Steering problem #1

My 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd bison zr2 (VIN [xxx] ) suddenly lost all power steering, acceleration, and propulsion while driving my children to school at approximately 8:00 am on March 16, 2026. The truck came to a complete stop with no warning lights or prior indication. This matches the exact ‘critical issue with the engine and transmission system’ alert I received from onstar advanced diagnostics the same morning. Steering was completely unresponsive and I had no acceleration. My children were passengers — this was extremely dangerous. I have not driven the vehicle since and have requested towing to the dealer. Please investigate under any open probes into 2024 silverado hd power-loss and steering failures. Steering problem #2

Steering wheel has excessive play. I have had it looked at by two different dealerships and they are trying to convince me that this is normal. There is about 1 inch of dead band in the straight-ahead position. The dead band movement of the steering wheel shaft does not move the pitman arm at all. The last time I took it to the dealership I asked if they could check the over center preload on the steering gear. They said they checked it and it could not be tightened any further without causing secondary problems. I do not believe they performed the actual adjustment as it would have required the steering gear to be removed and adjusted on the bench. The free play results in delayed corrections in correcting for lane drift. I have driven similar trucks and there is very little if any free play. This issue has been present since new.

Steering problem #3

Charging system failed the system failed with no warning, we were traveling on a country curvy road and about to descend a grade. With the charging system failure, the truck lost power to brakes and steering. It's at the dealer, being inspected etc. No warning lights or message until the failure occured, then a battery light appeared and a charging system failed message.

Steering problem #4

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving and exceeding 55 mph, the vehicle was pointing to the left. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that the vehicle was not driving straight. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact initially thought the failure was with the alignment however, the vehicle remained pulling to the left while. The vehicle had several undisclosed repairs performed on the vehicle however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened with the engineers; however, the case was never resolved, and the manufacturer closed the case. The failure mileage was approximately 1.

Steering problem #5

Truck sends safety lights on dash one day and the next day they go off. Truck is running rough and has subpar fuel mileage driving 55 to 65 miles per hour. Esc light comes on and steering wheel changes sides to drive straight. Information screen goes black and flashes while driving. I have been in contact with GMC and they said I have to report to you before they will do anything. There was a recall for my type of truck for poor fuel consumption but my VIN was not included. I feel my truck has fell through the cracks and is in need of serious repairs. 72k for this truck and now I am having nothing but problem I feel used. . . Please help! thanks , [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
