1 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2009

Excessive rear tire pressure in tires on rear axle causes loss of traction and the rear end to skid out in wet conditions. 80 psi is fine for heavy loads, but on a empty pick-up it causes a small tire contact service area. I have easily corrected the problem by reducing the rear tire psi to 50 psi which solves the problem and still is more than needed for a 2900 lb load the problem is this turns on the tpms light making it useless. I have seen more than one o these pick-ups loose controlandrollover as a result of this excessive tire psi on unloaded pick-up trucks that had 80 psi in them.
