Fuel lines, sending unit and fuel hoses corrosion causing diesel fuel to leak.
Towing trailer on the i90 interstate. Sudden loss of power and unable to regain speed on high speed highway. Dealer diagnosed as "fuel filter" problem. Has happened on numerous occasions seems common problem with gm duramax diesels from 2003 to present. The sudden loss of power can be dangerous on high speed highways as speed is cut drastically and speed cannot be regained to make a safe pull over to the side of the road.
Driving 50 mph on road, I stepped on the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the vehicle engine light came on. However the vehicle would not accelerate it was spitting and sputtering and slowed down for a while . I pulled over to the side of the road and shut it off. After ten minutes, the vehicle was restarted, and light went out and it ran perfectly.
