The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that after having a routine maintenance performed on his vehicle they advised him that the brake and fuel line were completely corroded. The mechanic advised him that all of the lines underneath the vehicle needed to be replaced due to the severe corrosion. He was unable to drive the vehicle since it was inspected for fear of the parts on the vehicle becoming detached. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 87,700.

2 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2010

The under carriage of my 2001 silverado hd is heavily corroded. The brake lines are leaking and all need to be replaced. I was backing my boat in the water and had a brake line fail. P/s lines are corroded and fuel lines are corroded. I have owned this truck since new and have taken great care of it. The lower cab corners are rusted out as well. This vehicle has around 90,000 miles and is not driven often in the winter months.
