Front Suspension Hub problems of the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Drivers side front wheel bearing failed, also triggered abs problems as sensor is in wheel hub.

I see you have recall on wheel hub assemblies for 2004 chevy silverado I just replace both sides on my truck . The truck was bought brand new it is 4 years old it only got 60,000 miles on it I need to know if my truck was under your recall .

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle began to wobble while making a turn. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and it was discovered that the front wheel hub was no longer together and needed to be replaced. Approximately 9 months later, the front passenger side wheel hub needed to be replaced. The current mileage is 113,904 and failure mileage was 9,780. Updated 10/07/08.

There was a bumping noise noted coming from the left front wheel. The truck was taken to the dealer for repair. The left front hub assembly for the chevy 2500hd four wheel drive with duramax diesel engine was replaced. The dealer stated that the right front hub assemble was also loose and would need to be replaced soon. The dealer stated that they have had to replace three other complete hubs, so this means that a total of six hubs have had to be replaced. It was confirmed with the dealer that these hub assemblies have no grease fittings and only come with whatever grease is in the hub at the time of manufacture. This is a potentially dangerous situation and could result in an accident with a loss of life. This is reported in the hope that a full and complete investigation is conducted prior to a catastrophic failure with a loss of vehicle control and a resulting loss of property and lives. This should be investigated with the highest priority. I await your response and results of the investigation.
