The contact stated while driving at 45 mph on raymond and meridian heading eastbound, the contact collided with another vehicle that was trying to turn left. The other vehicle driver was distracted with her phone and attempted to turn left and collided with the contact. The contact then veered to the right to avoid colliding with the other vehicle but was unsuccessful and landed 15 feet forward after the collision. The contact stated that both he and the driver were seated when the vehicle's airbags were not deployed, causing both the driver and passenger to be injured. The contact stated he sustained injuries on both his left and right hand and lower back, for which he is currently receiving treatment. The damage to the vehicle was on the front passenger's side. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where it was pending a diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
