Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact stated that while driving approximately 75 mph the message indicating the engine had overheated was displayed and smoke was seen coming from under the hood of the vehicle. While pulling off the road to stop the vehicle flames were then seen coming from under the hood. The flame were then quickly present inside the cabin of the vehicle. While the flames were inside the cabin the contact attempted to exit the vehicle but the driver side seat belt would not immediately unlock. The seat belt finally unlocked but the driver side door would not unlocked. The door eventually unlocked and the contact was able to exit the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene to extinguish the flames. During the incident the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 247,433. Jft.
While trailering my boat on i29, 2002 2500 hd, driver front tire tread separated causing significant damage to fender, door, bumper, bumper cover, bumper valance, driving light, and fender flare. Tire did stay inflated. I took pictures. Tire firestone steeltex a-t.
