The passenger sustained a fractured sternum, a concussion, and neck and pelvis injuries. They were transported to the emergency room at the hospital. The airbags did not deploy. The seat belts failed to restrain the occupants. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The vehicle was towed to an auto shop. The local dealer was contacted, who confirmed there were no recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 2,300.
