1 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2011

2004 Silverado 2500 hd, while towing approx. 7000lbs my brake line ruptured, luckily I had the trailer brakes to stop me because the pedal went straight to the floor. Upon inspecting closely the brake lines are so rusted you can literally smash them between your fingers. This is the newest vehicle I own and is in the worst shape as far as corrosion goes, a shame at 70k miles. Truck is in the shop now, can only imagine what this will cost. Already replaced rotors due to corrosion, e-brake cables, wheel speed sensor(bracket rotted off).

2 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2010

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact was driving at approximately between 5-10 mph coming to a complete stop. When the brakes were engaged an unintended activation of the anti-lock brake system occurred which required an increase in the stopping distance. The failure occurred intermittent at low speeds which had progressed. The contact inspected the vehicle and detected corrosion on the front wheel speed sensor. There was a safety related recall on the model years 1999-2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was 23,000.

3 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2007

My 2004 Silverado 2500hd has developed the following brake concern for the past year. When stopping as the truck slows to around 10 mph the brake pedal pluses and drops to a very low position that results in extending the stopping distance. All four rotors & pads have been replaced along with removing cleaning of the wheel speed sensors. The problem continues and I have had some close calls that could have resulted in a rear end collision.
