1st occurrence, 9840 miles- slowing to stop sign, about 10mph, truck jumped violently, felt like I was rear-ended. Service parking brake, service esc, traction control off messages and cel on. Stuck in gear. Restarted truck, resumed normal operation but cel remained. 2nd occurrence, 9865 miles - 65mph on highway going around curve, truck jumped violently causing rear end to break free slightly, though I kept control. Transmission now several gears lower and stuck there, turning 2400 rpm at 65mph. Same three warning messages and cel. Tried manual transmission mode, but it displayed no gear indication, and the +/- buttons did nothing. Pulled off highway, restarted, all messages went away, cel remained. Truck resumed normal operation. 3rd occurrence, 9905 miles (on the way to the dealer) - I was stopped at traffic light, first in a string of cars. Light turned green, I started to accelerate, just into the intersection, truck jumped violently, same warning messages, still had the cel from the last time. Truck was now stuck in a higher gear, could barely get through intersection. Vehicle behind me narrowly missed rear-ending me, and others were blowing horns as I limped to the far side of intersection. This is a massive safety concern. If any of the above scenarios had occurred on snowy/icy roads, I could have injured or killed someone, including myself and/or my 3 year-old. Dealer replaced tcm, but is still noting "loss of communication" codes being generated. A chevy engineer has requested them to investigate the wire harness for damage in a particular location, suggesting chevy knows of a manufacturing issue. If that's so, and chevy hasn't issued a recall - or even a TSB - then this poses a strong case for negligence on their part. Are they waiting for someone to get injured or die before acting on this? I've now been without the truck for 10 days.
I was driving and was making a left hand turn when my steering locked up and straightened out my wheels witch made my truck drive forward for a second and then it stopped and allowed me to continue my turn. A few days after this happened I was driving over a bumpy road and it did it again and a bell started ringing and a power steering message came on my dash and it persisted for about 10 minutes and I haven't drove my truck since.
I keep getting a brake system failure 43mph top speed message I have taken my truck in multiple times to get fixed and we can't find the root of the problem. This error message happens once you start the vehicle and the brakes don't work.
Truck will lose all power, everything will shut off, and then come right back on. It has happened while accelerating into traffic, slowing down turning right and turning left, and while moving straight ahead. It has been in the shop once for this same issue and they tell me they cannot find anything wrong with it. The stabilitrac warning will come on and go off and have had stall warning flash in traffic at stop lights. This has been going on for the last 12,000 miles and I have 20,083 miles on truck now. The clock and radio reset. It shutdown pulling into traffic on a busy highway and was a very dangerous situation. Been trying to get it into dealership since 3 weeks ago and no luck. This is not the only issues with this truck.
Stabilitrak off window randomly appeared on my dash. Followed by radio shutting off, wipers going erratically, horn honking, steering wheel locked up, and cruise control shut off all as I was driving on a major highway.
When I'm driving the truck the steering wheel turn to the right side very dangerous when you are driving 45 to 70 miles I'm call the dealer and no recall for this problem.
First the controls on the steering wheel stopped working, while driving on a normal street in town. Then the stabilitrak service message and check engine light came on while driving down the highway. When the message came up the truck would no longer go when the gas pedal was pressed. Pulled over and turned off the stabilitrak in order to make it home and the truck shifted very hard into each gear and only would shift between 3000 and 3500 rpms.
While backing up or parked steering wheel gets really hard and the lights go dim radio turns off and a sign in the monitor showing steering assist is reduced drive with care.
Had my truck parked for 5 hours at my grandparents went to leave and had no power steering and the service power steering message came on the dash when I started it in the driveway. I checked the power steering fluid and it was full. So I turned the truck off and let it sit for a few minutes and started it back up again and power steering was still out. I turned the truck off again and let it sit for a few minutes started it back up and the power steering was still out but I was able to steer easier than before so I drove home. Also at the same time the service esc message came on along with the light on the dash. The second time restarting the truck the service esc message and light went away. The recall that was to fix this issue had already been completed on my truck. I have been having transmission issues as well where the truck will jerk into second gear and when slowing down from 2nd to first it will jerk again. Took it to the dealership and they said there was no bulletins on this and nothing they can do. I asked the service guy then why does the transmission shift rough if there is nothing wrong? I quote "the new transmissions in these trucks are supposed to shift that way".
My 2019 silverado is less than a year old and has 8,000 miles. I was backing into my driveway when it just shut off. Everything on the dash was visible as if the engine was still running. I tried to start the truck again and it would sound like it was trying to start but the engine would never start. The service esc can on and low power to the engine. My truck sat halfway in the start while waiting for a tow truck to come get the truck.
Multiple times moving at slow speeds the vehicle shuts off and all kinds of warnings pop up. Service power steering, service stabilitrak, service trailer brake controller, check engine light ect. When the vehicle does this it loses all power and the steering wheel violently jerks itself to one side. You can tell when it's about to happen because the power steering will intermittently start to struggle and go out and then the whole thing shuts down. Silverado 2014 crew cab 5. 3 with 79500 miles.
Numerous incidents while driving and making a turn into a public parking lot from a 55 mph hwy, all power went off, engine died and just before this steering was very hard to turn, stabil track light has been coming on. Gm dealer stated maybe bad battery, I had the new battery checked and it is good.
Traveling down highway at 60mph the tracsion control light came on and the engine light started blinking followed by the truck starting to miss hard. Got to friends house changed #1 spark plug all better now at least for 1,000 miles then will have to change it again. Went through this with the last one we traded for this one. Then it developed an oil leak that's when we traded it.

After driving the truck for about 20 min, the truck loose a little bit of power then the breaks begin to get harder and harder till the front breaks lock up, after they lock up I have to park it for atleast 10 min then you feel them unlock and you can drive again, sometimes only a couple more min or till the next day, had it into the chevy dealership were they could not find anything wrong except some old stored codes, I showed them the code I kept getting and they said they didnt so mine couldnt be right, but to bring it back if it happens again. Tonight I pulled into work, I work midnights and my front rotors were glowing lava red. Breaks locked up after the stabilatrak service light comes on.
Tl-the contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet silverado ld crew. The contact stated that he left his headlight on all night causing the batterie died. The contact managed to start the vehicle as the ecm, pcm, power steering assist reduced warning light illuminated. The vehicle has not been seen or diagnosed. A dealer hoblit Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram 333 main street, woodland, CA 95695 was contacted and informed the contact that no recall was under the VIN. The failure recurred. The batters was replaced. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 18v586000 steering as a possible solution to the failure however the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure informed the contact to contact NHTSA to place a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 48,400. Ck.
My steering wheel locked up and lost control of steering.
I got a stabilitrak failure chime and message with a reduced steering assist message and I lost my power assist for a second then it came back. I was fortunate that it was just myself in the truck going slow and pulling into a parking lot. I'd hate to think of my wife behind the wheel going down the freeway with my grand kids inside.
Pulling into a parking space at a local gas station it almost jerked me into a parked car. Luckily it hasn't happened at a high rate of speed or it will certainly lead to serious injury or death. There are multiple complaints on the net on multiple forums for this specific issue for these specific models and years. My truck has roughly 44000 miles on it. I feel as if I'm getting the runaround at the dealership. Like I stated earlier this has happened multiple times to me and there are thousands out there in the same situation as me. This is a serious safety concern that gm needs to address and fix.
