Equipment problem #1

The rear window in my 2021 Silverado 2500 leaks when it rains, water is getting in the carpet/seats creating a bad odor and mold. The dealership will not assist in fixing this known issue.

Equipment problem #2

Unable to remove key from ignition for a period of time ie. 30 sec. To a minute or more. After driving the vehicle for a either a long or short period of time and you park it, you can't turn the ignition lock all the way off.

Equipment problem #3

The tailgate on my truck is electrically opened & closed. I've been having trouble with the tailgate opening randomly, even while driving. This has happened multiple times and can create a very dangerous situation, especially if I'm hauling something in the bed of the truck and it could possibly fall out if the tailgate were to open. Once I was hauling a bunk bed and the tailgate opened without me knowing it. Fortunately, we were driving through town on a flat road when it happened & nothing fell out. Someone behind me pulled up beside me to let me know my tailgate just opened. I recently took my truck to my local chevy dealer & they said there was no recall on it & they wanted $170 for them just to look at it. I looked online and see recall# n232426400 for it but I've never received a notice & the dealer says there is no recall on it for my truck. (I have a video of it opening & closing by itself but it's too large to send you).

Equipment problem #4

Originally Chevrolet offered a 2 phase approach for this recall. First phase was to install monitoring software in the ecu and tcu to monitor for early transmission control valve premature wear. Second phase was to actually replace the suspect valve. I've just received a second correspondence from Chevrolet for this recall, now only offering phase 1, tcu and ecu monitoring software installation. So if the monitoring software detects premature valve failure, the vehicle will be limited to 5th gear. I don't think limiting a vehicle to 5 our of 10 gears is a safe solution. If I'm on the freeway, towing 10,000 lbs, and my vehicle is limited to 5th gear, I may have to travel a very long time at way below posted speed limits before I can get to a dealer for repair. As we all know, travelling on the freeway at lower than posted speed limits can be just as dangerous as travelling above posted speed limits. And in fact, here in idaho, if you're travelling below posted speed limits you can be fined just as if you were exceeding speed limits. I feel Chevrolet's original solution is the best. Replace the suspect valve proactively instead of actually waiting for it to fail which can possibly cause an unsafe condition.

Equipment problem #5

When putting the truck back into park it will say shift to park even though it is already in park. It causes the truck not to shut off.

Equipment problem #6

Tailgate is opening and closing and opening and closing all on its own. This is safety hazard when towing or cargo could fall out onto the highway.

Equipment problem #7

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that the vehicle would downshift while driving uphill with a trailer attached to the vehicle hitch. The contact stated that the failure would occur without warning. The contact stated that the trailer would start to fishtail as a result of the failure. The contact would manage to ease his way out of the tailspin before regaining control of the vehicle. A dealer had been notified of the failure but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000. The VIN was not available at the time of the complaint.
