The week of the failure, my truck began having rough shifting from first to second gear first thing in the morning, but would be fine after that. Two days later this progressed to all of the gears and nearly stranded me and my kids on the interstate due to not being able to maintain speed. I got the truck to the dealership where they looked up diagnosis code and told me it was the valve body and it would require replacing. Unfortunately, the part is on national backorder with unknown delivery time. Looking online, it seems this is a known issue and parts seems to be months (6+) behind. I am stuck paying for a rental car that gm says I will get reimbursed for, but we will see. To complete the questions above, I did not notice any warning lights or notices until it failed.
Pulled into parking lot and went into a store. Upon leaving I noticed the vehicle would not back up when placed into reverse gear. The engine would rev but, no movement. I pushed the vehicle backwards and then restarted it. The vehicle would move forward. I stopped and attempted to try the reverse gear a few more times with no luck. As I started driving on the main roadway toward the gm dealership, the vehicle upshifted once and then displayed a warning along with e check engine light. Once at the dealership, they scanned the vehicle and confirmed a transmission issue. The vehicle never showed any symptoms prior to the failure.
Engine safety concern. Grinding and clunking while engine is running and gets worse under load or when accelerating. Have taken into dealer for service over 6 times. Recall service was performed and their fix was to change to a thicker oil but all that caused was worse fuel economy, more expensive oil changes, and the noises have become worse. Going back to dealer next week for another attempt. Have requested lemon replacement with gm but they are denying any issue.
I got my new 2024 chevy silverado 2. 7l turbomax custom 6 months ago. It shifts weird the first few times from a cold start. I have asked the salesman and he said yeah you have to let the truck warm up for 5 min or so. But even in doing so it still happens, worse the colder out it is. Yesterday I went to grab some food and went to take off onto the main road and when it tried to shift from first to second it felt like the transmission just stopped working for a few seconds then hit 2nd gear hard. I was told this was because the truck needs to get used to the way I drive it. Which I now have close to 4,000 miles on it and it still happens almost every time I shut the truck off and it cools down to ambient temperature. I know this is not normal, and a big safety concern because when I do go to pull out and this happens it feels like a total loss of power and does not take off like it should. I have yet to bring it into the dealership. But I have called about the issue and was told this is normal and would go away. Which it has not. So I am going to make a appointment to get it in the shop. I have also read that many others are having this same exact issue. In which case some people are saying they told them the same thing “that it’s normal”, I have heard others say they will change transmission fluid because the fluid they used is to thick, and have heard of others who had to have them change out the control module for the transmission and or reset it. I am just worried that I’m going to pull out on day and have this happen and get hit from the rear because I don’t have the power I should have to take off properly. Not to mention I should not have to let my car idle for 5-10 min before I can drive it. That’s a huge waste of gas, and time, plus having your direct injection idle makes a ton of carbon build up in the engine. I am not a certified technician but I have been working on my own vehicles for over 20 years now. So a brand new truck should not be doing this.
Truck has 7000 miles defective valve body failure would not go into reverse and in limp went to dealership and diagnosis is needs valve body replacement with parts on back order with no eta. They said it could be 3-5 months. This is a national issue I’m on multiple social media sites for chevy trail boss and there is too many to count and it’s been happening since 2021. Gm has been no help no loaners and you have to pay for a rental for 3-5 months and pay your truck payments and hopes you are reimbursed at the end. They just recalled the 2021-2022 same 10spd transmissions they are selling trucks knowing these issues exist also the lifter issues with total engine failures at 10000 miles. The transmission lock up at high speeds.
Transmission pauses from 1st and 2nd gear. Causing to have no acceleration from a stop. Can cause safety issue to accelerate while pulling in front of traffic. Truck has been to the dealer. Dealer says no codes triggered but the pausing still persists and is only getting worse. Truck has been doing it since around 30,000 miles. Truck currently has 36,760 miles.
I had a engine failure in my 2024 chevy silverrado trail boss1500. I had just exited off the highway and came to a complete stop at the stoplight. When the light turned green, I hit the gas pedal and I did not move. I looked down at my gear shifter and noticed the truck was in park (I did not shift the truck into park). I tried to put the truck into drive and realized the engine was not running. I tried starting the truck and it would not start. The truck would crank, but would not start up. I tried this several times with no luck getting truck started. I even tried to put the truck in neutral to get the truck out of the middle of the road and could not get it neutral to move it. I called chevy roadside to tow it to the dealer. The dealership called me on Tuesday and said the engine had blown because of a bearing failure and engine needs replaced. Also, they have not let me know approx time I will get my truck back. They claim there's a shortages of engines on the 6. 2 liter engine.
Was pulling out onto the road from sitting at a traffic light, vehicle was going less than 25mph when the engine made a clunk trying to shift and the check engine light came on. Computer software indicated “limp mode with reduced acceleration activated. ” vehicle wouldn’t accelerate above 35mph, had to drive on major highway to get to dealership. Truck is only used as commuter vehicle hasn’t towed anything. Dealership indicated valve body transmission failed with vehicle only have 9k miles on it. Part is on back order as it is being manufactured due to installed faulty part, problem has been going on in 2023/2024 chevy and GMC trucks since January 2024 without a recall put in place. Problem is being fixed after the part fails and the truck fails to run at optimal valves. According to forums software update were installed versus recalls to the actually valve body part being. I was sold a truck in sept 2024 with a faulty installed part versus it being fixed before it was purchased. This caused me to be stranded 1500 miles away from my home and we were not made aware of the know valve body transmission issue. The information was covered up versus being disclosed.
The transmission slips into neutral when in drive or reverse. Yes dealer states it the valve body on transmission part not available called general motors and they state looking to get part can not tell us how long this is on a brand new chevy silverrado 4wd 2024.
Vehicle has left me stranded multiple times, once over 2000 miles from home at only 26k miles on the vehicle with catastrophic engine emissions and electrical failures. Costing me thousands in lodging and months of my time. My vehicle has stalled multiple times on interstates and busy roads with no shoulders putting me and other drivers at risk.
While driving my vehicle on the highway I was exiting when I looked down at the instrument panel it stated a message along the lines of shifting to neutral and to press the ignition to restart engine. I noticed the vehicle wasn’t accelerating when attempting so I slowed down and did what it instructed me to do. The engine then wouldn’t start, I was uneasy because cars were coming from behind at a decent speed because of morning traffic. I somehow managed to get it to crank and took it to the dealer right away. They stated it was from low voltage and were replacing the battery under warranty. I didn’t think that was the cause but gave them the benefit of the doubt. 2 weeks later while taking my family out, the same incident happened. I wasn’t able to get it to crank and had to get it towed to the dealer. They stated it was the engine because now the engine was making a loud sound when ignited. It is about to be 4 weeks without vehicle and no repair has been made due to no inventory on engines.
My truck had a check engine light come on for the transmission 2 months ago and then it went off before it was serviced. They said they couldn’t do anything since the light went off. Then last week I didn’t have reverse and it wouldn’t shift into gear. A week after it had been in the shop they told me the transmission valve body needs to be replaced. Expected date for parts to arrive is 3-10.

The message on the dashboard board displayed something like unable to access. So I went to see if service center open since it was [xxx]. He instructed me to drive around I said it will be not go into motion. After 15 minutes I checked the status on my phone and it did not display anything wrong so I went ahead and turned it on and drove it to the service center but once again it would not accelerate and shock vigorously. Once in the service line it turned off and did not stay on. Dealership ran diagnostics he mentioned cylinder and piston but they need to run more test. He called me back 2/14/25 asked if I had taken it to the dealership where I bought since purchased I said no it’s brand new, it looks tampered with . Called me back again and said this vehicle had a motor recall and a technician at riverside chevy worked on it and all the components are not connected we can work on it it need to go back to them and they need to explain what is wrong. This is a brand new vehicle that only had 17 miles when purchased by me ,at the moment it has 709 miles non of the components of this vehicle are new anymore they are either melted or rattling inside ,the gas tank sounded like empty cans rolling around, the transmission would not make the vehicle move. Truck went into second gear unexpectedly at 50 mph due to what dealer said was a bad solenoid. Gm has had the truck for over a month with no date of an times repair due to no parts being available.
Driving on interstate 85 on cruise control when I herd the motor rpm start to climb so I tapped the break and that’s when the truck shut itself off and put itself in neutral causing me to have to coast over to shoulder of the road. Message on the dash said push start button to start again. There were no check engine lights, no overheating temperature lights. No codes at all. The truck is a 2024 with 62,000 miles and all oil changes on time. Upon checking online , this has happened to other vehicle owners as well. Apparently the chevy silverado with the 6. 2 liter engine has problems with push rods and bearings. Some have replaced multiple engines. Chevy wants me to pay for new engine.
Vehicle defect appears related to recall but dealership is unable to identify without tear down of engine. Previous dealership when first reported non responsive. Manufacturer refusing to further fix and or resolve outstanding safety issue of major safety concern.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trail boss while driving, I was given no notice to the vehicle shutting down, couldn't go forward nor backwards. Barely got off the road, waited hours on rollback. Dealership ran a test, said "control valve body " problem. Part is ordered, on back order. Gm - taking software to attempt to monitor when? this problem is going to occur? they know about excessive wear, why not re-engingeer this problem instead of selling vehicles that no one knows when this problem of stopping on the road will occur. That would be a safety issue. A hazardous issue of driving on the road and not know when this would happen. If the vehicle doesn't stop from gm software, the rear wheel brakes lock up.
The valve body in my transmission went out in colorado where my truck is currently at a dealership under warranty. They are putting my job at risk due to the fact that I bought that truck specifically for work since I travel all over the country for work. I told them that I need the part expedited because I need to leave colorado and go to texas for work on the 28th and still no help at all. All I’m asking for is for the part or a new transmission to be sent and installed before the month ends. Because if it doesn’t I’ll get fired if I don’t make it to texas. On 1/13/25 while driving my new vehicle and arriving at destination I placed vehicle in park for 10 mins and then left putting vehicle in reverse and transmission in reverse would not engage, rolling me into decline slope and almost crashing into home. After receiving help to push vehicle in neutral, I placed car in drive and sent to dealership. Truck seemed fine in drive. Parkway Chevrolet, tomball, TX inspected vehicle and stated no issues. Possible torque lock but nothing showing and possibly resolved. On 1/16/25 while driving to work, I stopped at gas station for coffee, left truck running. Got back in vehicle and placed in reverse, and again truck would not engage reverse. I received another push out in neutral , placed in drive and then proceeded to return home. While I’m drive check engine light came on, and truck would not go beyond the 2nd gear. I stopped at closest light to turn around and proceed home and the vehicle began grinding gea and jerking my vehicle while in drive. I tried to turn around at a dead end road and could not reverse vehicle and called for tow to dealership. Dealership at opening 7am took in vehicle 2 nd time with my complaint and called at noon. They stated the valve body of transmission needed to be replaced. Further stating it was a faulty issue chevy was aware about but nothing showing and recalled. They said no longer using manufacturer for this transmission replacement and it would be an unknown eta for repair. This is dangerous and unacceptable as it is a new vehicle with a known faulty part.

Valve body failure at 5,500 miles. Transmission wouldn't engage in reverse. Truck went into limp mode with a reduce speed message. Valve body is on back order for 7-8 months. The dealership decided to order a new transmission. Ive been waiting almost two months for the transmission to arrive.
Transmission valve body no warning. Was working fine and all of a sudden shuddered and downshifted and the lights lit up. Vehicle has been at dealership for 50 days now with no eta on this part. This is a national known problem and the recall has not yet expanded to the 2024 model.

Only 6k miles. Couldn’t go in reverse or get out of 1st gear. Brought to dealer, they said it needs a new valve body gor the transmission and there are so many trucks with this issue the part is on b/o for 2 weeks-3 months! in the meantime I have not truck.
Vehicle with out warring lost significant portion of its power and was put in reduced acceleration mode. This is a brand new vehicle less than 12,000 miles. The truck was towed to a dealership and the cause is a failure with the transmission valve body. Truck has sat a the dealer unrepaired for 2+ months.

I am writing to formally report a critical safety issue involving the torque converter in my vehicle, which has put my safety and the safety of others at risk. Less than 9,000 miles on a 2024 silverado trailboss and the transmission goes out. Truck goes into limp mode, which is dangerous if you are on a highway. The new truck has been sitting at a chevy dealership for 3 months waiting on a replacement part (valve). Have an incident number with gm, and they are pleasant on the phone, but they never call back with information when they say they will.
I purchased my vehicle from mak haik Chevrolet 11711 katy fwy. Houston, TX 77079 on [xxx]. Approximately 4 months my check engine light came on and I brought my truck to mak haik Chevrolet to have it checked out. The service department could not figure out why the check engine light had came on. They did complete the recall n242435631 regarding a need to update the radio and serial communication firmware on my truck. On Saturday November 9th 2024, I brought my truck into mak haik Chevrolet for the 2nd oil change at approximately 10,000 miles, and the technician could not get the truck to go into reverse. I was given a loaner vehicle and told that they would contact me about the issue once their transmission technician could look my truck on Monday. I was contacted on Monday November 11th2024, and told that the valve body in the transmission was defective. Jim cox, service advisor with mak haik Chevrolet, explained that he could not find the part, as this is a big issue with Chevrolet across the country, and he would let me know when he has access to the part. I asked about replacing the transmission instead, and jim explained that he could not get those in either? mak haik Chevrolet has had my truck since November 9th, 2024. The truck failed go shift into reverse. Had to push the vehicle out of the parking space. When I tried to go forward the vehicle shuttered and then shifted into limp mode. Dealership has had the truck for over 8 weeks now and I am told there is a national back-order on the new valve body because of the number of trucks requiring replacements.
I purchased my vehicle in July 2024 brand new. I started to experience an engine shudder at about 4500 miles with the truck coasting or on the accelerator around 1500 rpms. It first began at lower speeds around 40 mph, but now I feel it at high speeds as well. I brought my truck back to the dealership three or four times and they told me that the shudder was due to the active fuel management system in my 2. 7l turbomax engine. A different dealer said that it felt like a torque converter. There are no lights on the dashboard. The dealership I bought it from failed to try and flush the transmission fluid, only documenting that they did not feel the shudder on the receipt they gave me. However, during the test drive, they told me that they can clearly feel it. They failed to give me an explanation why there was no shudder for the first 4500 miles, and that it just started. They also stated that they had not heard of this problem yet, but said that it felt completely normal, which does not make much sense.
I purchased a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4wd in may 2024 from a Chevrolet dealer in east tennessee, after having the truck for 5 months, it started experiencing a transmission "shutter / vibration" at higher speeds, it has also experienced a transmission "hard downshift" at times. . . A month later at only 4914 miles, it was dropped off at the Chevrolet dealership here in my home state of alabama for its first oil change and for them to check what is going on with the transmission, after the truck being there for 3 weeks, we were told that the transmission needed to come out for repairs, we advised the dealership and several gm representatives that we wanted a brand new transmission put in the truck that is brand new to start with, gm has refused and stated that they were going just rebuild the transmission. . . . We told them "no" and that we had bought a brand new truck, therefore it should have a new transmission, not a rebuilt one in a brand new truck with less than 5000 miles on it. . . . The truck has been out of our possession starting into its 3rd month being gone for repairs, not only is this a huge inconvenience for us, but its also a huge safety issue because we do occasionally pull trailers with this truck. . . General motors has flat refused any help to our satisfaction with this transmission issue and has just pretty just blown us off and told us "no" when we have approached them with any kind of remedies for this situation, its pretty bad when a company that has taken a government bailout a few years ago, hasnt learned anything from their past mistakes and now think theyre untouchable. . . . It also pretty bad when you spend in excess of $60,000 for a pickup truck that you dont even have in your possession because of defective manufacturing. . . . Yes, it is a safety issue even more because my family is sometimes using this truck and may not always react the same way that I would if something happened going down the road. . . . It needs a recall on these trucks.
On [xxx], my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 custom, trail boss 7,500 miles lost immediate power during driving operations. I was accelerating from a stop and my truck immediately lost power and my rpms rose drastically without any power to my wheels. In an instant, the truck surged in power and continued to loose it while in traffic. I had to control the vehicle by slowing down. The check engine light appeared and warning messages to reduce acceleration and drive carefully. All of this occurred violently and without any warning. The truck reduced speed on its own and allowed me to drive 35 mph for two miles into the dealership which happened to be close. There is an extreme risk here for anyone who is driving at interstate speeds and this were to happen. After experiencing this incident, I was told the transmission or the transmission valve body required to be replaced by the dealership. I researched this later and discovered an extensive list of year models with the same problem. I was told services bulletins have been issued on this issue, but this is a serious risk to loss of life. I was told today Chevrolet doesn’t have a solution to the valve body problem and I would be without my vehicle until it is found and repaired. I am requesting a formal investigation. Valve body on transmission failed at 9000 miles resulting in extreme reduced acceleration and it being unsafe to drive. No warning lights appeared until after the part failed. Failed valve body has been confirmed by the certified dealership service center. Replacement valve bodies are unavailable from the manufacturer gm. Gm has not issued any formal recall for this part and searching online forums, this is a very common part failure for this vehicle.
My vehicle suddenly experienced decreased acceleration on the highway. A warning message appeared on the dashboard indicating reduced acceleration. When placing the vehicle in reverse, the vehicle was not able to move in reverse. The dealership diagnosed it as a valve body needing replaced.
Per the dealership service department the valve body went out and it is a manufactured misbuild.

Unknowns at the moment- truck is at dealership. Dealership stated they have no codes to diagnose the issue. While traveling, most notably @35-45mph, there is a vibration, seemingly through the transmission or transfer case. You can feel it slightly through both the steering wheel and the fuel pedal, along with hearing it. I’ve taken it in several times and told there’s no issue. I will not accept the vehicle back until they are able to explain the issue and repair it. I noticed the issue around 20k miles. I recently took the vehicle to the shop with 32k miles on it as it is progressively getting worse.
1. Experiencing intermittent hard shifting accompanied by shock and noise, 2. Unexpected shifting and shifting delays that cause rapid rpm increases. These issues were primarily observed at low gears and worse with stop and go traffic. The check engine light appeared approximately one month after noticing these symptoms.
