My Chevrolet 2500hd began making noise from the front end at 67,500 miles. The right front wheel bearing assembly failed, there was no accident involved. The worn assembly is available for inspection. According to the repair shop this a quite common failure in the 2500hd. Had this been a catastrophic failure at highway speeds, the results very well could have been insurmountable. The assembly contains non grease sealed bearings that should not fail at this rate.
The contact observed that the right front wheel bearing on the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd was damaged. The dealer replaced the right front hub assembly. After 2 years the failure recurred on both wheels. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 15000. The current mileage was 26000.
