While driving on a highway the truck started to shake, we immediately pulled into a garage and had the tires checked out. It was determined that both the front passenger side tire and the rear tire, same side, had a tread separation. These tires had 18,000 miles on them. They should have lasted a lot longer. We were fortunate we were not traveling on an interstate at a high rate of speed.
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd with green diamond icelander tires (na), size 245/75/r16. The contact stated that he noticed that the driver side rear, front and the passenger front tires were out of round. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they confirmed the failure and advised having the three tires replaced. The tires were replaced with the same brand and line of the previous tires. Once the tires were installed, the front passenger tire experienced tread separation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again where they replaced all four tires. The manufacturer was contacted but had not responded to the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200.
