I have been having issues with my vehicle for the last 1,000 miles or so where it appears to be losing power while accelerating normally, I'm not sure if the issue lies with the engine or powertrain/transmission. I took to dealer last week and they were unable to reproduce. The issues have been getting more frequent and intially were only occuring after the vehicle warmed up, now it has started while vehicle is cold. Feels like the power drops (rpms drop) during a normal acceleration. As of 7/16 I now have a check engine light on, onstar indicates an issue with my engine, transmission, electrical. This is putting myself at safety risk along with others as during my normal drive the engine is losing power and could either leave me stranded or cause an accident.
Auto wash truck quit, dead would not restart, tow service disconnected battery and reset. Okay after. Visit to dealer service they said nothing wrong. Driving yesterday in the rain quit 4 times on the road driving, it would restart each time. Warning on the dash would flash at times "hands on the wheel" while driving ? this is a serious safety issue. Intermittent when it gets wet, new truck, 1,800 miles, no alterations. Dealer service no help, it has hard codes, can bus communication issue, water intrusion likely cause, we are afraid to operate on the road, help please.
The contact owns a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph and attempting to depress the accelerator pedal, the vehicle lost motive power, the contact attempted to start the vehicle, and the vehicle operated as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The dealer cleared the codes, and the vehicle was then taken to another dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the ground strap needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the part was on back order and might take six months for the part to do the repair to be available. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
I am writing regarding an ongoing and serious issue with my 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 rst 2. 7l that continues to occur despite multiple visits to the dealership. Recently, as I was leaving my house, I entered my truck and started the vehicle as normal. Immediately after startup, approximately eight warning lights and system failure messages appeared on the dashboard simultaneously. The warnings included the check engine light, abs warning, brake system failure, service steering column lock, service traction control, service esc, service brake pad monitor, and trailer brake disabled warnings. At that point, the truck became undriveable. Although I was able to shift gears, the vehicle would not move properly in either drive or reverse. Due to the severity of the issue, I turned the truck off and left it parked overnight. The following day, all warning lights and messages had disappeared completely. This situation is extremely concerning because the vehicle appears to fail randomly without warning. I no longer feel safe driving the truck, especially with my children in the vehicle, because I fear it could stop functioning again at any time and potentially create a dangerous situation. I have already taken the truck to the dealership multiple times regarding this issue. However, I have repeatedly been told that they cannot properly diagnose or repair the problem unless the warning lights are actively present at the time of inspection. Since the issue is intermittent, this has made it very difficult to get the truck repaired, even though the problem clearly continues to occur. I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated further, and because this is a new truck that barely has 7,833 miles on it. As this appears to involve critical safety systems including braking, traction control, steering, and vehicle drivability. I depend on this truck daily and need a permanent resolution to this problem as soon as possible.
2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 safety issue summary: I am filing a complaint regarding critical safety defects with my vehicle. The truck displayed warning messages for traction control service and brake system failure on the instrument panel while parked in my driveway, prior to the vehicle becoming inoperable, I experienced dangerous driving conditions including swerving similar to hydroplaning on two separate occasions. Details: the vehicle was picked up on a flatbed on may 11th, 2026 because it would not start or run. When I drove it before this incident, I experienced the vehicle swerving dangerously similar to hydroplaning on two different occasions 5/1/26 and 5/9/26. Upon inspection, warning messages appeared on the dashboard indicating traction control system service and brake system failure. These are critical safety systems. Chevrolet he dealership in wichita falls, texas performed a diagnostic and claimed to find only a dead battery and parasitic draw. They refuse to address the traction control or brake system failures and claim they cannot duplicate the issues. They are pressuring me to accept the vehicle without written confirmation that these safety systems have been repaired. Safety risk: a vehicle with non-functioning traction control and brake system failures is unsafe to operate. I cannot accept this vehicle until these critical systems are properly diagnosed and repaired. Than you for your help in this matter.
I purchased a 2026 gm chevy silverado. At 500 miles all dash warning lights came on while driving, radio played static. I disconnected battery in order to reset the computer. At 1400 miles in the heat of south florida the air condition stopped working. After completing my drive 60 miles away with no ac I disconnected the battery to reset the computer. The ac started to work after this reset. I went to the dealer and they wanted me to leave the truck. They could not provide a loaner and the fact that this is my only vehicle I could not leave it. At 2000 miles the computer screen stated that there was an update. The computer would not update when I pressed start update. The screen then said unable to update conditions not met go to the dealer. I went back to the dealer and they said there is no update and they reset the computer. This is going to kill someone when they pull over on the highway because the christmass tree on the dash caused them to pull off the highway and a semi is going to kill their entire family when they are stoped on the side of the highway because gm cannot make a vehicle that works correctly. Please go after gm the company that stole your tax dollars when they went bankrupt.
0 audio works in the truck. No audible turn signals, warning chimes, phone calls, onstar. . . Nothing.
Same problem since 2024 on the silverado infotainment center goes black, radio cuts out. The dealer is hiding this problem from the buyer and not telling them. Gm has been working on this for 2 years and they can still sell the truck with an electrical problem. Lemon.
Vehicle has less then 700 miles. Upon driving vehicle, the dashboard started losing information, no speedometer. When I tried to pull the truck over to the side of the road, the power steering was lost. It was nearly impossible to turn the wheel, then the engine stopped. I was unable to turn on blinkers or hazard warning lights. When I put the vehicle in park to try a restart the engine would not turn over. The transmission was locked in park and unable to shift to neutral to try to push vehicle to safe spot. At this point I was blocking the road. Called for roadside assistance, two hours later vehicle was towed to Chevrolet dealership, were it is being assessed.
At 150 miles on the odemeter the tpm light came on I pulled off the highway, got out and checked all 4 tires. Not noticing any issues I got back on the highway and turned on the stereo. The speakers sounded like they were blown apart. Static and the sound of muffled vibrations. I drove to my intended destination and turned off the truck. After finishing my business at this location I started the truck and the tpm light was not iluminated. This is a hige safty issue. As a firefighter paramedic I have personally seen dead and mulated people that stoped on the highway and got out to check there vehicle and were struck by another vehicle. This issue is going to cause people to immeadiatly stop and get out of there vehicle thinking there is a flat tire. There is obviously a computer glitch in the 2026 cheverolet Silverado 1500 series.
