general problems of the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

On October 17, 2026, approximately two minutes after driving smoke started to fill the cabin. It appeared to be coming from behind the rear seat area. I pulled over and could not find the source of the smoke so I drove back home and shut the truck off in my driveway. Almost immediately after shutting the truck off the rear glass on either side of the middle sliding window shattered, but stayed in place. The middle sliding window did not shatter. I then called Chevrolet road side service and the vehicle was towed to a dealership.

Vehicle has died multiple times, seems to always be 10mph or less so far, stopping or just taking off, the time taking off it felt like I hit something and it died, I had not hit anything, the other times were slowing down and it just dies and seems to shift possibly and dies I have to put in park and start, not a good scenario on a hill with cars behind you. Took to the car dealership in conway (superior Chevrolet). They had it for a few minutes came out and told me they knew of an issue as they had 3 others in for same thing but don’t know what’s causing it. Nothing documented, sent me on my way and didn’t seem to care much. I asked if they found out anything if they would call he stated I needed to check back in with them for updates.

After driving for ~45 minutes, while sitting in traffic moving along slowly, my vehicle went into neutral, engine shut off and dash displayed message to press start/stop button to restart engine.

2026 chevy Silverado 1500 lt trail boss only has 2300 miles on it about 2 weeks ago pulling in to the driveway the truck shifted into neutral and died and prompted me to restart. Started find a few days later it did the same things. The truck has shifted into neutral and died pulling up to a light at slow speeds 4 or 5 times. It has done this twice at highway speeds on overpass incline. On 9/13 the truck shifted in to park while drive 5mph in at parking lot and shifted in to park on its and died will driving.

Picked up truck at the dealership with a friend and stopped at restaurant across from the dealership. I backed into a parking spot and shifted into park and pressed button to shutdown engine. No audible warnings were given to indicate that I did something improperly. We exited the vehicle and the only sound heard after I closed the door was the audible alarm that reminded me that the spare key was inside the vehicle. We walked approximately 30 to 40 feet and heard a crack from a limb that the truck struck as it rolled backwards down a small hill and crashed into a building. No one was hurt. Upon checking the vehicle, we noticed that the shifter indicated that it was in reverse after impact. Onstar was notified because of the crash and we relayed to it that no one was hurt. Truck taken to body shop.

After grocery shopping, I was putting items into the back seat on the floor of the truck. I lifted the seats to allow for more room. I went to push an item to the far side of the truck to allow for more room. During this action, I put my left hand down with my knuckles facing the floor to provide leverage. Without realizing where I was putting my hand, I placed the middle segment of my ring finger directly on the edge of the mechanical-jack and put my weight onto it. The jack is not covered and is black (the same color as the carpet). The edge of the jack has sharp burrs. As a result, I was cut across the entire middle segment of my ring finger and slightly on the knuckle of my middle finger.

Radio screen display, overheating, bubbling at the bottom of the screen trim underneath air conditioner show signs of overheating have been replaced before GMC and Chevrolet is aware of this matter. Initially made no notes to tri to inform me of this hazard of the overheating of the screen and blacking out of the screen commonly referred to a ghost screen. The trim was replaced under the warranty at 10,000 miles, but hendrick Chevrolet dealership located in [xxx] phone number [xxx] service provider was [xxx] not able to drive because I am fear of screen, overheating, and catching on fire information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

My 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, lt trail boss, did not include a printed version of the owner's manuals and guides. I have experienced issues with using automatic car washes with the truck lurching while inside the car wash, the online version of the manual is difficult to use at times when internet access is unavailable. My VIN is not listed in the recall n252532020. Another issue is with the driver's seat, the retainer for the leather upholstery keeps popping off under the seat that can cause it to become caught in the seat's mechanics.

2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab rst with the rst select package. The "chrome-like" trim inside and outside reflective the sunlight badly and depending on travel direction and sun position, horrible reflection appears and momentary blinds you. It is very comparable to having the sunlight reflect off a mirror and into the driver's face. There are two different areas of "chrome-like" trim in the middle of the dash that shine directly into your face, occasionally it will shine and reflect into the driver's side rear view mirror and place and line across the mirror, which impedes the viewing through the mirror. The reflection also occurs off the Chevrolet symbol off the middle of the steering wheel, this one is not as bad as the others, but still annoying. The reflection various and the pictures don't show how intense and bad it really is. The chrome "turbomax" emblem was removed from the hood because that would reflect and shine back into the truck. Is there anyway to pass new rules to stop having highly reflective materials on the interior and exteriors of vehicles.

Onstar super cruise, while using super cruise the vehicle tried to change lanes with another vehicle in the other lane. I had to fiscally override the super cruise to prevent an accident. This happened on three separate occasions.

Turn signals do not provide any audio signal letting you know they are on and working. Gm is unable to correct issue.

No owner manual, etc. Supplied. No safety information supplied. No maintenance information supplied. Dealer never mentioned when bought new vehicle on 4/22/2026. Went back next day and chevy does not supply any manuals. I could buy one for $100. If they were available. No car seat info or child restraint info. Nothing. Did chat with gm customer service, no positive results. Asked about recall n252540430. On owner manual being supplied. Dealer and customer service know nothing about it. I can look on phone, computer, or other digital ways to find info. Or sit in my car and use a tank of gas+ trying to find info on vehicle computer, if it is even there?.

The fin antenna on top of the truck has come loose, I got a continous message for the last 2= months. Service emergancy calling my truck is 6 months old now, but this happened 2 months ago. I took it to the dealership, friendly chevorlet where I bought it. Tech guy says I must have hit something. I called GMC and asked about product defect, was told thats not the case. I ordered a new antenna 4-12 26 GMC has none in stock which leads me to belie ve this is an ongoing problem. GMC says this is not covered by warranty. This is going to be a 600= dollar exspence for me. This antenna is for onstar and my phone connection.

0 audio works in the truck. No audible turn signals, warning chimes, phone calls, onstar. . . Nothing.

At 150 miles on the odemeter the tpm light came on I pulled off the highway, got out and checked all 4 tires. Not noticing any issues I got back on the highway and turned on the stereo. The speakers sounded like they were blown apart. Static and the sound of muffled vibrations. I drove to my intended destination and turned off the truck. After finishing my business at this location I started the truck and the tpm light was not iluminated. This is a hige safty issue. As a firefighter paramedic I have personally seen dead and mulated people that stoped on the highway and got out to check there vehicle and were struck by another vehicle. This issue is going to cause people to immeadiatly stop and get out of there vehicle thinking there is a flat tire. There is obviously a computer glitch in the 2026 cheverolet Silverado 1500 series.

My vehicle is listed as not being affected by any current recalls. When I purchased my vehicle in December 2025, it did not have an owner's manual in the glovebox, which I found concerning. Why do I not qualify to receive something as important as the owner's manual under that current recall regarding that safety issue?.

I purchased my new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck on 12/04/2025 from cma Chevrolet in [xxx] . When the truck was delivered, there was no owner's manual with the truck. I recently found that there was a recall associated with this issue. It is xxx. I thought that maybe manuals were now online. When I read the recall, it said that it is federal law that one be issued with each new vehicle. My VIN is not part of the recall. I contacted my salesman and he said that their parts department said that sometimes the manufacturer, gm, puts out vins in blocks. This does not make sense. How does a manufacturer know something that they did not do?? I would like my VIN added to the list of vehicles that are affected by this recall.
