general problems of the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

The touchscreen malfunctions intermittently. My vehicle currently has 36,687 miles and this problem has persisted for a while and is getting worse. It has been to the dealer several times and has been reprogrammed. The dealer now is telling me they don’t know what to do. The problem is the touchscreen develops a mind of its own and it starts calling people of the phone contact list or my personal favorite is the radio turns itself on at almost full volume. At other times it tries to contact onstar when not needed or it mutes the phone call. It’s bad enough that I’m no longer able to use hands free calling in my vehicle. All of these actions either scare you as it is not expected or they require you to take you’re eyes off the road to shut off the radio, unmute the call, or to cancel the call. P. S. To me it does appear to be worse the warmer it is.

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v496000 (equipment) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer and another dealer, mccarthy Chevrolet (675 n rawhide, olathe, KS 66061) were made aware of the recall but informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
